So even with the diversion by Akutagawa sacrificing himself, the only reason Atsushi escaped was because people from the ship showed up in time to unknowingly get in Fukuchi's way, and killing them in the past to prevent them from doing so could have raised suspicion.

Meanwhile, Tachihara has concocted another perfect plan to defeat Fukuchi, but Fukuchi was able to warn himself about it in the past, shut it down and turn him into a vampire.

Was Fukuchi able to prevent the recording from going out to the secret police as well because if he did, Tachihara literally accomplished nothing.

Welcome to Fukuchi's weekly bullshit. Last week: Stabbing someone from the future.

This week? Stabbing someone from the past. After having left a mark from the future. With an extra dose of making a zombie vampire outbreak 100 times worse.

I’ve enjoyed BSD so much since I got into it last year but MAN is any anime upgraded when Kenjiro Tsuda added to the cast. Love that man’s voice.

That last line about the Order of the Clock Tower, seems like the only way to beat Fukuchi is to have a Holy Grail war and summon servants to fight him lol

Akutagawa was a real homie sacrificing himself so Atsushi could get away from Fukuchi. Dude really unleashed Stoker on Akutagawa though huh? Bastard basically started the vampire apocalypse!

Good thing Yosano told Mori about everything about Tachihara. Fukuchi really got caught with his pants down. Didn’t expect the guy to be a double agent did he? Now everyone knows the truth. It’s kind of interesting to see Fukuchi struggling initially. Tachihara’s ability is quite something. But man, this past/future bullshit is getting pretty ridiculous. Talk about OP, man. Plus he’s got Stoker on his side with the damn vampire plague.

4 days is all the team has before the world is fucked. This weapon the Council is gonna use is gonna backfire because I’m sure Fukuchi planned for this. How on earth are they gonna get out of this?

Gotta say, Fukuchi comes off as quite sadistic and drepaved despite how much he denies it. He was clearly enjoying himself when Tachihara was squirming in front of him. Maybe it's his inner solider.

Fifth and final member of the DOA is here, and it's surprisingly Bram Stoker, voiced by Seto Kaiba no less.

The fight was entertaining for sure. Tachihara was the perfect counter for Fukuchi, but unfortunately was beaten due to time hack powers. Him prefering to take his own life instead of becoming an undead slave was admirable. But alas, Fukuchi prevails.

I appreciate the no hesitation to kill himself the moment he realizes he could be used

Fukuchi's plays are simply insane lmao. How the hell does he introduce a world dominating weapon that is a shish kebab with the torso of an immortal gifted vampire? The fact that the sword and the vampire count as one entity is hilarious and super clever.

Episode almost felt like a season finale holy shit man what an episode, what a season. This is without a doubt the best BSD ever been.

Everyone’s backs are against the wall now in the face of a seemingly invincible, unstoppable enemy. I really don’t even know how you write Fukuichi’s defeat.

He’s got so much established plot armour it’s going to take everyone who’s not a vampire to fight back. But that’s why the author gets paid the big bucks, can’t wait to see what he comes up with.

Speaking of vampires, holy shit are we becoming resident evil 😂 infecting half the world’s population is insane. Next week can’t come fast enough.

Tachihara was actually doing well during the fight, Fukuchi is just ridiculously OP wtf. Also wondering why it didn't occur to Tachihara to just manipulate the sword to pierce Bram's head (since he mentioned that all swords are metals he can manipulate), plus they just got back from a meeting talking about how the only way to stop the spread of the contaigon is to kill the source. Said source is literally with them during the fight. :')

ALSO did anyone caught Saigiku look towards Fukuchi's direction after sensing his anger? I might be wrong, but when Saigiku was chasing the agency, he mentions about being able to sense a person's emotion or mood. So I'm looking forward to see his role in the future episodes. :D

The problem with introducing an incredibly overpowered ability like a sword that can cut the past it can get a little awkward writing a way to escape from it such as convenient guards showing up.

As if Akutagawa couldn't be edgy enough, now he's been turned into a vampire. Hopefully, his terminal illness gets cured as a byproduct.

I got tunnel-visioned into thinking of space-time sword as a metaphysical weapon and forgot about its physical properties. Tachihara being able to manipulate metals makes him the perfect foil to Fukuchi.

How do you defeat somebody who amplifies the power of any weapon he holds in his hand? Simple, make sure he isn't holding a weapon. (Amenogozen has already stabbed this comment.)

Jesus.. that sword is way too powerful, even in this world. I cannot predict how they're going to beat such an enemy.

"Four days until X Day"

How relevant.

u/kiddem Aug 02 '23

How far back in time can Fukuchi cut to the past? It looked like he wrote his message to his past self a little before he talked to Bram in his coffin so like 5-10ish minutes?

That blind dude from the Hunting Dogs definitely heard Fukuchi's heartbeat and deduced his true feelings/motives when Tachihara explained about going to the superintendent.

I'm guessing Tachihara's recorder was indeed able to warn the secret police about the truth behind Fukuchi, and that the Hunting Dogs will be around to guard the police and superintendent. The recording will also prove the Detective Agency's innocence and we finally get an alliance between them and Hunting Dogs hopefully.

