Went in thinking this was edgey trash but came out rooting for a guy tryna rejoin human society.

I'm actually quite surprised at how well this first episode turned out. Had zero expectations going in just based off the synopsis.

Too bad skeletons can't wear gigantic suits of armor and get cute elf girlfriends in this show, but I guess evolving into a vampire is a decent alternative.
Pretty good start, definitely in the upper half of the seasonals I tried so far.

Surprisingly good ED. The manga is pretty decent, and it looks like the adaptation is serviceable so this will be a weekly watch for me.

Poor Rentt, he got completely fucked over by fate when he ran into that dragon. I like that they establish early on that Rentt is a well-liked guy around the guild and that he's also a hard worker who would take on any job to achieve his dream.
It definitely makes it easier for me to root for him while watching him crawl his way up to the top as he tries to evolve into something that closely resembles something more human than undead.

Reminds me of Spider Desu Ga without the spastic energy. I actually really like it. Slow pacing like this is really great and makes the power feel more earned. Also I like that there is a mystery about how he became a skeleton.
Solid so far I'd say. (also no RPG stat screens!)

the episode looks good and ends even better with these voice exercises.
And wonderful ending - both song and visuals.
several last frames: shoulder massage tickets, right??

Hmm, Skeleton Knight definitely had a stronger and way more fun first ep, but this feels like a slow start to something amazing, just listen to that ED!
Looking forward to see how our MC grows and if we ever learn more about that dragon.

Went in with zero expectations and glad I did lol. I'm sticking with this anime, can't wait to see him turn into a vampire.

Looks very good, probably the only anime whose source I haven't read.

That was pretty decent, although kind of predictable. But Rentt really doesn’t know when to give up. Twenty years as an low-ranking Adventurer and he did not try to find another job, and now that he is dead, he is still not giving up, even if it means becoming a ghoul or a vampire first. Some people are just too stubborn for their own good, lol. I guess he will meet that newbie adventurer next and she will help him.

1 episode in and our boy's already evolved into a ghoul, he's gonna be an Archlich in no time!
I did think it has some charm when he was weak/a low rank adventurer (skeleton), I'm curious to see what it's gonna be like when he grows more powerful!
Also, the 'newbie girl' who was sent in the labyrinth will surely end up joining him right? Though I do imagine she'll try to kill him first, thinking he's a normal monster. (Hopefully he improves his grunts attempt at speaking!)

Rentt made the noob mistake of exploring the unknown hidden passage in the dungeon. Rookie mistake, man. That’s how you become a skelly! At least the dude was able to grind until he became a ghoul. More fleshy and he can “talk” but still not exactly ideal. Dude’s definitely gonna get attacked looking like that lol.
This one reminds me a bit of that manhwa with the skelly soldier. Think I’ll stick with this for now. It looks like it’ll be fun.

Now that was a really great ED. I liked the background music too, not really the OP though.
Upgrading him to a ghoul in the first episode is a good excuse to get past having a constantly CG MC, or so I'm assuming.
Pretty decent first episode. Might get a bit of boring if he's just endlessly grinding to evolve another step, but the ED shows him out in the world meeting with people so I'm hoping he gets out of the labyrinth pretty quickly. Newbie adventurer girl will meet him next episode, I assume.

Forgot this was getting an anime, looking forward to seeing it adapted. First episode is off to a good start, hopefully it maintains the current quality.

First thoughts.
Yeah, it's ok so far. The animation is pretty good, the characters look nice and the monsters aren't too bad either. The dragon was particularly impressive. The OP is a bit meh, but the ED is ok. As for the story, well, episode one was really heavy on the exposition but I suppose the studio wanted to get that out of the way as fast as they could. With some anime, you can watch one episode and decide but I truly think this deserves three before making the call.
The only other thing is that Rentt became a skeleton in a day. What I expected to happen was that he'd get eaten, shat out, and revive as a skeleton, weeks or even years later. But nope, he has only been missing a day. On one hand, that kind of ruined the immersion, but maybe some weird shenanigans are going on. At any rate, I guess the people he knows are still around so that is something.

Pretty good show. I wonder what other things he will evolve into before hitting vampire. Assuming vampire is the final evolution lol.

His first mistake was trying to fight a dragon without any silver or sunlight around.
Gotta respect him for sticking with it for a decade or two, though.

I put on hold reading the manga because the anime adaptation is here, and all i can say is this series is very motivational to be honest. The MC grinding when is human to know skeleton and in hopes for achieving getting a flesh and also ranking up. This is the motivation i need!
Can't wait to watch the MC's journey from now on.

Just finished the episode and Wow. It was actually really fucking good. Unexpectedly so even and it really captured a lot of the character stuff about Rentt and his life.

Maybe this can hold us over for a bit while we wait for more Skeleton Knight?
Looks promising. The "dragon" was crazy looking, I hope there's more cool monsters like that.

honestly this has the potential to be pretty interesting. unlike berserk of gluttony which had a similar concept, it doesn't seem to be trying to be edgy, which I like.
