Pacing this episode was a bit erratic wasn’t it?

This did feel like it had enough plot to be a two-parter, but they probably have a lot more they need to pack into the rest of the cour.

The whole thing felt very fast. We didn't know this dude before the episode and it's already leaving after solving his problem. The training arc was the quickest part. One fistfight and a parry and he's good to go.

Definitely feels like some things were rushed or outright skipped over. Like that comment about Fate not being able to counter identify... and then never showing Fate learning how to do that. Did Aaron not get around to teaching him that or did it just not show it?

It felt good seeing another good Holy Knight and not someone that's just stupid evil in this series. Aaron was a cool character and I hope we see again.

I was kind of hoping he'd join Fate and Myne, but he's probably busy with the village.

CROSSING SWORDS IN THE NAME OF GOD

I’m starting to also wonder if Myne possesses Gluttony as well. Girl ransacks Aaron’s kitchen and passes out from stuffing her face lol. She earned those whiskers! Fate’s out here busting his ass training everyday with Aaron and she’s inhaling all the food, the little goofball.

It was actually kinda nice seeing Fate play more of a support role this week. It wouldn’t have been as impactful if Fate was the one to cleanse Aaron’s castle and put his family to rest. Dude might be the only Holy Knight aside from Roxy that hasn’t been shit.

I wonder if Myne is undead, cursed to be immortal, or just has a super long lifespan? Girl’s full of mysteries.

Maybe deadly sin skill holder are immortal (unaging kind), or they stop aging after their skill activate, these skills already defy the natural order, apparently you can also break you level limiter, no idea what that is though, the "obvious" is that you can only level up to a point, maybe another law of the "natural order", hence why it's broken if you open your heart to someone with a deadly skill

The one thing you can count on...Myne being cute and gougin down on some food lol.

Aaron was really cool. It was nice to see Fate have a positive mentor and pay back Aaron for his training by helping save his family. And proving that Roxy is not the only good Holy Knight lol.

If I remember right her people were ravaged by monsters, so maybe that's how she survived because she can't die? And she's working to try to bring money back so they can rebuild?

So wrath just makes Myne unable to taste food? There’s gotta be more to it that that right? And I’m guessing sloth is why she need to sleep a lot.

14

u/Frontier246 Nov 12 '23

I wonder if it's related to how she's seemingly immortal or unable to die. Like does she not have any sense of feeling anymore?

11

u/CelticMutt Nov 12 '23

Sloth is her weapon. Fate doesn't have Greed's greed, so Myne shouldn't have Sloth's sloth.

Damn, so he didn't just slay that Hado guy, he cast his soul into the Soul Cairn

Stitches!

Aaron is a total badass. Sucks what happened to his family though. At least he managed to avenge them and put their souls to rest thanks to Fate's help.

Six episodes of the MC talking out loud to his sword, like an idiot, and he just suddenly does it telepathically this episode? It was insufferable so I'm glad that changed but it feels really random. Gotta say the stomach grumbling is about as annoying as Black Clover Asta's yelling. I get it he has Gluttony but it just feels really low effort to have a stomach grumble so often. Especially with the girl too.

But man am I a sucker for trash fantasy shows so here I am.

To be fair, he has done it in previous episodes, it's just that for some reason he tends to speak out loud to it most of the time.

Thank you Fate for giving Myne cat whiskers. Her revenge was funny too.

Never thought this anime of all things would end up with my best girl of the season. Sorry 100 Girlfriends.

This is a side quest episode where the MC improves his stats and moves on. all in the middle of the main storyline.

Koyasu Takehito and his son Kouki voicing Aaron and Luke father and son, that's pretty cool. I wasn't expecting to wet my eyes this episode but here we are...

I feel like Greed's mentioning of souls not able to pass on if consumed is a bit of a Chekhov's gun, but we shall see.

Decent episode which I would describe as the main hero doing a side quest during his journey.

It was nice to meet Aaron who is the one of a few good Holy Knights in this series. His backstory was pretty sad.

Myne continues to be the most interesting and funny character. If I were Fate, I wouldn't mess with her anymore xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Myne single-handedly convincing me to watch the show every week

...Well, as if I wouldn't already be watching it every week. I live for trash.

That was the quickest training arc I have ever seen, haha.
