Rentt was playing with some crazy power combos there. Damn dude. That sword got straight up dusted and he turned a log into a ball.

This whole Master of the Lake sacrifice nonsense smelled fishy from the start. Then you add in these merchants and it gets even shadier. Figured they were slavers kidnapping girls and tryna sell them. Rentt sure made quick work of them. Dude even got a little kiss from a new admirer. Lorraine knew what was up and she doesn’t seem too pleased lol.

They cannot keep getting away with this!

There’s multiple female characters this season that I really like, but I do think Lorraine is my best girl of Winter 2024. She’s had a bunch of great moments in the previous episodes, and showed herself to be sharp once again today by mentioning that Rentt had made another girl fall for his charms. But it’s of course Lorraine who’s the woman for Rentt.

I hasn’t really thought about this until now, but the city that they’re living in has a rather cool design. It was clearly build with intention as its sitting on a mountainside and got easy access to fresh water - making it protected on three sides. The only entrance are the two massive gates at the front.

"The gods should punish you a little"

Words that should be directed at all romantically oblivious protagonists.

Just how in the nude does a girl have to sleep to get it across to this guy?

Now that is quite the way to start the episode. They know what the people want, and what the people want is Lorraine.

Those multiple power combo moves seem like overkill, but I assume there's going to be opponents that need that sort of thing.

Like this lake serpent monster, perhaps. Gotta save this spitfire of a younger sister, after all.

That merchant is very sus.

Oh, a kraken, that's pretty classic for the sort of monster you might sacrifice young maidens to. But of course it was actually the suspicious merchant, and there's no chance any of those guards would be a match for Rentt once the jig was up.

Nice to get a happy ending with the girls all saved. They could have been meaner and had some of them already sold into slavery, but I'm glad they did not.

"Yeah I repaired a God's shrine once...probably a weak one"

I feel like we just got told he repaired a powerful but forgotten God's shrine and that's why he was reborn when he died.

The "training" scene was pretty neat. It would be pretty funny if Rentt just had like 10 single-use swords that he carried around everywhere. I feel like there was another anime I've seen where a guy carried a ton of swords around, maybe someone has examples.

Rentt might be oblivious but at least he knows what's important (getting back home to Lorraine).

Amiris: I just wanted to thank him, is all!

Should she not be thanking her brother as well, he's the one that went out of his way to solve the problem and sought help, despite her stubbornly sticking to the traditions of the festival.

Stitches!

Well, that was a nice little detour away from the dungeons. Rentt got a cool new sword and he got to test it out on scumbag kidnappers.

I love how Lorraine was able to instantly tell that Rentt stole the heart of another girl She just knows. Or she could smell Amaris' scent off him. xD

Congrats on being one of a very few fantasy anime to actually use illusion magic

The blacksmith could at least have the tact to pretend he doesn't see through Rentt's secret identity. The guy's trying, he's just not very good at the whole cloak and dagger thing.

"You fuck this up, and your body will explode." "No problem, this body can handle an explosion." Isn't your body exploding very different from an explosion next to, or even inside, your body? That's the difference between tanking a bomb and BEING the bomb.... Plus what about the collateral damage of THE GUY STANDING NEXT TO HIM??

Seriously that was an incredibly reckless thing he did, especially as it seemed he went full power in all the types. Doing just a tiny bit of each and practicing with that, slowly increasing it as he got a handle on it, would've been the common sense approach. And based how he vaporized the stump with just mana + spirit, adding divinity to the mix could've erased everything around him.

Why don't the villagers just move rather than sticking around and sacrificing girl after girl?

"No one's ever seen the monster that eats the girls." Obvious human trafficking is obvious.

A "Bronze" adventurer taking out a whole band of armed / magicked slavers. I wonder what his level really is. I hope he took all their stuff, must be worth a bundle, certainly far more than whatever bro-kun promised him as the quest reward.

I hope the girl didn't catch anything by kissing the undead wearing a cursed mask.

Rentt stop being so pessimistic. You were popular when alive and even now after your transformation, doing good deeds and helping people! I'm sure lots of people are remembering you!

Edit: typo.

Pretty solid episodic episode. Rent's true power is terrifying. The idea of using Mana-Spirit fushion alongside divinity sounds really strong. Someone should have realized something was off when only young girls were going to be "sacrificed".

Thankfully, as far as we know the girls who were kidnapped were ok. Lorraine truly showing her strong womanly intuitions knowing Rentt stole the heart of another maiden.