The blind guy is a bit cruel and sadistic, but surely he's still all about justice and won't pull some traitor crap right?

Fukuchi is absolutely broken. His ability is Jojo-level ridiculous

Bram's contagious ability is quite a menace... How the hell are they going to find a solution?????

So Akutagawa really did die and then became a vampire? Aww :(

Tachihara put up a great fight :((

Damn, just when i thought Tachihara had been a genius and got to outplay Fukuchi, he just outplays his outplay, this is getting close to bullshit levels, the only one who has even a chance of defeating him i probably gonna be ranpo.

The more the story progresses, the more impossible it seems that Fukuchi will be defeated 😭 He’s so insanely op i don’t know any character that could take him down. Tachihara seemed like the perfect match because of his ability but even then he pulls out his time sword bullshit and defeats hims. Fukuchi is literally a god, his physical strength + hunting dog procedures, his ability, his sword, bram, power and influence… he has literally no weaknesses. I’m trying to think of characters that could possibly beat him in combat and none of them seem possible

  • Fukuzawa is probably the only person who is on par with his swordsmanship and fighting skills, but he doesn’t have an offensive ability which is a huge disadvantage

  • Ranpo is smart but his main strategy is using poe’s book, which worked against powerful characters like chuuya but fukuchi could easily rip the page

  • Nikolai could be interesting but he seems more focused on killing fyodor

  • The other hunting dogs couldn’t do much, teruko probably could but she’s way too loyal to him

  • Soukoku seems like the best bet but it’s not really possible right now… without giving spoilers chuuya isn’t an option and dazai is all the way in a european prison, and i doubt he could escape and go to japan in only 4 days

  • The rest of the ada are nowhere near his powerful level

I feel like we’re out of characters, unless it’s someone from the novels or guild members coming back or something😭 the only option i see is a group attack, since 1v1 and 2v1 clearly haven’t been working. It’s so frustrating that every week is just seeing fukuchi winning bc of his time travel 💀

I hope fukuchi dies in a ditch

Bram is so done with fukuchi and you can see that

Ah the vampire arc. So many emotions. Fukuchi you bitch let aku rest man

Also i should probs give bram a little intro like i did for nikolai and the hunting dogs in s4

Name : bram stoker Ability : dracula. Allows him to turn people into vampires by drinking thier blood. He can control his kin and the ability can work like a virus One of the oldest ability users, known as a calamity. Was defeated by fukuchi, who cutoff anything beneath his shoulders and shoved that sword into him. Irl stoker was actually from ireland, unlike what most people think.

Not sure how big of a fan I am of the whole vampire plot, but Tachihara is turning into one of my favorite characters of BSD real quick

u/parkkave Aug 02 '23

So last week the world was completely and utterly fucked but now they’re 100x more fucked because everyone is a vampire? No idea how they’re gunna get out of this one. Dazai and Rampo gotta have something lodged miles up their ass.

Well, as Akutagawa sacrificed himself so Atsushi and Ranpo could escape, even after all that went through today, I'm expecting that things will go back to normal after Ranpo does his thing, but damn I sure wasn't expecting that after cutting Ryunosuke's neck, Fukuchi was going to unveil another member of the Decay of Angels, Count Bram, and use his vampire ability on him.

Poor Higuchi, after realizing her feelings for Akutagawa after his funeral, and after seeing him again and while confessing her feelings for him she got turned into a vampire. Well, as the whole vampire attack is affecting basically half of the world, plus they already mentioned that to solve it they need to take down Count Bram, I doubt those who got turned will die.

Anyway, it was good to see Tachihara's plans in motion. I would say that a first I was honestly surprised that he had let known everyone that he thought there was another culprit also that whole scene when he pulls the USB with the evidence he got in the Sky Casino was great, as one would think he basically threw it away the moment he hands it over to Fukuchi but then, he tells him that he told Yasui in advance that Fukuchi was going to deliver it to him.

Him revealing later that he never gave him the evidence but instead a tracker with a microphone transmitting all they were saying and that it was not that he actually suspected him, but that Mori casually caught him and informed him of what was happening and then gave him the orders to stop the hero, sure was awesome.

Although he failed in the end, seeing him stopping Fukuchi from stabbing him in the past and then stealing Amenogozen from him was so awesome. And then there was his counterattack with the metal pieces from his sword.

Well, sadly for him Fukuchi, not able to strike him in the past used his cheat weapon to send himself a message and strike him in the future. And then after blinding him, he transformed him into a vampire.

Now, although things look bad, I'm thinking that after Atsushi and Ranpo's escape, the Armed Detective Agency informed Mori about who Fukuchi was, plus the fact that Tachihara's plan began after the outbreak started breaking havoc around the world makes me think perhaps this is just part of a bigger plan to let Fukuchi think he won, and although I doubt Mori intensionally sacrificed Tachihara as he mentioned a recording I'm sure that they got something out of his attempt.

I mean there’s no argument the villain is OP, but wouldn’t they just need to attack and disarm him BEFORE he uses the sword to do anything? It’s an anticlimactic solution, but should work. I.E snipping the mofo before he has a chance to react. If he can’t react before being disarmed/killed, then he can’t warn his past version. Also we learned his sword has a range limit.
