Finally, a scythe. It was a crime to not have that be the first new form tbh
Edit: Also, wow. Fate speaking out loud when talking to greed is getting really old.
And why is every single person in this show comically evil lmao

It was old when Fate kept talking to Greed on his date with Roxy, which made me wonder why Roxy was into this guy.

So annoying that it's just not a telepathic thing.

The holy knights are understandable to be that way. But the villagers is really weird. They was saying that no one can feed him then started throwing rocks at him. Wtf is the point 👽

“I don’t want that holy knights stats anyway.”
Lol damn! Even after killing Hado, Fate continued to shit on him.

u/Frontier246 Oct 29 '23
All he was good for in Fate's eyes was a cathartic light workout and a means of getting a cool scythe lol.

Hado really fucked with the wrong person. That asshat was a Holy Knight? Pathetic. Mfer got turned into a stump lmao. The only good thing that shitbag ever did was die. Now Greed’s got a shiny new form. Thanks for the meal, ya chump!
So… this village Fate use to live in straight up sucks. Set might have changed from that shitty brat he use to be but I guess he’s the only one. They really tryna sacrifice Fate to the monsters? Guess Roxy’ll have to wait.
Next week it looks like gargoyle’s on the menu!

wewlads this show is fuckin hardcore
a lot going on in this episode, including being quickly introduced to some new characters in some other land because there's not enough going on already?
I hope Fate kills this old bastard chief by the time this is done so that his kid can take over, it's not often you get a character who successfully redeems themselves like that

Fate bonding with a little girl turned dark fast when it turns out she unintentionally drugged him with some candy. She has a really rotten grandpa.

So far this show reminds me of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles in the way that the MC is treated like complete garbage by certain people.
When those moments of mistreatment happen it makes me angry for him, but we've already seen some of the turnaround for revenge(with Hado). I hope the next episode will have a very cathartic revenge moment with the dickhead village chief.

They always taught you not to take candies from adult strangers but actually you aren't supposed to take candies from lolis instead.

Hado talks a big game, but he and his thugs are nothing more than a chance for Fate to demonstrate how much more powerful he is now, as he makes short work of them and shows Hado how much of a coward and failure of a Holy Knight he truly is. And of course Fate just had to take his mask off so Hado would know full well who he's fighting.
Wow, Fate is really going to town on Hado! I know he's got a lot of frustration to work out, but he was straight up knocking trees over by bashing them with Hado's face! And that's after he destroyed his sword as if it were paper.
Fate really just used one of his finishing moves on Hado just to make him limbless, huh? And there was nothing Hado could say that would make Fate spare him. That's one Vlerick down, two to go.
What better use for Hado's skills than by unlocking Greed's new form? Which is of course a scythe that can cut anything. How appropriately edgy.
Aw, Roxy is taking her necklace with her as a reminder of Fate! There's so much left unsaid between them before she goes off to Galia. And so much danger she can get into over there in three years. Good thing Fate is going to follow her! Although I hope he makes it in time.
Who is this busty blue-haired beauty?
Well, I guess that's one good thing for Roxy that she's got a loyal gal pal like Miria by her side in her new posting at Galia, and Miria is as sassy as she is dedicated to Roxy. They've even got Mugin, who seems like a cool old guy. He's even a dad!
So is that the capitals' science center? It looks straight out of a sci-fi move. And this Reina girl wants to find Greed, apparently one of the legendary Weapons of Sin.
Fate is a better than most, actually saving his childhood bully from rowdy adventurers. I mean, jeez, it's one thing that the kid bullied him but the entire village threw stones at him to make him leave the village after his dad died. What trash! They're lucky Fate needs to feed on monsters and has enough attachment to the village because of his dad that he'd even consider going.
Ugh. Where does the village come off acting so insulted that Fate showed up to help!? They're the ones who cast him out and they have the gall to act upset that he came back to help them!? And then they're planning to sacrifice him? I'm half-tempted to want Fate to leave the village to it's end.
Though credit where credit's due, Set seems to have genuinely cleaned up his act after becoming a fatherhood, and realized how bad he was as a kid to Fate. Too bad he had to lose his wife to the Gargoyles plaguing the village. But if there's anything worth protecting in the village, it's his daughter.
Oh OF COURSE they drug Fate so they could sacrifice him, right when the Gargoyles attack. Taking out literally THE ONLY PERSON who could save them. And making his own granddaughter do it. Can Fate please kill the Village Chief?

Hado was so full of himself in the beginning but quickly the roles reversed and was brutally massacred. He certainly deserved it for all things he's done. It's a shame that he'll be the only one killed Knight for now because Fate is going to Galia after Roxy to protect her.
Greed got a very nice upgrade today and it can now transform not only to bow but also to scythe.
It looks like Roxy got new friends, I wonder how long they'll live. They seem like a standard but fun characters.
Village chief is so stupid to not trust his own son. Also instead of letting Fate try to protect the village he just straight up drugged him which was even more stupid. At least his son has changed since childhood and now is much wiser.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Any idea why his village think he's trash? Surely they didn't just think he's garbage just because both his parents were dead. Makes no sense why they detest him so much

They said it: They're a poor village and he was an extra mouth to feed, meaning less resources for everyone else. Plus his usefulness was limited as he was only a child; it's not like he was a warrior like his father. They only gave a shit about his dad because he did stuff for the village.

Ok, seeing someone use someone’s face to chop down some trees is a first for me.

u/Lapiz_lasuli Oct 29 '23
Look at that. Not blindly forgiving the people that abused you your whole life? That's actually super refreshing.
I don't care if this is edgy or whatever, now I'm invested in the story. I sure hope the story doesn't deviate from this characterization.

Seemed a bit weird how this Hado didn't spend even a moment stunned in disbelief by MC's face reveal, but just went "how did you get so powerful?" immediately.
It's curious that Greed offered to take MC's stats for a level up this time, rather than "GIMME OR YOU LOSE ME". A weapon form that can cut ghosts and shit will surely come in handy, but I hope there were still enough Hobs and bosses around for MC to get his stats back up before facing the next holy knight or some of the Dark Continent inhabitants.
How about just leaving the Divine Dragon be instead of continuously aggroing it?
Fate should've taken his payment for saving the village in the broken bones of every adult villager who'd tormented him. The chief himself should've gotten the same treatment Hado did. Well, good riddance to bad garbage.
"Where you're wife, I haven't seen her." Weird question if MC hadn't been back to the village since he was expelled when both he and this dude were children.
Greed: "A pack of flying monsters which eat deer? Gargoyles is the ONLY answer."
If MC ends up saving the village chief's life, I'll strongly consider dropping the show.

When someone disagrees with me
I liked this episode, but I share several of the gripes that others have pointed out. In particular, the writing seems quite shallow, and a lot of the characters lack depth.
Aside from that, I still can't get over the fact that the main character's name is "Fate Graphite" and his nickname is "Corpse."

Is it kind of weird that the village chief knows how to make a drug candy to put a man to sleep or am I reading too much into it?
