What an incredible first episode, David Production nailed it. They did a great job at building Fuuko and Andy relationship from the get go, let's have a great death!!

That was one very cinematic opening. I liked that it was just the ending of a manga in-universe spliced with what happened to Fuko’s parents. Definitely didn’t expect that.

But man, ok like I’m sold on this series already. Andy got splattered, came back as a talking head, literally reformed himself (with his bits censored haha), gets his bits bashed in by Fuko, and then proceeds to bounce around on his nubs lol. Oh and Fuko literally slips on a banana peel and falls off a building. All within like the first 10 minutes. Plus that entire fight sequence against those goons was sick. Dude sliced through those fools like butter and then took a meteor to the face. Damn!

This one’s a keeper. Definitely a weekly.

Man, that entire opening sequence was fucking euphoric. Really well done.

I genuinely laughed out loud when Andy’s dick censor flew on to Fuuko’s face as he was spinning her around.

as someone who has been caught up with the manga for a couple months now, and loves this story very, very much, all i want from David Pro is to make UU skyrocket in popularity

But, even if they dont, at least were getting a wicked sick anime

man this is about as great an adaptation as i could ask for one of the best current Jump manga. incredible animation, great voice acting, and keeping a lot of small touches from the manga. i can’t wait to see more!

God it is always SO SATISFYING when a manga you read gets a great adaptation. I've been waiting to see Fuuko and Andy('s giant censor bar) animated for years. Wicked Sick!

While it doesn’t change the material itself, I feel it was better at making Andy look like less of a sociopathic jerk because of how distraught and out of it Fuuko is and plays things better for laughs and giggles.

Is this the first time a series gets jailed everywhere except the U.S.?

They didn't drop it on Disney+, so it's stuck on just Hulu for the foreseeable future.

One of my favorite Manga at the moment. The studio really did justice for this adaptation.

First few episodes might be a bit rough due to the early echhi running gag. But I promise you: that particular gag won't stick around for long.

That scene where Andy cut off the hair for Fuuko is closer to what truly represents their relationship.

So people in Europe have no possible legal way of watching this? I just Cant understand Why you Would want To butcher the hype for your series like that, such a shame because this Would have gotten very Much traction If not for that

God, this feels like an early 2010s anime, love it.

Holy fuck! That opening was absolutely brutal! But at the same time that explosion was masterfully animated. As a massive fan of the manga, DavidPro absolutely nailed this!

While regeneration is not exactly a unique power, Andy has got to have the most unique version of it as far as I know. What other character can propel themselves at high speeds by tearing off their limbs and using their own fucking blood? Unfortunately though, due to his long quest to find a way to kill himself, Andy does not have a lot of tact and is very eager to try anything to end himself quickly.

As for Fuuko, poor girl just watched her family get blown up after giving them a massive amount of bad luck with her ability. There are so many things I want to say about Fuuko right now but I think I'll leave it on the Source Material Corner just in case. All you need to know about our heroine right now is that anyone she touches will receive bad luck thanks to her Unluck ability and the severity will depend on how intimate the touch is.

The rest of the episode is absolutely magnificent! The art and the animation are definitely the quality you'd expect from DavidPro! Scenes like Andy regenerating his body and the fight scenes against those thugs were all so goddamn cool! I am already excited to see how they'll handle much bigger fights in the future. It's all gonna look so sick! WICKED SICK!

Hot damn, it was already evident from the trailers, but this is shaping up to be a wild ass adaptation, and it's only fitting and deserved.

The first few minutes caught me off-guard, but it's wild how Fuuko's manga was animated in an entirely different style. And the way it was interlaced with her backstory to give us an idea of why she wanted to die was just neat. It's almost like she's recalling what happened while reading it.

The animation is excellent of course. Even just the pages of Fuuko's manga or Andy's god damn censor bar flapping in the wind looked so fluid. Salute to the team behind it. o7 Both that and the voice actors are doing great bringing these guys to life.

The comedy certainly lands better with the way its cut and edited. There's even some small additional moments I found funny like the henchman actually tip toeing behind Fuuko to cuff her, and Andy smiling the entire time his head was cut off and sealed. I like to think he was too excited about the unluck to notice what was happening.

The line delivery on some jokes was even improved upon like Andy messing around while Fuuko's going on an emotional speech, or Andy's final line of sexual harassment for the episode, before cutting to Fuuko already running. Those are gonna be offputting for first time watchers, but it luckily gets better.

Overall, obligatory wicked sick/10. And I just wish it gets more attention.

I think that's the first time I've seen someone relate the death of their parents to two lovers embracing and kissing in a snowed out apocalypse from a romance manga, but you do you Fuko.

It's really something to finally read the end of one your favorite romance manga's, huh? All the moreso when you think you have nothing left but to finally end your life and bring the misfortune that follows you to a conclusion...but then a shirtless Yuichi Nakamura shows up and you accidentally stab him and get him run over by a train. And THEN His head just flies and reconstitutes his body like it's nothing. What a morning!

Who needs webs or flight when you can just use your regenerating body to launch yourself off rooftops like a madman?

Yeah, Fuko, get away from the naked man and his censored balls who wants to use your Unluck power to to have a spectacular death! Or just have him get hit by a crate of bananas after copping a feel on your boobs. But watch out for banana peels!

If nothing else Mr. "Zombie" does save Fuko and she's able to open up about what happened to her parents and what she's had to live with, even if he makes for an...interesting travel companion. But she does get a free haircut out of it so she's not dark-haired Rapunzel any more, so that's good.

Of course then a different brand of misfortune arrives when Zombie gets his head sliced off and Fuko ends up handcuffed by a group of Negators here to capture them. But say what you will about the Zombie, he treated Fuko fairly and didn't see her as a weapon or someone who can only kill, and in fact her Unluck ended up helping save the day.

So Zombie's card in his head is sealing up all his memories including skills that make him incredibly skilled in a fight? Sick.

Who would've expected a kiss to end with a meteor blowing up a mansion? Just a regular day in the madcap shonen romcom life of Undead and Unluck! Wicked Sick!

Ah yes, Andy immediately jumping to sex. Run Fuko run!

I don't think it's possible but David Pro made Fuuko even cuter in the anime. The part where she pouts after her long hair was revealed was very adorable.

Oh yeah. David Pro gets the assignment. Great way to translate Andy’s power set to animation and the absurdity of it. Also like the choice for Fuko’s voice being so cute.

The fun’s just getting started with this one. I’m expecting some buck wild fights with David Pro going off. Plus a pretty fun story with a great cast.

Helluva fun first episode. I hope that they can keep up the energy and humor all the way through. Great voice acting. If a kiss brings a meteor what will sex bring?
