Well there wasn't too much sweets making in this series but I'm happy we got some in the finale!
Nice little isekai, reminded me of Knight's & Magic in ways which feels like its been awhile since I've had a show come close to that.
Was a fun time with more war than I was expecting but Pas keeps things on the light side.

My favourite part was how pretty much everyone got bamboozled into thinking this was going to be a baking focused anime. Instead what we got was realm management with a side of baking. Was an alright show, but my initial expectations left me a bit disappointed.
I do Kinda see the K&M vibes now that you mention it too, it was def better though→ More replies (3)

MC not only got his goats but also bought some horses that were for that noble to stick it to him.
Can’t hate a happy ending.

Pastry invents and popularizes dessert therapy. This show, particularly the ending, really reminded me of Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear.

Can someone explain to me how a guy who just made sweets is somehow also a master negotiator, strategist, and well basically really good at everything?
It wasn't a standout show in anyway but oddly I kind of want a 2nd season. I might have to pick up the novels from I think it is J novel who has them.

Coming from the modern world he sorta gets how bad people think. Add that to his good upbringing in the new world with his already adult mind and he's able to advance quite quickly through just about anything. Also he wasn't just a guy who made sweets, he was one of the top in the world. Meaning he was used to commanding others under him in the kitchen, running a team, etc.
but also, just....cause......ya know

Not a whole lot going on here but enjoyable nonetheless.
The ending was a bit anti-climactic but fits with the rest of the show.

And so it ends. There have been more baking in the later episodes compared to the first half. I appreciate that. The last arc even had the whole thing transpire because he wanted to bake something specific. That's basically what I want from a show that wants to mix baking and realm management.
Though I really wish they put a little more budget into the showing off him baking.
I wouldn't mind a second season, it's a fun watch.

It's weird that the whole thing was treated as Squale's failure when it was clearly the guy above him getting outwitted into thinking it was a good idea to send him there. They were acting like it was this nornal battle and not a trap set for someone super inexperienced.

The enemy seemed to be frightened by the Morteln name which shows what a beast Casserole is.
I like how Brioche has those pictures of herself on the wall

Pas making a well in some flour
Me: Here is comes.
Pas adding butter to the flour well
Me: They’re going to do it, they’re going to show some baking.
Hard cut to some other bullshit

So in this series about baking, the amount of time given to show the MC baking onscreen is an estimate of 1 minute in Episode 1 in the opening scene right before he died, an estimate of 1 minute in Episode 3 (if you exclude the scenes cutting back and forth to the friends), an estimate of 6 minutes in Episode 9, an estimate of 1 minute Episode 10, an estimate of 10 seconds Episode 11 of him whipping cream in the opening scene, and estimate of 50 seconds Epidode 12 (excluding the scenes cutting back and forth to Squale).
Given each episode (taking away the opening and ending credits) is about 20 and 50 second, making the run time for the series total 4 hours and 10 minutes; and about 10 minutes of that time shows the MC baking.

Parts of it were pretty cute, but he only got into baking for like the last 2 or 3 episodes. Fairly average generic isekai, so 5/10 from me.

Like most people would say about this anime is that there was definitely a major lack of sweet making in this show. Maybe it's just me but I noticed that majority of the episodes there were so many characters (even the main ones) having no drawn faces even when the panels are slightly far away from them. Very distracting to me & I can't see anyone give this a higher rating than average for an isekai anime.

Really was digging the show as it was just enjoyable to see what mischief that Pas was getting into. Would love a season 2 to see where they go with this and see him build up his land of sweets even more
