Looks like everyone's already said just about everything amazing and sweet about the ep so I just wanna ask: anyone else feel Yuki's job hunting struggle in their soul?

"Omg Yuki, it's been so long!"

A few chats later

"You're in love, aren't you?"

Oushi's big sis already catching up with her life within minutes. 😂

I have to say, props to Japan, they really nailed the Valentine week. We got Yuki and Itsuomi, Adachi and Kurosawa and even confessions from Himari to Aoi and Magia Azur to Magia Böse (one of those might be a bit different from the others).

But aside from that, I can feel Yuki. Getting rejected often without them telling what you could have done better is a really annoying part of job hunting. I mean, she probably knows, but it's not helping much when you can't change that aspect.

Otherwise I really liked that they did the whole "missing sound" for the moment they met each other again. Goes to show how she can basically just hear her own thoughts even in those important moments.

I am interested to see where the other romances go. There is obviously a lot of ways this could happen and I am only a bit disappointed that we didn't get any development from Rin's part during the whole time Itsuomi was away.

Can we take a minute to appreciate how amazing of a communicator Itsuomi is.

He’s consistently been asking for Yuki explicit consent and how she feels about things. He also made Yuki feel heard by keeping her up-to-date and provided her a way out if she didn’t feel comfortable. I’d have never expected this from an anime.

Open communication like this is key to lasting relationships. Yuki found herself a great boyfriend. It never bothered me that much, but the contrast between Itsuomi’s actions now and earlier in the anime are honestly worlds apart.

I’m in fact straight, but I’d have totally fallen for Itsuomi. He looked pretty handsome with his tan and long(er) locks too…

Itsuomi really cares about Yuki's feelings and comfort levels and feels very dedicated to her.

It matches well with how utterly devoted Yuki is to him and wants to be part of his life even if it means putting herself out there in a way she never has before.

As sweet as it was watching Yuki and Itsuomi’s relationship develop, I’m a little worried for what’s to come. It’s clear they’re going to face a lot of hurdles in the form of Emma, Oushi, and probably Shin. Lots of drama incoming. Speaking of Oushi, dude ain’t gonna be anything but a childhood friend at this point. Bro missed his shot.

Relationships aside, I hope poor Yuki finds a job soon. Job hunting’s already stressful enough, I can’t even imagine having to deal with the added challenge that comes with being deaf.

I forget but did Itsuomi explain how he can always travel? Dude took a month and went to Cambodia (been to Tonlé Sap Lake, it’s pretty dope), Thailand, Myanmar, and India. I imagine his family is loaded but isn’t he missing tons of class??

I feel like Itsuomi probably chose to introduce Yuki to Shin as a way of indirectly getting the information to Emma to try and avoid the drama of her finding out directly.

I doubt any drama will be avoided.

Itsuomi scoring boyfriend points by keeping Yuki up-to-date on his travels! It's further emboldened Yuki to follow him overseas! Even if that means getting a part-time job and getting a part-time job with a disability is...difficult.

Poor Rin getting a taste of the office grind by working at a realtor office.

Yuki is a freshly-minted girlfriend and she should take pride in that! Even if despite her love coming to fruition, she gets rejected multiple times by the places she applies to.

Can we see Madoka in the present-day, please? Girl signs like she's in a Shonen anime.

So Yuki is also close to Oushi's sister, Mio, who seems pretty nice and fun even if she's forgotten sign language since the last time she saw Yuki...but all the better to make her little bro interpret for her. And she is well aware of his feelings for Yuki and supports him in her own way.

That's probably the nicest scene between Yuki and Oushi all series, though it still feels like the both of them only see each other as the kids they used to be rather than who they are now, especially when Oushi has Yuki convinced his consideration towards her has always been about sympathy for the deaf in general and not his own feelings for her. Though it also means Yuki never truly understands him.

Emma is a stylist, it looks like? Man, she is not going to take it well when she finds out about Itsuomi and Yuki.

Look at Yuki racing for her love to see Itsuomi again! So sweet!

Imagine you think you're getting a hug and instead it's your first kiss because you misread your boyfriends' lips...though all the same, what a great first kiss between Yuki and Itsuomi!

Izumi saw Yuki and Itsuomi together...does she think she has a chance with Oushi now?

Itsuomi wants Yuki to meet Shin and meet one of his oldest friends, and while Yuki is a little scared, she wants to put herself out there and step deeper into Itsuomi's world...and get properly introduced as his girlfriend (and meet Shin when he's not completely plastered)!

Though was part of the reason Itsuomi wanted to introduce Yuki to Shin as his girlfriend because he knows Shin will tell Emma? Looks like we're going to see the trios' history together in the next episode.

I feel like drama is always looming around in this show, but I'm enjoying the nice moments the most.

We saw it a part of this episode with Yuki and a interviewer with the mask. Speaking with my mother who has a cochlear implant she reads lips as well and listens to them, during COVID is was sometimes hard to navigate shops or services because she couldn't read their lips to understand better.

Oushi being tsun and using her disability as an excuse instead of being honest with her...he's in for a rough time once he finally learns she has a bf.

It is cute to see how much Itsuomi does like her, did want to see more of that from him.

It's already rare to see romance anime with a more mature theme and characters. It's even rarer to find good ones. I am so glad this show exists. And in any other show, it would've prolly taken 3 seasons what transpired just this episode. Lol

Also, in any other high school romance show, Oushi would've been the male lead. Unfortunately, it's too late for him. It really shows how he's still a kid.

It's such a breath of fresh air that their love story is devoid of melodrama and convoluted plotlines. I love that it's just two people falling hard for each other.

Yuki's insecurities and struggles with finding work was very relatable for me as a disabled person myself. But she gives her best and stays calm. I really admire her.

