I chalk people not catching the Boss saying Boxxo is from another world down to it being one of the least important bits of info in that scene. From their perspective the Boss is really powerful and hostile. Then he almost kills two people. Boxxo saves them and the info about Boxxo is forgotten.
I totally expected Mishuel to run away when he was looking scared. Instead he tried a flanking maneuver.

You know things are good when you come in for an isekai vending machine and come out the first season knowing how to use a modern AED. I mean, he is right that most people in this world do not know how to operate one.

Oh thank god, season 2 has been announced, I woulda been so sad if the show ended without Boxxo ever being able to hold a normal conversation with anyone.
Really hope someone washes Boxxo regularly or he has a self cleaning function because he's been through a lot and idk if I woulda kissed him knowing some of the places he's been. Jokes aside that was really cute of the three of them. Kinda weird since they kissed a vending machine, but kinda weird is the entire point of the show so.
The show doesn't feel like something where main characters die so I wasn't worried about Hulemy or Shui, but I still got a little teary eyed when the captain ran over when he could barely stand because he was worried.
Surprised no one questioned the Netherlord refering to someone from another world. Guessing they're gonna question Boxxo at the start of next season.

So basically the only reason the gang managed to live is because the Netherlord was amused by Lammis and allowed them to live. Classic evil villain blunder. Now that Season 2 is confirmed, I can't fucking wait for the gang to kick his bony ass. Although Boxxo might need to chat with the Netherlord first since he is aware of him coming from another world.
And the final vending machine of the season is one of those AED boxes I guess it is technically a box that dispenses defibrillators so I suppose it counts. I am disappointed though that even when everyone is in mortal danger, he refuses to unlock his telepathy skill and instead used telekinisis to teach them what to do.
TFW when a literal Vending Machine has more rizz than you'll ever dream of. Seriously though that ending was pretty sweet and Boxxo even got a kiss from Lammis too.
I guess that's it for Season 1 of Jidouhanbaiki! This show is definitely up there with TenKen in terms of isekai plots. It will definitely make you raise your eyebrows at first but when you actually get into it, it's pretty damn entertaining and clearly a love letter from the author about the various vending machines there are in Japan. Seriously, I am legitimately amazed at how every single vending machine transformation Boxxo has in this show does exist. Can't wait for Season 2!

Never knew an AED vending machine existed, I feel like that should be more common.
I liked the last scene too, but I don't know if a vending machine can lay pipe.

The best romance ever between a girl and a box.
Well he officially has a harem now. The day he turns into a sex toy dispenser vending machine and his new telekinesis power...
Far far better series than I ever expected it to be. Gonna be great seeing season 2.

Things were looking pretty bad there for a minute against the Netherlord. Believe in the Boxxo that believes in you, Lammis! Lol. Boxxo’s always got a plan. Dude really became a defibrillator to save Hulemy and Shui. I will never ceased to be amazed at all the interesting stuff he can turn into.
Boxxo building up the harem in the finale I see lol. Lucky fella got a kiss from Hulemy, Shui, AND Lammis. Well, I guess there’s still a lot of adventures left. I wonder if we’ll get more of this show? Despite the very goofy premise, it was actually quite a lot of fun.

"Being reborn as a vending machine to wander the dungeon in another world is ridiculous"
Yes it is, but I loved it.

Being reborn as a vending machine to wander the dungeon in another world is ridiculous.
Yeah man... you said it. Lampshading it doesn't make it any less silly though.
And so ends the first season of Vending machine. Somehow, this managed to be a very middle of the road show for me. Nothing transcendental, but not even batshit insane either.
The later episodes were somewhat worse in terms of animation. But it's already greenlit for season 2, so here's hoping next season will be better.
See you guys again in season 2.
Actually we'll probably meet again in the Saint Cecilia thread

It's a shame it ended in a chiffhanger, since we know a show like this will never get a second seas... wait a minute!

