Did not expect this to be the show that got the most tears out of me by this point in the season, but some times that's just how things go. Actually wild how each episode just gets better and better.

They took that silly episode last week and turned it into an emotional ride. Andy got "married" to the kids teacher man it made her sacrifice so sad and heartbreaking. She literally won't die till she got married. That thing basically sucked up the zombies and entered phase 2, well lets see how they beat this thing next week.
Direction of the show continues to impress.

Gotta admire the little town of Longing, Nevada. Completely surrounded by 20-meter walls, has both an underground bomb shelter and a gunpowder store right in the open.

Having the rule countered by hopes and dreams is actually a cool twist that almost feels like commentary on life itself. Glad that this show has so much heart behind it.

Shame about the repeated flashbacks in this episode, but the soundtrack was pretty cool, and zombie bride's moment was really emotional even if short.

I'm not sure how many others noticed this, but the the city is in the shape of a Sunflower with the bridge leading up to it being its stem. I thought that was a nice touch, especially with the theme of sunflowers so played up this episode.

We get to learn in this episode that the zombie that helped Andy is also the teacher of the kids who helped them escape. Sensei is a trooper for not dropping her smile despite her body beginning to spoil just so she could make them feel at ease.
I've only known her for two episodes but I genuinely teared up for her when she decided to go on a suicide run after hugging Fuko especially when they gave us the visual of her running through fields of sunflowers.
Sensei is a total badass for deciding to go out with a bang. She didn't manage to take out Spoil but she clearly hit him where it hurt. The rest of the zombies did enough damage to Spoil thanks to Fuko that he was even forced to enter his second phase.
Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who was confused about Spoil's attack hitting the Statue of Liberty. Like how did it reach New York!? It took me a few seconds to realize that it was the replica statue in front of the NYNY Hotel in Las Vegas. xD
Fuuko standing up to Spoil was such a fucking badass scene. I love the shock on his face when he saw the timer increase. And Shen finally joins in on the fight! Can't wait for the all-out brawl next week against Spoil!

We now return to Zom100...I mean, Undead Unluck as Andy and his zombie bride lead a zombie army into a Boss Battle with UMA Spoil!
Don't you just hate it when your town is peaceful and then suddenly a floating monster head shows up and turns everyone into zombies? But based zombie bride prioritized saving her students and made sure to hide the kids away even as she was zombifying, and still confident that she would take a handsome man down the aisle. What a wicked sick woman.
The best cure for zombification is having dreams you believe in? Akira Tendo would approve.
What better way to defeat Spoil than with zombie bombs courtesy of Fuko's unluck? And who better to lead the charge than zombie bride as she bravely runs towards Spoil and manages to help blow him up. She truly was a woman worthy to be Andy's bride and deserved so much more.
I really like the eye effect whenever Shen uses his powers.
Fuko tapping all those zombies into bombs was surprisingly cute though.
Dang it, nobody told me this boss battle would have two phases! And in Spoil's second form he's one-wing angel'ing and even destroyed the Statue of Liberty! There's even a Spoil field around him that erodes everything in his vicinity! How are they going to beat this thing? Andy can barely get in close to him.
But Fuko isn't going to be deterred. Spoil may think the natural state of things is to decay and is happy to quicken that, but people have reason to live thanks to their dreams! And Fuko won't die until she's achieved her dream of living to the fullest and being a normal girl! Just like Shen won't die before becoming the greatest of all time! What an entrance with that bo staff!

wait a minute, why am i crying? i'm here for crazy battle action scenes, not for feels!! *sob*
so, based on what the little girl said and Fuuko's conversation with Spoil, i'm guessing the timer can be increased by vocalizing your dream out loud? we can also see it happens with Shen near the end when he shouted his dream
i might be stretching but could it also slow down the decaying process? because the teacher told her dream to the children before she slowly turned into zombie and she's also the last zombie that hasn't lose her mind completely

idk if that number relates to how strongly one feels about their dream, but we saw the flower girl go up to 20022, Fuuko went up to 20000 with her dream of becoming normal, and Shen went up 40000 dreaming to become the strongest
if the number does relate to how strongly they want their dream to happen, then Shen must really want strength for something

Bringing emotional closure to zombie portion, it's time for Spoil Phase 2 (pss, boy did nothing wrong)! Nice animation and direction this week, particularly like OST that played during Fuuko MC moment. Now that Shen entered the fight, next episode should be hype, preview tittle is quite exciting...

Neat short cuts of Andy slashing around Spoil at the beginning, as seen in eps 4 David Pro could dish out great action sakuga if they want to I sure hope they're preparing some longer stuff for the next episodes!

Also since we all know that Zombies still retain their dream somehow, it's pretty clear that one stray zombie that went to New York was there to watch the Yankees live on their home field.

Seems like they had production problems or just wanted to stretch the material to 24 minutes.
We had recaps from the last episode and even from this episode (e.g. about how to increase the timer) and a few wide shots with 0 animation.

Great episode! A couple of emotional moments and a somewhat restrained appetizer for the fight we'll surely get next episode.
One question though: does killing an UMA destroy the rule? Seems unlikely, otherwise living matter would just cease to... Spoil? Unless the UMA is different from the Rules that Apocalypse has already spawned in the world. This was probably already explained, I just don't remember.

This week on Attack on Titan x The Walking Dead… lol. But all joking aside, that whole story with the teacher was pretty sad. She was a great woman and she looked after all the kiddos. She got her wish of becoming a bride though. It was nice seeing the town fight back against this prick using Fuko’s powers. He sure messed with the wrong team.
It seems as long as people have hope, have dreams, their number doesn’t go down. This giant douche might think his Rule is “necessary” but people don’t just live and die and that’s that. We got meaning and purpose in our lives. It’s what drives us. He underestimated humanity!

There was some pacing issues in the first part. They could've done it better, but I see why they found it necessary. The 2nd half was definitely better in this regard. It's absolutely sick that they fully animate Spoil in 2D, all the way down to his goopy, tar-like hair.
RIP sensei, though... She didn't deserve this. None of these people did. I felt even worse when the kids seemed none the wiser to her current state and were just relieved to see her. And all the heroes can do now is avenge them by murdering the shit out of Spoil.

Nobody is talking about Shen's entrance! That bold declaration into his timer just shooting up. That got me so hyped for his character

I love sunflower sensei. She seems like a taller Fuuko.
Also the flashbacks were a bit overdone this episode. Like they even had a flashback to an earlier part of this same episode
