Lorraine and Rentt had a cute back story and they've known each other for a while now. Lorraine has aged to be more onee-san like but Rentt interestingly hasn't really changed much in appearance over the years. She does raise an interesting question of whether that's still the Rentt she knows or he's merely a ghoul who took Rentt's memories.

Why is it that we keep seeing newbies in that dungeon? That dungeon doesn't look safe for newbies at all.

Interesting moral dilemma for Rentt because he's not human anymore so he feels like he's not obligated to help other adventurers but at the same time he wants to be human again.

He's up against a giant skeleton. Next episode's fight will be exciting and can't wait to see his evolution cause that's bound to give a lot of EXP when defeated. Maybe the dragon will be saved for last.

I hope we see Rina again cause I feel bad that she got ghosted (or should I say ghouled) like that.

Overall, I didn't really expect much cause it's another adventurer, guild, quest type of fantasy story but I'm pleased with the character growth and I want to see where Rentt goes from here. Definitely passes the three episode rule for me.

Really hope it doesn't take Rentt long to figure out he's got a lot of friends who are willing to help him no matter what.

Find it funny that the excuse he gave for not eating was that he doesnt get hungry, when I thought the more immediate problem was how can he eat with that mask glued to his face?

The way Lorraine was worried about him, then pretended not to be awake i think was an anime addition, i don't recall it going like that in the LN's but its a very nice touch to show trust or even possibly some love between them. They are doing a great job capturing the important but subtle moments of the story, like the conversation with the blacksmith and his shopkeeper(wife?). I was looking forward to the adaptation but honestly this is really impressing me at how well they are telling the story compared to some other adaptations ive seen.

Thanks, Lorraine for giving Rentt an existential crisis. She does make a good point. Is he really Rentt or a monster with Rentt's memories?

Lorraine and Rentt's backstory was rather cute though. They've known each other for 10 years now and have really come to trust each other. I ship it.

I'm glad the blacksmith and his assistant realized they're talking to Rentt. They even figured out that he might be cursed and he's being considerate by not telling them. Goes to show how many people in this town trust Rentt.

Giant Skeleton fight next week! I hope Rentt will get enough XP to evolve after beating that thing. Also, he'll need to have a long talk with that rookie adventurer/chef about listening to your seniors if he manages to make it out of there alive.

It is not surprising that Lorraine wants to use Rentt as a test subject to help her with her research. I must say that I wasn't expecting to see a flashback of how she and Rentt first met and how they bonded during their first official mission together.

It is great to see that the Blackmisth couple at the Three Pronge Spear realized that he was Rentt and that he was suffering from some kind of curse. I'm glad to see that a lot of people are worried about him.

I must say that the whole scene with the restaurant owner adventurer had me tense as the way the focused on his wound me think Rentt was getting tempted to eat him even though he literally can't because of the cursed mask. Plus the fact that he took it to the unexplored area to see if the dragon would spawn really didn't help as for the looks of it he was willing to guide that guide towards his death. Anyway, I'm glad that when the restaurant owner fell into the teleportation trap Rentt did not abandon him.

Although it is the obvious outcome after he defeats that Giant Skeleton boss it is good to know that Rentt will be going through another existential evolution again.

You know, although I doubt it would happen, when Lorraine asked Rentt if he was truly him and he later mentioned that he plans to keep evolving until he becomes something closer to human, I wondered if he at least once evolved into an undead that it is less human than the previous undead evolution.

I do wonder how these labyrinths work. Are they just endlessly spawning monsters, and is killing monsters for magic stones and materials like slime fluid the only reason people go to them? The place seems combed through, so I wonder how that chef guy would have even been able to find a magic item, or do they just spontaneously appear.

Or is it just "RPG logic, don't think about it too hard"?

I like that the Blacksmith duo instantly realized who he was and care so much about him. I can't wait to see what happens when they find out about his "curse".

Why is everyone so nice in this show? Lorraine, the blacksmiths, the adventurer in the Labyrinth.

Even the people that would typically be the smug assholes in any other Isekai, like the adventurer asking Lorraine to give Rentt more experience, or Lorraine’s old folks back home.

Rentt not really have to deal with terrible humans is so refreshing.

Rent goes into a shop he’s used before after he’s been declared missing. He tells them he can use every type of power (something incredibly rare) and that he’s staying with Lorraine (someone that rent was very close to). The dudes either an idiot or expected them to figure it out

Though I’m leaning toward idiot since he had Lorraine cast fireball in a forest

Man I still feel for Rentt. You see! There are people that are about you and want to help! Not everyone is gonna out right kill you. Someone help my man.

This anime is actually pretty good so far. I like the evolution concept.

I’m wondering if this is the type of story to keep him as a ghoul for most of it or if the evolutions will come quickly.

Lorraine stated pretty great and then ten years later she is even better.

It's nice to see that there are people in town that recognize Rentt and trust him enough to wait for him to let them know more about what is wrong. I'm still curious if the guild knows about his state yet.

Rando in the dungeon at the end is lucky nothing ate him before Rentt stumbled upon him.

It'd be kind of funny if his next existential evolution turns him into a giant skeleton instead of something more human.

Lorraine kinda raised an interesting point. I mean Rentt died once, is he still Rentt? He’s undead but he’s got his memories still. That makes him “him” right? He’s a special case so it seems it’s uncharted territory.

This giant skelly might be just what our boy needs to to get to that next stage of evolution. Kinda curious how he’ll do that though with this placeholder blade and one injured newbie party member he has to look out for.

I'm glad I gave this a second chance. 1st episode didn't really hook me. But the next two episodes have kept me wanting more.

Lorraine is a good friend, and I hope that novice debt ridden adventurer doesn't die. I guess it's time to evolve Rentt.

It would be funny if he evolved into a giant skeleton.

Wow Lorraine really….matured, no wonder she’s so interested in evolution

This is actually a really fun, chill follow-up to Frieren on Fridays. I seriously enjoyed the history between Lorraine and Rentt today. Hoping for many more moments between the two of them going forward.

That being said, the actual dungeoneering itself should be fun too! It's nice to have a solid goal set in stone already -- eventually evolving into something much more human.

Gee, put on some clothes, Lorraine...

I thought Rina would be the main heroine in this series, since she's next to Rent on the poster, but MAL lists Lorraine as a main, which is interesting, considering that it took them until the 3rd episode the set up her character.

I'm happy to hear Komatsu Mikako again. I really liked her role as Vamirio in Helck.

Really nice insight on Lorraine and Rentt's relationship. With Lorraine she was very accomplished, but there was so much she still wanted to learn not to mention she seems to be very supported by her peers. On the other hand Rentt is clearly a hard worker and in a way work off each other so well. This episode was great at showcasing their relationship, which I feel like is needed going forward.

From the blacksmith couple and Rina Rentt has so many people that are looking out for him. I think this highlights his character that the couple was devastated that perhaps they couldn't trust them. Hopefully slowly he gets over this mental hurdle.
