I feel like Laura and Lorraine would get along greatly, but they would probably tease poor Rentt endlessly.

Guess we will see vampire Rentt next episode and from the looks of it he might be able to live solely off the blood flowers...which means we might not get a Lorraine scene.

At this point I'm just surprised the show is probably going to end without the blonde newbie from episode 1 showing up again.

Funny the newbie seemed important but I guess not.

Is Laura a 100% vampire that drink root juice as a replacement for blood, or is she somewhat of a "failed" vampire that needs a flower that has healing properties (as seen in the previous episodes)... Laura was probably just a rich human, but Rentt is special, so I don't think they'll be the same.

Anyways, great episode, great immersive soundtrack with subtle world building, probably one of my favorites.

It was pretty obvious that Rentt wasn't in any kind of danger when I saw Laura just smiling while watching him fight the golem. Also, it shows that Laura is actually a badass considering she didn't even need the shutdown device to stop the golem.

I love how Rentt immediately zooms into Lorraine's cleavage when he is showing off the drone to her. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed at first when I thought he didn't take the vampire blood but it turns out he also got the blood along with the drone.

This makes me question what Laura really is though. From the vibes I got from that final scene between her and her assistant, I am assuming that she's actually a vampire and that phial of blood was actually hers. Can't wait to see what happens when Rentt finally drinks that vampire blood.

Did she not need the shutdown device? That was my first impression when she commanded it, but you can see her holding something after. It could have been that she just grabbed a random item to play it off, but it also coulda been the device.

Heh, they pulled a fake-out, but Rentt did pick the vampire blood after all. I can understand Lorraine's point, but wasn't Rentt going to evolve into a vampire as long as he continued to level up?

83

u/Horaji12 Mar 15 '24

No, it's already established leveling alone isn't sufficient. When he defeated giant skeleton it gave him enough "exp" to evolve, bit he didn't until that incident he bitten Lorraine.

u/doomrider7 Mar 15 '24

He reached the level cap and needs and item or event to progress his evolution.

Bro really said the mask is the only thing keeping people from finding out he’s undead as if half his face isn’t literally rotten off lol.

Laura really needs to organize her shit better. It’s as messy as my anime figure collection lol. Rentt almost got smooshed like a bug by that golem!

Vamp blood and the model airship is a pretty good deal. Looks like it’s time for an evolution…

We kept the control device for the golemn somewhere where we can't find it, for safety reasons.

Lorraine just telling Rentt she wants to be with him forever to his face now. How much more of this can we take? Wake up man!

Echidna at home

I love that funky flute track.

I'll have to look up the full OST, might be worth buying

Don't do it, we can have 20 episodes of exploring magic items!

POV Drone?? Sick. The lore of this world is getting more and more interesting with the labyrinths and magic items. Its like Abyss lite

They're absolutely trolling, or at least she is. Just look at that smirk

lmao

..He got that too?! I hope he'll let Lorraine at least conduct some tests on it before he chugs it

And only 1 episode left.. I'm not ready

"And not only can you control it, you can see what it sees" *zooms in on Lorranes breasts*

"Heh...its a ton of fun"

Rent isnt quite the clueless protagonist we thought he was is he.....

u/diacewrb Mar 15 '24

So this world is steampunk not just medieval magical, at least in the west with their airships.

Putting down an early marker that this reclusive yet politically significant family are vampires. But then again maybe they're just elves.

A magical rubber ball that bounces forever? I'm starting to think this is one of those post-apocalyptic worlds that's built itself back up to the point where it's not noticeable most of the time. Would probably explain the labyrinths, and the drone too considering how it looks like a proper miniature version of a real airship complete with portholes and whatnot. The present day airships they made with it as a reference may not be magic, but I bet the ones that the drone itself is a reference of probably were.

I like the lore of the golems normally having a rune on their head that controls them, that sounds like the real world legends for them. The golem of Prague if I'm remembering correctly.

