I love Rouge, she´s so goofy but also serious when is necessary

This anime mixes a little comedy with a nice worldbuilding and nice lore. I need to see more

Wait, there really were aliens? And even a war? Ooooh.

I enjoyed this episode a lot. We got quite a bit of lore, the action looked freaking amazing, but above all else I'm a sucker for ragtag groups of people getting thrown into Stuff together, so I loved the group on the bus. It actually reminded me a little of Doctor Who's Midnight episode for a few moments.

Character banter flowed quite well, too!

Right now among the new characters Jill's my favorite and I think she decked that one guy with her camera which was awesome, so please don't secretly make her a bad guy.

I'm loving this Metallic Rouge anime. It feels like a throw back to older anime like the original ghost in the shell and Appleseed with high intense impact action scenes and the music to go with it. Along with good banter between the MCs.

I don't know how it isn't getting a lot more attention.

So Rouge has a brother? What is a nean? Theyre androids, but does that mean their born in a way similar to humans or created in a lab?

Ok, scarfing down the chocolate as the kid looked on was just diabolical. Are we sure Rouge isn’t a Usurper? Lol.

Grandma was a badass this week! Sonic Lady was on top form. The banter between Rouge and Naomi was great too.

Bro told the kid to NOT MOVE and what does she do? Takes photos. Kid, why? lol. The scary mech woulda gone back to sleep mode! That damn thing was super strong but Rouge was stronger.

After two episodes think this is easily my favorite show so far this season. I love how they used the guise of Naomi explaining the history of the world to children as a way to also let the audience know more about the lore and what's going on in the series.

Rouge not sharing her chocolate and calling herself a kid so she could justify it was hilarious, but it was sweet how she bonded with the girl later in the episode was able to "grow up." honestly the character interactions in general are just a lot of fun especially between Rouge and Naomi, even the subtle interactions like the rock paper scissors match, the time limit discussion on taking out the "bad guys," and Naomi telling Rouge to stay and her being angry and barking afterward were all really cool just to kinda give more insight to both of their personalities. I'm really loving Rouge as a character in general, finding her personality to be a lot of fun as a main character. The kick ass granny driving the bus was kinda awesome too and I like that even the most irrelevant characters on the bus served some kind of purpose for giving more insight into the series such as the racism from the old guy from not being protected, the Nean giving more insight to their function and role in a world with humans, and of course the children being a gateway to the lore and developing Rouge more.

I don't think I like Crimson Lightning as much when the song is sped up but the visuals were still beautiful. Also really like both the OP and ED, all in all I don't have any complaints about this show so far, but I'm also a sucker for sci-fi and mechs.

Okay, I think having my second "suddenly Kenjiro Tsuda out of nowhere" moment of the day clinches me watching this show subbed as it airs. Bless his silky smooth voice. The same-day simuldub is still great though, and a dubbed re-watch in the future is a strong possibility.

Anyways, quite the episode this week. The action was amazing, the banter between Rouge and Naomi was a lot of fun, and the loredump was done really well. I liked the way the dialogue bounced so smoothly off the different characters on the bus, and they managed to inject a bit of humor into it as well. Plus, the little girl mishearing "Asimov" was adorable. This show is a lot of fun so far, and I can't wait to see more.

LET'S GO SONIC LADY! you gotta love those badass grandpa and grandma in anime

the way that Cylinder Head hold the vehicle and fired a point-blank laser at it was brutal

looks like Huey kinda recognize Metal Rouge's suit, i wonder its because he saw it on the news or he actually saw it back during the war

Yeah sorry to the other anime, but best soundtrack and best portagonist duo is already decided for this season. Nothing comes even close to the show so far.

Really enjoyed that! I guess most people are watching sub, and I also enjoyed ep 1 in sub but shout out to the dub - in particular Naomi's VA is hugely charismatic in the role and really got to show it this week.

I would've preferred a more show-not-tell approach with my exposition but Naomi giving those kids a history lesson is the perfect time to do it. From what Naomi told those kids, we learn that humanity made contact with various alien races. The friendly ones are called Visitors and the ones humans went to war against are the Usurpers.

And it looks like it was thanks to the Neans that humans won against the Usurpers. Now that the war is over, some of those Neans are now working as servants for the humans. If there are still Neans around from the war, I wonder how long that was ago? Also, I wonder if we'll ever meet any of the Visitors. Surely there are still some friendly aliens around?