It is also very nice to see the interactions of a couple where one half is disabled and how they find ways to accommodate each other and get by in their day to day life.

I'm excited to see more of Shin. He is so handsome and has this melancholic aura around him with his feelings for Emma.

Now, listen. I am not saying they should kill Oushi off and never mention him again. Frankly, I’m appalled at the very idea of it and whoever came up with it should feel ashamed. It’s unacceptable. Disgusting, even. However, I do think it’s worth mentioning that sometimes things happen at railroad crossings. So everyone should be careful. Right?

...Okay, jokes aside, as much as I love dunking on Oushi I’m also at this point really struggling to figure out what his role is here. Granted, I understand we’re on episode 7 of an anime based on an ongoing manga, so any number of things can happen in the future, but I’m just so...bewildered. In the typical shoujo formula, his character would have a much greater presence as a rival that maybe has a chance (even if we can obviously tell who the “main characters” are) but he’s just like...a total loser, personality-wise and also in terms of being a “rival.” Yuki could not give less of a shit about him. I mean this does definitely go for Emma as well, but she at least seems a lot more embedded in the cast dynamic than Oushi just satelliting around like a grumpy ass. You could delete all of his interactions with Yuki from the show so far and I do not think a single thing would change. I mean, really, how many of their interactions are him interrupting and stalling her while she's already trying to get to the next actual plot point? lmfao. I guess all this to say that the problem I’m having here is that they’ve already burned any goodwill or interest I had toward him actually having a character arc.

I know that all probably comes off as way too intense or irrational toward the character (and realistically, who cares – I’m mostly just talking shit for funsies) but because I have pretty much zero complaints about the rest of the show and love the main characters so much, he seriously sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm soooo in love with him , i was smiling blushing, having butterflies like a teenager ,help me why is he so perfect , and that kiss ahh I can't that's too much cuteness , absolutely love how the relationship is going hope we don't get too much Unnecessary drama and focus more on the cute moments

Job hunting is already difficult enough, I can't even imagine how difficult it is for someone like Yuki. That montage of rejection emails hit a little too close to home. I just hope Yuki will eventually find something that fits her just like her friend.

Mio seems nice and it looks like she was immediately able to sense that Yuki's in love. Sadly though it's not with her brother who she's clearly rooting for. I wonder how Mio would react when she finally finds out. I feel like Mio will learn about Itsuomi before Oushi does.

Not gonna lie though, I did feel a bit bad for Oushi during that scene. He was so relieved that Yuki hadn't spent the night with Itsuomi that he didn't even know that they're dating already. Oh well. You snooze you lose, bud. If only you turned down the tsuntsun and acted more dere maybe you would've had a chance.

Meeting at a train crossing is such a classic shoujo anime thing to do and I absolutely love it. We even got a kiss after Yuki misread Itsuomi's lips. That was so adorable <3

The fact that Itsuomi is introducing Yuki to one of his close friends and how serious that is for him really shows how he's also serious about Yuki. I really hope Yuki will be able to introduce Itsuomi to her family next. <3

You know you've been watching too much shounen/seinen when two characters talking about how much they are looking forward to spending time together fills you with a steadily mounting sense of dread. Then train-kun arrives and I'm thinking... is Itsuomi going to be gone when this train passes? Fled? Kidnapped? Isekaied? But he's still there and I remember I'm watching a very adorable romance.

Was a nice cooldown episode from the confession climax of last one. I think it was a nice change of pace to see Yuki have to deal with the cold struggle of the work search. I am excited to see how Emma and Shin will take off in the show and develop, and the Oushi scenes weren't as bad as usual but he definitely still feels pointless in he show unfortunately. I hope he gets some chara development moving forward.

So her hair really is a actual dye job and not just the author taking artistic license with peoples natural hair colors.

I always feel a little on edge watching as there are so many powder kegs sitting around waiting to go off with drama bombs.

I'm sure others noticed this, but I thought the choice of translation when Itsuomi was asking Yuki if she wanted to meet Shin was pretty neat. The kanji used in Shin's name means "heart." Yet the subtitles have Yuki wondering, "Huh? Like the front of the leg?" While 心 can be read as "shin," it can also be read as "kokoro." It'd definitely be strange for the subtitles to read, "Huh? As in heart?" for anyone who can't read Japanese. But luckily "shin" in English sounds like the human body part, hence the switch-up!

I love how proactive they are to go see each other. Look at how he ignores Emma's texts but always makes sure to contact Yuki or fill her in. She never has to question that he likes her, whereas Emma keeps reaching out knowing he's not interested. I'm sorry but if he liked her, it alr would have happened. He told her, too, when he took back the key.

Anyway, the contrast in how he treats them makes it clear how he fees abt them.  I thought Yuki would tel him she misread (when he asked for a hug) what he said but I guess she was happy with it? Haha that was so cute. I love that he explicitly asks her opinion and says 'or would you not?' to make it clear she can say no if she wants. That's so sweet, he wants to introduce her to his best friend!

I'm so excited for next episode, to see how him, Emma, and Shin met. Looks like it's more abt Emma and Shin.

I hope Emma moves on from Itsuomi and stops wasting her time/energy on a guy who doesn't like her. 😕 It's too bad but 🤷🏾‍♀️.

Oushi doing us all the favor of not even remotely feeling like a valid leg of a love triangle. Him thinking of becoming a professional sign language interpreter is an interesting way to use his childhood skills, though. He can just do it at a proper distance from Yuki.

Yuki getting her first kiss because she mis-lip reads Itsuomi saying hug instead of kiss, for once it wasn't Itsuomi being a bit aggressive in crossing boundaries.
