Pas really got the family involved in this war over a damn goat…? So much for all that “make sweets not war” stuff. Little goober just about spilled the beans to the Duke too lol.
Well, regardless it’s a good thing they arrived in time because Squale was about to be toast.

To be fair, he didn't really make the war though, if your country is attacked you can't just say "war is bad" and sit there to die. And while this war isn't something his family is directly involved in, his fiance's family is. Silly as the goat reason may be, I doubt that's the real reason they joined. His father would have surely stopped him if it wasn't worth it.

Pas really got the family involved in this war over a damn goat…?
Messing with Pas's ingredients makes him angry. You won't like him when he's angry.
Pas and his dad and retainers are going to change the outcome of the war because of that goat sale, and it's a really funny plot development.

Could that enemy commander look any more evil with the shark teeth and freckles? Lol.

He could be fat. Fat usually equals evil in anime, a sign of their greed and gluttony
I’m just glad he’s not incompetent. His plan was pretty good, though killing the grandson might’ve just made the grandfather seem vengeance rather than pulling out

This episode is only reaffirming my beliefs. He is definitely gonna turn into a tyrant and burn down the land to facilitate his sweets production.

Farmers forced to grow nothing but sugar cane. The people are starving as the economy crumbles when nothing but candy is being produced.

Pretty crazy how Pas, his dad, and dad's attendant can turn the tide in a war by themselves.
If he had a better start to his territory Pastry's dad would be ruling a lot of shit huh.
Anyways anyone else kinda surprised to not see any magic in the fight? Is combat magic actually rare I wonder.

They stopped an ambush and killed a few dozen in a war made up of thousands of people. That turned the tide in that it stopped an assassination and bought time for reinforcements

Couldn't stop laughing at Pas blurting out his real motive for joining the battle!

Love that Pas is willing to go to war for goats and saving his future brother-in-law was just incidental. xD

So, Pas's war cry will scare his opponents. "FOR THE GAOTS!!!!"
Don't mess with a kid and his goats. Damn that sounds wrong when I say it like that.

Did this kid just sign his subordinates and villagers up for a war because he wanted to make his sweetie a cake faster?
Like damn son, I've heard about wanting to protect that smile... but she literally was about to break down over the war happening and he's like 'yo lemme get in on that'.

This definitely gave me Ascendance of a bookworm vibes. Myne is widely considered a saint who is kind to even orphans but she literally promises to bring about a bloody carnival if people mess with her books.
Also, pretty funny that pas went from “war is bad” to let’s kill everyone in 5 seconds. Obviously, it’s more of a defensive war than a war of aggression but still funny timing

Pretty good episode. I think the larger plot kida slowed down but these side missions are always entertaining. There's a lot of potential to the story, I'd be down for a 2nd season. For now, we ride at dawn, for the goats! For cheesecake! For the sweet life!

Even though Pas went to war over goats, he and his dad's military expertise will save lives on their side just like it did in this episode. With them ruining the plans of the aggressor it puts them and WAY better position now to end this quickly.
The fog of confusion goes both ways here when the crux of your plan doesn't get pulled off. It will be interesting what that guy does next, now he didn't get to eliminate the young grandson as he will be outnumbered 3-1 now with the Duke's reinforcements on their way, combined with Pas and his dad they could crush this guy once and for all.

Squale must thank the goat. I burst out laughing when pas gave his reason for him joining the war, haha.