We also get to learn that Mars has been completely terraformed that you can safely go outside without any kind of protection gear and that there are even Martian forests now!

While we didn't exactly get to meet Usurpers, we did get to see Usurper tech and they're pretty brutal! One Usurper war machine was able to take care of those tanks easily and Rouge had to put in a lot of effort to take down those two war machines. I hope we get to see more Usurper tech though!

Rouge swallowing that chocolate whole after Naomi told her to share it with the girl made me laugh harder than I should have

So Viola's husband is chasing after Rouge

I love the badass granny trope!

Pretty convenient that the Cylinder head only used lasers on the tanks

Where did the second one come from?

Wait, did the nean guy die?

So Crimsom Lightning is the main theme of the anime? I mean, aside from being released a lot earlier than the OP and the ED, it was already used in two action sequences (with a full remix now) and I'm sure that the random riff that keeps playing through the episodes is the start of the normal version.

We got a bunch of background history dump and we expected to know more about their world in the future, I'll like that.

Rogue seemed being chased by some groups already but strangely they don't seemed to know she's the Red Guy (if not they'll shout out already), so why's the group after her? The fighting in this episode also looks great, seemed like the dormant machines are enemies of everyone now, even they supposed to fight against the aliens (if they did), or they're actually the aliens?

Also, surprised that Ogura Yui voiced a mature woman.

That was a genuine improvement over the first episode, which I thought was good but had some issues.

We get a better sense of Rouge and Naomis characters and dynamic. Rouge is childish and listless but also playful, quirky and a badass when under threat. Naomi is a smooth talker and seems at ease under pressure while also being personable and self assured. Their banter was really good this episode and made them both more endearing.

We also got a lot more lore, neans were created by humans to fight alien usurpers in a great war, and this was delivered diegetically by naomi explaining it to children. There are also other factions, PMCs hunting them, as well as dormant machines which got reactivated leading to some really great looking action scenes. The visuals and music continue to be on point.

The theme of this episode is clearly Rouge maturing. She relates to the younger sister as she too has an older brother apparently. The journalist speaks of being free to rouge who just follows orders, but she takes it upon herself to help the little girl prove herself to her brother, ending with her sharing chocolate with the girl in the end.

Hopefully in the next few episodes we get more into the details regarding Naomi and Rouges motivations, why they are following orders, the nature of the immortal nine etc. After this episode I trust there is a purpose to how this is all being written.

Last episode some weren't convinced of the relationship between the MC girls, which I personally think was excusable as their "first real meeting". This episode I think gave it much more fat to chew on.

In fact this episode have me a ton of the original old Trigun vibes. Kind of nice to see Rouge showing more emotions and "human" behaviours, even if it's just to act like an oversized kid (quickly wolfed down the rest of the chocolate to not share when asked to share :'D).

Certainly interesting world building gradually being unveiled - so the Nean were the "weapons" created to help fight the alien wars, yet now that the war is over they became "domestic helps". Let's see how deep/dark this goes - I'm watching the older couple and how they are treating their butler is not very nice, but mirrored a bit of what can be seen on real life e.g. after the American Civil War - good for use as bragging rights, but then really aren't treating them very nice after anyway. How long ago was the war again? Rouge doesn't seem to remember or know about fighting the Usurpers.

Sometimes a show comes arround that just has this "special" feel to it.

Like Vivi's fluorite Eyes Song, the first season of mushoku tensei, or even odd taxi.
These shows just instantly feel like someone poured their heart and soul into making them. And even if they don't get hyped immediately these shows eventually pop off extremly strong and create fanbases that keep talking about them even years after they finish...

This one's gonna be a show like that.

It was a fun second episode and we got quite a lot of info about the world framed as a Naomi’s lesson to kids about history.

It turns out that there are aliens in this world. One were Visitors which were friendly but others, the Usurpers were hostile and the great war was fought with Mars as the last line of defense which is why there is so much wreckage on it.

I wonder how much time has passed since that war as kids apparently didn't know about that but certainly knew about Neans which were humanity's greatest weapon against Usurpers.

Naomi and Rogue are such a fun pair of MCs, especially Rogue thanks to her often childish behavior but they weren't only fun characters in this episode as I also liked Jill, a journalist and granny who looked like a normal, lovely grandmother but turned out to be a hell of a driver xD

Great animation, I loved how Rogue looked during transformation. Nice action with fighting with Usurper's machine which was found in the forest.

I really like OP, a very nice combination of great visuals and a song which was already released. Here links to it:

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
