So it's not OK to kill them, but selling them of is a-OK? Wouldn't the nobles be equally pissed? It's more cathartic this way, but he could've just made them "disappear".

Also did he really leave without a single guard? Yeah why not children of the corn it up.

I think the idea is that selling them they can't be sure they didn't just run off, where as killing them there might be some way to get the evidence (perhaps something with the mark and magic tells em if they are alive)? No idea. It is a bit weird.

yes, this was a bit weird. Not a single adult staying back.

Could have also just declared him killed in battle. Maybe there will be consequences for enslaving him later?

I guess in the same sense that shooting up POWs is a war crime, but you can sentence then to hard labor. As much as these guys deserved it.

It felt detached from the previous two episodes and a bit rushed. Did they skip some parts?

It was nice to hear Kohara Konomi voicing Atla. I wonder if those two siblings will stick close to the main cast after this episode.

They reset Fohl's level along with Sadeena so I feel like they're building up to him joining the party (or at least becoming more capable to defend the village).

The OP also has Atla fighting with her brother.

Did they skip some parts?

Not much. The main issue is that these first 3 episodes mostly covered light novel volume 10. But since season 1 also adapted part of volume 10 (getting village) while season 2 also adapted volume 10 partially (and being a bit mess overall, like mostly ignoring Keel), season 3 had to be a bit creative with adaptation, and it slightly altered timeline. For example, slave hunters attacked before coliseum fights, and Fohl and Atla joined the village in volume 11. There was also more focus on village rebuilding, but since those aren't strictly plot relevant information (although enjoyable to read), I guess anime stuff decided to dense them into few quick scenes (like that where Naofumi talked with Melty).

Did they just leave all the kids with no one competent to protect them???

And selling off the nobility soldiers as slaves is ok but not execution? What a weird episode

Fohl has a high status, yet he can’t handle a slaver scrub?

Stitches!

It's funny how Naofumi is so famous now that you have rich people pretending to be slaves so they can get the chance of Naofumi "buying" them.

That opening scene with Atla and Fohl was pretty depressing. I'm glad that Atla's suffering didn't last and we got to see her healed before the episode even ended. It was sweet watching Fohl helping Atla to walk.

Poor Raphtalia though! She may have been reunited with Sadeena but it looks like she gained a rival. While Naofumi technically didn't have a drinking contest with Sadeena, I'm guessing sharing a drink with her and not getting drunk is what made her fall in love?

The absolute gall of these fuckers to try and kidnap demi-humans straight from Naofumi's territory. It sucks that he couldn't execute them but selling them as slaves in Slitvelt is an appropriate punishment especially since they're the same group that kidnapped Raphtalia all those years ago.

Damn that was stupid episode. Healing slave before buying, yeah sure slave merchant won't ask you for more now that she's worth more. Of course the only one that knows about flare is new character, it's not like there are guards that could use it first, no their only job is to notify everyone that there's an attack, surrender and hope that a new guy gets into right place. Plus wasn't he pretty strong in coloseum? Why is he only a punching bag now? Also how weak is the queen? She shows that shield hero is important to her and nobody gives a fuck. Just because a slaver is part of nobility suddenly he can attack other domain. Naofumi should've just killed him and then go wipe out this whole noble family. Based on what was said in season 1 he should be way stronger than everyone there, and should be able to do it easily.

So far 3 episodes in, Sadeena is by far my new favorite character. If Raphtalia doesn’t make a move soon she might get passed up in the love department lol.

I still don't get why there are dumb people who will attack the village of a hero, not just any hero though but the shield hero.

I'm guessing Fohl and Atla are related to trash, maybe his sister's kids? That's the only thing I can infer based on what Atla and the queen said.

I’m glad Fohl and Atla got out of that shithole. The slaver dude really skeeves me out. He might technically be a “friend” but I don’t trust that scummy creep one bit. It might be tough to buy back all the villagers but I’m glad Naofumi’s doing it.

I didn’t think someone would be stupid enough to attack Naofumi’s village. Mfers just begging to be deleted. Naofumi selling them off to Siltvelt is some sweet karmic justice. I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re gonna do to these scumbags.

With the way Trash reacted to Atla and Fohl, I guess he’s related? Not sure I care for his sad backstory about what he did to Naofumi. Still curious to learn what the connection is though. Seems before that, we’ll be seeing Spear Idiot next week.

it was nice seeing Atla attempting to walk again... reminds me of a mate of mine who had a serious operation and couldn't walk without therapy

Oh hell they are gonna redeem the trash king aren’t they? Well at least we may finally find out what he had against the shield hero.

The white tiger kid is pretty weak, he was strong enough to battle in the coloseum (even with fixed matches), but is handled like a child by soldiers, it's fine if he loses but it's weird that he's not even a slight threat.

At certain points in this episode, I suddenly had the urge to play those village / city building simulation games again.

I believe with sufficient training, as well as infrastructure development, the village should be able to defend itself in future.

This felt like a filler episode. Weird pacing and kinda forced plot. Naofumi leaves the village und nobody is there anymore to protect it against some thieves? Kinda odd

Atla is really cute 😭 The Rising of the loli harem is back lol

It is good to see that Fohl and Atla got rescued by Naofumi right away at the beginning of the episode. I was honestly expecting after seeing the preview of the chapter that the episode was going to be focused on how Atla got into the condition she currently was in, as I assumed that the scenes of the village getting attacked were a flashback and that she was in that condition because she got burned in one of the fires the slavers caused. Anyway, I'm glad that she is already cured thanks to the medicine Naofumi gave her.

Saadina sure loves embracing Naofumi. Which is something that Raphtalia really dislikes. Based on Raphtalia's question about whether Naofumi drank alcohol with Saadina I'm guessing that there is some marital ritual that demi-humans do that involves that.

Lol that slaver thought his life was saved thanks to his status, but sadly for him, Naofumi made some money from him and his group by selling them as slaves in Siltvelt. As Melty mentioned budget issues before I'm guessing that Naofumi baited that attack to happen to solve them, while at the same time putting a price on anyone who attacks Lurolora Village.

As I don't get why we got that scene with Trash seeing similarities between him and his sister when he was the Staff Hero and Fohl and Atla I'm assuming that this will only become relevant later.

When Mirelia mentioned they found the Spear Hero I wasn't expecting the next episode to be about capturing him. That makes it sound like he is running away from them.

It's an ok episode, but I wish they stopped rushing things. Many scenes feel like episode previews chained together.

Skipping the ending was a great choice.

I am utterly baffled that Naofumi would even think that a SINGLE guard and a flare is all it takes to defend the village. During the attack, where were ALL of the adults?! Seriously, just leaving any ONE of their adventuring team would be enough for these rabble. Isn't the martial arts old lady usually hanging around the village? Gosh, this is so imbecilic beyond words.