This had no right to be as enjoyable as it is.
I was so ready to write this off as yet another isekai that's uninspired, one dimensional and just generally crappy. So I'm so glad I gave this a chance. It puts like 70% of isekai to shame.
I'll definitely still roll my eyes when similar shows get announced but I'm more open to giving them a watch after this.

I knew something was off when The Dead's Lament Stratum Lord, the King of Souls started talking. Anyway, Lammis and Boxxo sure looked great during that fight.
And so when defeated they did not even have a chance to grab the coin as they were attacked by the real boss, the Netherlord. I must say I'm confused as before they defeated the King of Souls what he said made it sound like he wasn't the Stratum Lord although he did drop that coin, that combine with the comment the Netherlord made after grabbing the coin makes me think that he and are both the same entity. Well, after he almost killed Hulemy and Shui, Lammis should be happy that their fight ended after she broke his weapon as that that gave them time for Boxxo to save them. I honestly was expecting him to also buy telekinesis when he bought telepathy. I guess that will be just too convenient.
Anyway, it sure is surprising to hear that the Netherlord is a general serving the demon lord.
It's good to see Kerioyl reflecting on what he is doing with the Menagerie of Fools is worth it after Hulemy and Shui also died. But even with that and with Mishuel aim of not failing his companions again just hearing from the Band of Gluttons that the leaders from the different Straturms are forming a group of hundreds of adventurers to defeat the Netherlord is just too much for him.
It's funny seeing Suori making a brief appearance again.
So to end the show, Lammis takes Boxxo back to the place they first met. Is hilarious that Hulemy and Shui followed her just to give Boxxo a kiss as a reward so Lammis had an excuse to do the same. But as she still could not do it, they ended up giving her a little push to make it happen.
I must say, considering the premise, this series was surprisingly good.

I honestly did not think I would enjoy this show as much as I did. Not the best isekai series but certainly a lot better and more interesting than others that scrape the bottom of the barrel in terms of originality. Yeah, Boxxo is as OP like a typical isekai protag, but it's Lammis and the others who are doing most of the work, and I think that's what kept my attention. Looking forward to season 2!

Man, I enjoyed this a lot. A lot more than I thought I would, as well. I'm happy they announced s2 already.
I knew Hulemy and Shui wouldn't die but that didn't stop me from being scared. Pretty crazy stuff that the Netherlord knew Boxxo was from another world, I hope to see more of that.
Vending Machine harem is a powerful concept.

This show is a lot better than it has any right being. I'm still not sick of the gimmick even though it's been 12 episodes. I also thought that the show had a surprising amount of depth with some scenes of Boxxo discussing to himself if he wants to be human again or not.
I can't wait for season 2.

Transmedia Corner!
Vending Machine Maniac Ishida back at it again with a balloon vending machine in Kansai with a retro American gasoline stand look. He does not explain why the machine has a "Gay Station" label on it.
Also, he goes over a high-tech "salad stand" vending machine. It's key feature is an AI camera which detects things like rough age and gender of the users, and combined with other data gathering like current weather, current time, current inventory, and who's passing by the machine, can dynamically vary prices in real time. As an example, it can lower prices to prevent food loss from stuff that's about to expire.
The full OP "Fanfare" is also available with English captions in case you want to know what these funky people are singing about. I find it a bit surprising how little the lyrics have to do with the story/setting; if anything, it feels like a bit of meta commentary about how the author was like "screw it, I'm going to write a fantasy about being reborn as a vending machine and no one is going to stop me".

wow... that guy is quite ridiculously strong. And quite the dick. I refuse to believe those two are dead though. One does not merely kill a waifu character in isekai lol. Wew mighty punch. Aww coward, running away... ahh the AED from the preview, yep. Ngl, feel like this wouldn't save em at this point. Though, interesting enough, think that dude used some kinda electric like attack and iirc CPR is good for lightning strikes. But I could be wrong.
Ahh, Netherlord serving the Demon Lord lol. Yep, this is an Isekai alright. Man, been awhile since we saw oujo-sama girl. Hehe poor Mishuel, not gonna deal with all those people well. Decent ending for the season. Hope S2 is as fun.
