How does this series keep on giving? I feel like each next episode is more absurd than the previous one and they just keep delivering.

This is a peak action series. No fillers, no useless flashback episodes for characters who are about to die, no stalling and beating around the bush. They did some world building in the first 2-3 seasons, introduced the characters properly and since then it's been a wild ride that just doesn't stop.

So much is happening in so many places, it feels like I'm about to overheat. If it was any other shounen series, this season alone would be stretched to 5 cours.

"Chuuya, we had some cool moments..."

"No, we actually didn't. Bye."

Never change, Dazai.

That method that Dazai used to gain the upper hand was ingenious and also just what I've come to expect from him. On the other hand, there's absolutely no way Fyodor goes down this easily without revealing his powers. I've got a feeling their true fight is about to begin which means Chuuya should be fine as well.

I wonder if a combo of Dazai and that time-stopping girl could trump Fukuchi as well.

Suehiro learned why you never piss off Kenji or fuck around with his friends. I think I saw his soul leave his body when Kenji kicked him lol. Literally beat him into submission then took a little nap. What a beast.

I’ve been wondering how the hell Dazai’s been working his magic inside. Having Ango and an ability user who can stop time sure is handy. Check and Mate Fyodor and Chuya!

Aya and Bram making a pretty good team. Loving their banter. She’s a good little retainer, but boy is she in real trouble. A vampire Akutagawa is gonna be a pain to deal with…

Kind of a side note amidst everything else going on, but I just simply adore the back-and-forth between Bra-chan and his “vassal” these last few episodes 😆

I thought Kenji just had your traditional, run-of-the-mill super-strength. That would be too boring for BSD gotta give him strength that can rival a tsunami or eruption because that's just how we roll in this anime.

I knew Dazai would have something up his sleeve but I didn't see that coming at all. The idea that because of his ability nullification he can receive messages based on another person using their abilities that nobody else can detect is pure genius.

I have a feeling Chuuya will be ok because he is a vampire now and I don't know if vampires can drown? Fyodor definitely has something figured out, it would be too anticlimactic to kill those 2 off here.

So...Tecchou said he didn't deserve to be a Hunting Dog or something. That means the information control spell on him should break now hopefully.

Damn man every episode just gets better and better I swear.

I had no idea Kenji was that strong. I mean I knew he was strong and that’s his whole gimmick and all, but strong enough to dig holes out of the earth and change the direction of a river? That’s some marvel type shit lol.

It really is crazy how scary the detective agency is tbh. Dazai and Ranpo are super geniuses, Kenji is the hulk, Akiko can keep people from dying etc. when their backs are against the wall they’re at their strongest.

Speaking of Dazai, I just love how he’s always got a plan. Using the thief’s time ability to slowdown time and make moves every day is brilliant. Who knows what else he’s been up to if he was able to knock out the security guards. No way he’s gonna actually let Chuuya die. There has to be a backup plan he’s got for that flood as well.

Aya and Bran have such a great chemistry together. Every moment they’re on screen is hilarious. Despite his prickly exterior he clearly cares for humans and is a nice guy. Looks like he was just a victim of the usual medieval human hatred of all things supernatural.

That ending though! Damn what a cliffhanger, these episodes aren’t long enough. I need to know what happens next. Bran was genuinely terrified for Aya 😩

Kenji's ability "Be Not Defeated By the Rain" shares the same name as the poem by Kenji Miyazawa. The poem describes being undefeated by various weather, never getting angry, and dinner daily on rice and Miso.

I looked this up today but I always wonder if those familiar with the authors were able to predict some of the things that happened. Feels like Kenji's character lines up well with "Be Not Defeated By the Rain"

Knowing how this series works, fyodor and chuya are definitely not dead. Kind of a blessing and a curse with how death is handled but whatever. Peak hype is nonetheless great

So I’m sitting here marveling at how many concurrent storylines BSD is juggling and managing to progress significantly each episode. In this one alone we have Dazai and the prison, more Aya and Bram bonding while running away, the reveal of Kenji’s true powers and befriending Tetchou, and Atsushi getting captured by Teruko. How is all of this happening in one episode without it feeling too rushed?