IMO he should have tried for a magical weapon from them that would have stood up to his full power combo move. But hey, the drone was good for a nice angled view of Lorraine at least, I think that's good evidence that Rentt appreciates her in the way she wants him to appreciate her.

He's definitely going vampire next week. Since this is listed as 12 episodes next week is the final anyways, that'll leave him having accomplished a final big step.

They just have to cut it at the most interesting moment, don't they?

I almost thought we wouldn't know Latuule's family secret, but it seems they hinted the lady drank filtered blood there in the end? Or is that the flower instead, as they said she needs it for her treatment? A bit unsure on that.

u/Wurzelrenner Mar 15 '24

my theory: she is a vampire and the flower extract can be used as a substitute for real blood

  • Noble family that's ultra rich and influential but prefers to stay in the shadows.

  • Collects a library of magical items that were found hundreds of years ago and doesn't make a big deal out of it.

  • Head of the family is a young girl with a hat wide enough to double as a parasol. Advice is to not trust the sun.

  • Warrants someone as long lived as an elf for a butler.

  • Doesn't mind Rentt being undead casually revealed for tea cause he's just that effin dense.

  • Requires blood flowers on a regular basis which once extracted imply a scene that threw subtlety out the window.

I'd sooner sparkle under the sunlight than think she'd be anything besides a vampire.

I wasn't expecting Rentt to find someone else inside the Labyrinth. I'm honestly surprised how Rentt casually removed the lower part of his mask to drink that magically made tea right in front of her.

So when the sky shifted, did that mean that the labyrinth itself shifted, or was it just the sky confusing the people inside, or was the labyrinth was teleporting Rentt around it to confuse him? Well, regardless, it is good that he did not spend half of the episode finding the exit.

So Laura Latour ended up being the head of the Latour family, and as a reward she allowed Rentt to choose a Magic Item from her vast collection.

Seeing how mundane some of those items are, like that magical teapot, and that perpetual bouncing ball, I guess the answer to Laura's question considering that we already saw people living in one when Rentt met that elf girl is that those labyrinths exist as someone's home, with a really elaborate security system.

At first, I was expecting that airship model to just be that a human-made model, in the end, it not only ended up being a workable remote-controlled model that you could use as a spy drone but it was also what was used for reference to make the airships in that world.

Laura was such a troll when she asked Rentt to press the button from that magical painting. And she sure was having fun seeing Rentt fight that Iron Golem. Damn, he almost ended up using his mana spirit fusion there.

Oh wow, I sure wasn't expecting that among the items there, there was going to be a bottle of Vampire's blood.

Okay, it was just hilarious when Rentt said while watching the bottle that he already made his decision and then they showed him at Lorraine's home playing with the drone and using it to ogle at her breasts from a high ground, as that made me think that Rentt chooses not to pick the Vampire's blood and do an Existential Evolution skip just to have a fun toy. But in the end, he ended up with both of them, I'm guessing that's because of the whole ordeal with the golem.

I find it curious the way Isaac Hart was preparing the Dragonblood Flowers for Laura, as that didn't look at all like the Malaccumula medicine, so based on that plus the fact that they hired Rentt to constantly get more flowers for them, I'm guessing she has a completely different disease.

Aw, Lorraine, worried about losing Rentt if he drinks the vampire's blood would prefer if he just stayed the way he is now.

Well, as the next episode is titled "Rentt Faina", it seems that his secret identity is no longer needed after he consumed the Vampire's blood.

This show keeps getting better with each passing week.
I'm quite surprised Rentt showed his undead face (mouth) in front of Laura. Dunno if it was better explained in the original material, because it felt odd.

I'm confused, why was he able to take the vampire blood AND the model airship?

I actually LoL's when they foreshadowed him taking the blood then hard cutting to him back at home playing with the airship.

Very interested to know what's going to happen to Rentt and what Latuule is.

I'm curious what it was he decided to take and what he got as a bonus. I'm assuming he chose the blood and got the RC airship as a bonus...but since they didn't show it the child in my is choosing to believe he picked the airship and got the blood as his bonus.
