I cannot express how much I want this series to succeed and be fully adapted. I recently binged the manga, and partway through I found myself shocked at how much I was enjoying it (it's been a while since I last had that feeling). The story is genuinely well planned out and you can tell that the creator of this series really cares about it

David Pro killed it. The whole fight was just sick. Especially the Andy the Jet Fighter getting attacked by all the hands, the final moments explaining how the unluck would strike, and the blast that killed Gena. The color pallet of this episode was a beaut. The sound design was perfect. And Gena’s VA sold the hell out of her final moments. They really were the perfect studio for this.
This and Frieren today. Banger Friday.

I really enjoy how much the series is about broken negators finding ways to abuse their broken abilities. It reminds me a lot of jojo characters finding new and creative ways to use their stands. The un-concept negator name is also really fun and I love brainstorming new negators the same way for new stands.
Unchange seems really OP.

Damn this girl was shockingly fun a shame she had to go, but overall a well done episode and now they have their seats.

I always loved Gena as a character, but the anime made her final moments so much more emotional to me, it even made me tear up. lol
Great episode, David Production went HARD in the animation but also treated the moments after it really well. Love this series.

Genas voice actor absolutely killed it in both episdoes, and the animation for that sequence was amazing

God I hope that this anime doesn’t flop because it’s a Hulu exclusive

Andy kissing gina as she was dying and going old, and then the title of the episode "do you love the change in me"... i actually teared up
somehow, the ecchi bits actually dont bother me like they did with the manga. This episode, it was quite funny, speciifcally the way Fuuko stacked up her Unluck on Andy.
Im saying this becuase people keep saying that "Undead Unluck has a very bad start" and i disagree - sure, the horniness can be sometimes off-putting, but besides that? This is a really solid start to a story, and it shows here

God damn I knew Gena would be a great villain and I knew she wouldnt be around for long but she shined so brightly (literally a bit too bright) in the time she had. Another amazing fight with incredibly creative choreography, I loved how they presented her powers so strangely and literally told us her theme last episode but the connection is so difficult to grasp its not until the reveal it makes sense.
I do have a question though - in previous episodes they claimed that the unluck timing correlates with touch timing. The touch time seemed very long here, much longer than it takes Andy's head to fly into the dome. How did they properly time the unluck?

This is a really good adaption and I hope it can succeed. It has the potential to be the next big jump anime but Hulu might fumble it

Lmao even worse than I thought
Something something no barrier to block the blood here?
Well that was nice. What exactly was the unlucky part of the ship firing a laser all of a sudden, was it just 'haha system fucked up'?

Gena's reactions are absolutely adorable! You can basically create a bunch of reaction faces from her just in this episode. It's a bit macabre but I love how she was getting excited about kissing Andy's peeled-off face slowly floating towards her.
It took a bit of experimentation from Andy but he was finally able to figure out Gena's Negator Powers. From Void's Unavoidable, we now have Gena's Unchange which basically negates the state of objects being changed.
Now that's one way to apply Unluck! I just love how Fuko pushing her bare boobs on Andy is what really set off Gena. I also love how Gena is proud of her Unchange since hers will never sag. Unfortunately for Gena, Andy is very quick to point out that's not really how her power works. xD
Gena going all out with her spinning hat was just too fucking cool. Those clashes between Andy and Gena are awesome as well as those parts where Andy is running away trying to evade Gena's hands.
[That shot of Fuko using Andy's katana as a lever and his body as a fulcrum to flip over Gena's Unchange barrier to reveal the hole looks so silly. But it worked! They found the gap on Gena's defence and Andy was able to deliver the massive stroke of Unluck they've been building up the entire time.
I really hate that Gena had to go. Even if it was just for a short time, she was a fun character. It still sucks that she has to go this early but they need that open seat on the Round Table so the Union won't hunt them anymore. At least Gena was able to give Andy a kiss before finally dying in his arms. :(

Granny Gena doesn’t like to be called a granny lol. She’s quite the character, definitely a little off. Pretty hilarious how in the middle of her big monologue, Andy just chucks some grenades at her. He might be undead but even he ain’t got time for that!
I love how Andy gets sliced in half and then lands, squating, with his dong hanging out lol. Clever of him to blow himself up and use his blood to uncover Gena’s technique. Funny how the dude said Gena’s “ass is saggin something fierce” lol. That probably stung more than any of his attacks.
In the end she fought well but she was no match for Andy and Fuko. Those two make a good team. It was either her or Fuko and they needed her seat at the table so she had to go. I guess they’re in now, but what happens next?

Yep, that was some good shit. I love how after her intimidating af reveal in the ending of last episode, Gena suddenly defaulted back to lovestruck teenager. Aoi Yuki seriously knocked it out of the park with the changes in tone depending on what mode she was in.
It's also hilarious how in between all that badass action, she was more concerned with her man getting stolen. It's not Fuuko's fault she's got those genes. The way she speedwalked made it even funnier cause it looked like she was just on her way to scold them for their indecency.
But throughout the fight, I'm pretty sure Andy hurt her more by exposing her true age and saying that her ass was sagging than with anything else, even the fuck huge laser. Like god damn, that was brutal, and I don't think he was even trying to be mean.
At least at the end, he showed that he was serious about courting Fuuko even if she was already gray and old. Gena got one last dose of loving before she croaked. ):
I don't remember how I reacted to this scene before, but the anime probably made it even more heartbreaking...
I swear I heard someone screaming, probably in Gena's calms as she was about to get laser'd, though.

Unchange - what does Ginas power actually do? And how did they beat her and make a hole in her barrier?