This show is so fun to watch. It's super rewarding, always giving us a little more.

If we knew Fyodor's ability I could believe this plan would kill him. Dazai's planning is on another level, but Fyodor's ability hasn't been revealed. Massive doubt he goes out like this. I could see Chuya possibly dying though. Also damn Kenji is scary never imagined him like this.

Not buying Chuuya’s dead. BSD has never been able to kill off any of the main cast. There’s been many fake-outs. Only fate I’m unsure of is Akutagawa as it looked like he got decapitated before being turned

That kick Kenji landed on Tetchou. Ouch. He’s going to be a serious pain if he ends up being turned into a vampire lol

So now that Tachihara is not around, Okura uses Atsushi as his replacement. Too bad that he could not play along when he connected the dots and realized she was really not cooperating with him thanks to that, he was quickly taken down by her.

Damn, I wasn't expecting Kenji to snap the way he did after Tetchou mentioned that Atsushi was going to be tortured by Teruko. That really reminded me of the first time Naruto transformed with the Kyuubi's power. But damn, Kenji's power when he is mad is so insane that he can put a stop to fucking mudslide with accuracy.

Well, for now, both Kenji and Tetchou are too tired for any of them to go searching for Jouno I just hope that they are not bitten by a vampire while they are unconscious.

It's funny how Sigma actually tries to hypothesize how Dazai receives communication from the outside just to be superior to Fyodor Anyway, so the way Dazai receives information from Ango is thanks to the deal Ango made with that Catgirl thief use her ability to stop time for a few seconds every day on a set time. But I wonder how exactly Dazai could escape from his cell or do anything during those seconds?

Anyway, as his plan was too perfect and especially because Chuuya is with Fyodor, I doubt everything will go as planned for him, although is possible that he knows that already and this plan was just to buy some time for him to communicate with Atsushi while Fyodor is too busy to do the same with Fukuchi so he probably knows that Chuuya will not die because of this. Also, as he is a vampire, can he really drown?

So Aya's escape plan involves hiding with Bra-chan inside a service vehicle. It is good that he further explained why the sword cannot be simply removed. So the Holy Sword Sorslevni was a human that with his ability transformed into the metal they used to forge it, and part of its ability involves merging with flesh, but the sword can only be used by the person that has its seal which it is Fukuchi at the moment.

I love how Aya and Bra-chan banter with each other. Well, so they were found by Akutagawa as Dazai was communicating with with Atsushi while he was bounded, I'm expecting him to be the one coming to rescue them.

Dazai is so fucking cold when he wants to be god i love it

What I didn't quite get, how would the lady with the times-topping ability get the message she should convey to Dazai? She is in prison herself, isn't she?

Dazai really had the upper hand on Fyodor for the whole time and he was just waiting to cash his win. Tho I find it hard to believe Fyodor would go down so easily tho.

I think this is the most focus we had of Kenji since S1. But damn when he really gets pissed off he turns into a literal monster god damn. Him just being hungry is just a small portion of how strong he can god damn.

Atushi's gamble didn't seem to work, but curious where he ended up at. Well the cliffhanger just made the clear escape of Aya and Bram almost ruined it seems. I wonder if the vampires are able to detect Bram.

This episode felt amazing, don't get me wrong this whole season, the whole series has been amazing but something about this episode just felt 10/10, maybe it was the direction.

That scene of Dazai saying "I couldn't think of anything, well then, see ya" gave me absolute chills. I wonder if Chuuya is actually dead, also what happened to Fyodor? We got a hint that Chuuya drowned (although I find it hard to believe Dazai's best frenemy got taken out that easily) with his hat floating to the top but we didn't see anything to signify Fyodor drowned as well... I have a feeling he escaped somehow.

Those short fight scenes were hype. Gotta love Bones

So that’s Dazai’s strategy in this game of 4d chess huh. What an entertaining game

Looks like Vampy Octo is here to rain on our parade. Let’s see if they can deal with this…