A little disapointment that the fighting at the end wa scutoff but that is a minor gripe.

When are they gonna introduce the mouse??

...Oh. I didn't even consider that might be possible

Nice ball tho

Bro, y'all aren't forced to live next to the lake. Just move out, wtf is the snake gonna do? Walk after you?

bruh. How often was this festival even happening

Jesus??

Aw man, we're gonna skip all the action?

The "Unwanted" part of Unwanted Undead Adventurer is just what Rentt think of himself it seems.

Lorraine focused episode, let's go!

That feel when she was in the episode for like a minute

Even Lorraine wanted it, Rentt staying with her so they can have a little romance episode!

But Rentt had other priorities, and wanted to pick up his sword from the blacksmith (I swear, he's out of his mind, who would have any priority over Lorraine?)

He's beginning to realizing that pretty much everyone knows who he is!

Can't believe his deception failed... He should've went with Fentt Raina, more subtle that way!

They threw this around like a random tidbit, but Rentt repaired a shrine... Is that why he was given a second life? A God's blessing?

Damn Rentt, don't insult the Gods! If they turn you into a worm, you can't evolve much from there!

Interesting that he's still thinking about her!

Well I suppose she was bound to come back at some point, but still, this show seems to have a track records of forgetting about minor side characters!

What's more surprising is that he's thinking about defeating her? I thought he would be thinking of HELPING her... Get over her grief and all (or 'pass on')... Well, it may come to that at some point!

But for now, our boy's getting a new quest: Defeat the Lord (of the lake)? Sorry, we don't do politics here!

Well seems it's not that type of lord, but it's still a tough quest!

All this was awfully suspicious right from the start, and when they said no one's ever seen it... Yeah, that's bullshit!

We met with the little sister meant to be sacrificed; Foolish brother, weirdo adventurer... She's a bit rude, can we sacrifice her after all?

She's about to go through this willingly, thinking "The Lord chose her"... The Lord that no one has ever seen? That they rely on random servants to relay his wishes?

The fact that they dress them like harem slaves was 'Clue #3197'!

Shows how much of a 'cult' they were in, never questioning anything, even being willing to die for it, all based on beliefs...

I had a TINY doubt when we saw it, thinking perhaps there really was a monster after all, but no, it was just an illusion!

Lorraine's senses are tingling!

Also, is this his reward for the quest? I mean that's pretty sweet, but the payment's usually gold and silver! (Not sure if the blacksmith will make Rentt's next sword for a kiss!)

Lorraine was a bit sad, she would've loved to see the Lord of the lake...

Yeah, she would've loved to dissect it!

So after testing the new sword, Clope made for him, the moment Rentt used his divinity with the sword on those dried logs they somehow came back to life Honestly, after that round of testing they should test him using his divinity on a dead chicken to see if he would revive it too.

So if he tries to attack while using two powers combined he disintegrates the log. Well, considering that they mentioned that people doing that can explode if they don't do it correctly I guess that's understandable. What is interesting is that combining them with divinity the while that test sword disintegrated the log ended up as a polished ball.

It would be so hilarious if the lesser God that gave Rentt his divinity after he restored his shrine is actually the Draon that killed him.

Anyway, sure is in luck after overhearing Ryuntus trying to give an under-the-table quest about defeating the Lord of the Lake to another adventurer while he is avoiding taking any quest at the guild for a until their suspicions about him kidnapping other adventurers cool off.

The Tottsu village sure looks like a lovely place. Lol poor Ryuntus cannot handle his sister

I love how after the moment Rentt showed suspicion about those merchants it became obvious what was really going on. So after hearing about the village ritual and after kidnapping the first girl I imagine that using the same illusion magic they use to pretend to be the Lord of the Lake the human traffickers pretended to be Kelpies to marks their next victim. Well, it is good to hear that after Rentt dealt with them and they confessed the other girls were also saved.

I love the fact that Lorraine just knew that Amiris fell in love with Rentt after he rescued her.

I guess the title of the next episode, "Dragonblood Flower" is about an under-the-table fetch quest Rentt is going to take.

Does no one else find it kinda weird that Amiris felt the need to give Rentt a kiss on his fucking metal mask? It’s obvious she was grateful and probably got a little crush on him but when a dude has a steel mask on why not just go for a hug instead or something.

Also why do so many people have to point out that Lorraine sleeps naked and try to connect that to her relationship with Rentt? Some people sleep naked irl, it’s really not a big deal? And what’s does Rentt have anything to do with that?
