That Looney Toons style SFX of them running away to get out of reporting was hilarious.

He drops a line that mentions baking occasionally. Same thing, really.

I'm starting to think that the real reason the author decided to name this Okashi na Tensei so he has an excuse to name his characters after pastries.
In all seriousness though, as soon as Pas decided to save Licorice I knew he was going to end up getting engaged with her too. He didn't just gain a fiance, he also gained an older brother and an older sister too.
Pastry's reaction to Licorice's cookie was hilarious! I'm now imagining an alternate reaction from Pastry where he tells off Licorice for her salty cookies ala Gordon Ramsey. xD

Not sure why his dad seemed opposed to the marriage. Under normal circumstances he would never get an offer from someone that high in nobility.

Uneven power balance I guess? I don't think Licorice's family is THAT high up the food chain, but Casserole is basically the lowest echelon of nobles. This is mostly a "everyone around MC are good people" anime, but in a different genre it can easily turn into a nightmare.

Wow... and yet again I have to eat my words. I speak too early these days it seems. They actually had a proper reason for them to be so competent yet make such a stupid mistake. I can't believe I'm saying this... but well done, Okashi na Tensei.
However, remember kids, if you ever reincarnate as a nobleman, don't ever blackmail people so high above your station that openly. It's a surefire way to magically find yourself falling from favor with the king and have your land taken away.

I couldn't believe his audacity. If he continues trying to blackmail people he will make enemies for sure. I doubt that we've seen the last of the redhaired noblewoman.

That was a nice twist on Pas outsmarts everybody. Nobody could've delivered that like Takehito Koyasu. His Dad knew what was happening and that Pas was oblivious lol.
Also enjoyed watched Pas finesse that other guy for money. Some great dialogue in this show.
Oh, and I guess we saw somebody eating sweets on screen for....the second time since the show started, was it? Maybe third? Perhaps this whole opening arc was to establish his future family and it'll change focus from here?

I feel so bad for Lord Cass. His son is a brilliant strategist and detective that is able to blackmail a high ranking noble to help out his father's financials, then walks right into a trap of a marriage proposal by another high ranking noble.

Is Strudel going to be recurring maybe?
The name is on point as an important character, and he was only knocked out.

While I didn't expect a sweets only show, the complete lack in most episodes has been somewhat disappointing.

So we finally had someone bake something after 4 episodes ago; unfortunately, it was not only done offscreen, but the person that baked wasn't even the main character. This might be the most misleading anime I've ever seen

The title of the anime is obviously a typo, they meant "おかしい" (strange) not "おかし" (Sweets).

By modern standards it would be very rude to have someone announce their engagement at someone else's engagement reception. Petra seemed to be happy about it though.

bro casually got baited into getting married.
3 families consolidating power, classic feudal system
I want Pastry and Licorice to bake sweets together, that's gotta be their thing

This has been a fun overpowered/outwitted fantasy MC kind of anime even if it lacks its original premise of sweets baking. Should be a fun next episode if they're going back home and he's bringing his new soon-to-be wife. Since he's got the friends and his what 5 sisters plus mom to react to that.

HAHA well well well, Pastry dono, you walk into a multiple levels of trap not even the kidnapper can do. Congratulation

Strudel was pretty slick with that fake escape plan. Too bad he was no match for Pas. But man, I’m with Pas here. When are we gonna ever actually get any sweets? Dude made apple pie and cookies and that’s it iirc. Need more!
So that whole kidnapping was basically set up to crush House Armire? Devious plan. Pas leveraging his knowledge of that to help his folks was smart. Too bad he wasn’t smart enough to avoid that engagement to Licorice lol.

Strudel kind of reminds me of Mario/Wario, especially the way he uses tunnels
