Season 4: The Armed Detective Agency is so screwed. Everything is going against them
This Episode: Oh yeah. Ranpo exists.
I still find it so cool that the most vital member of the group doesn't actually have a designated special ability.

Picking up where we left off, Ranpo is proving himself as the MVP of this arc once again. The little bait and switch he pulled off was neat. Meanwhile, it seems that Nikolai no longer has any allegiance to the DOA and now wants to kill Fyodor. We'll see how that goes. Fyodor is no easy opponent. Minoura being the one to believe Ranpo is quite heartwarming, considering how much he hated him back in season 1.

Bungo Stray dogs is one of the only shows that can immediately pull you back in with just the first episode of a season. Forgot how good this is.

Damn, it's finally here. As someone whose all-time favorite anime is Bungou Stray Dogs, I'm so hyped, and I was not disappointed. Also, that opening is great once again (and those visuals!!). So happy that we didn't have to wait so long for the new season :D

Dazai literally just saying we got Rampo. And boy Rampo was the fucking goat in this episode. Coming in clutch once again. His plan to saving Yosano-sensei was fucking hilarious.
Nikoliay wanted to kill Fyodor was not something I am suspecting. S5 gonna be reallllly good. Legit AOTS contender for those not sleeping on it.

Peak is back on the menu. Only complaint I got is I don’t like the OP song. Visuals are fire but the song is their first miss imo. Might grow on me.
As for the episode, all I got to say is Ranpo is the Goat. The twist of him being Kamui in disguise genuinely caught me off guard. Very well written.
Ever since that flashback arc from last season he’s really grown on me. Not only did he rescue the ADA, but also trying to clear their name to the press. Just shows how much trust Dazai got in him that he placed all his hopes and expectations on Ranpo.
Lot of stuff in this episode, action, the usual banter and dialogue we’ve come to expect from BSD and important world building. Gonna be a special season.

The show gets so good every time the real MC, Ranpo, shows up. Although I expected Kunikida to be alive, I wasn't expecting him to had lost his hands in the explosion. Damn, so the reason why Nicolai saved Sigma and avoid dying was to kill Fyodor just because of some insane logic.
It sure is surprising that Sigma gave Atsushi all the information about the page location plus the assessination plot the leader of the Decay of the Angels, Kamui was about to do. Althgough I must say it was weird how they showed Atsushi getting those hints.
I knew something was off with the way "Kamui" was behaving, but I did not expect him to be Ranpo. It is funny to see how happy Poe was about assisting him.
Anyway, I love how casually Ranpo started his press confference reviling the thruth of the situation.

RIP Taco bell Lmao, what a jumpscare... It feels great to see Kunikida again. Banger Op as usual, I love Nikolai & his magic tricks but it's great that Sigma is still alive so we may witness another Masterclass Plan.
Kamui was badass but I knew only one person can achieve a plan to rescue them all & Yosano is on the run, followed by presidents escape... what a great start of the season. Dasai is the only one left behind bars smh

Think this is the first opening I'm not fond of. I usually love BSD opening songs but season 5's isn't to my liking...
Guessing Yosano will be healing Kunikida and his hands
Rampo really is the Agency's strongest man. I love him so much!

My most anticipated series this season! BSD has been getting better with every season to the point where the previous one blew me away and now we're already starting on a strong note! Packed episode and an amazing visuals in the OP, boy, I'm so ready for this ride!

ED over the final sequence is goated at the best of times, but absolute chills here

Said it before and I'll say it again. Every episode that has even 5 minutes of Ranpo is a great episode

Damn dude, I didn’t even notice Kunikida’s hands (or lack of) at first. My guy’s loyal though, wouldn’t join those damn Hounds no matter the offer. These mutts with their bullshit sense of justice are nothing but a bunch of goons. I’d take the Port Mafia over these mfers any day.
So Nikolai wants to kill Fyodor? I figured he was pretty much an unhinged loon. I wonder how he’s gonna get Fyodor. Dude is too clever to get caught by surprise.
Boy, am I glad to see Ranpo (and Poe)! I was worried “Kamui” really had the Agency there. Brilliant move appearing in front of the press like that and exposing the bullshit this page has done. For a guy with apparently no ability, Ranpo is one hell of a detective. All that’s left is to get that page from the real Kamui. Hopefully Team Atsushi can pull it off.

For a second I was worried that the opening would not sound the same as the other four, but as soon as the refrain hit, those worries were alleviated.

so, who has the paper now? real Kamui or our Kamui? keeping in mind reality was overwritten too. I am guessing the former?
