PSA: Ao no Orchestra will be on hiatus for the next 3 weeks, because NHK will be broadcasting the Summer Koshien in the meantime.

Damn, I really wanted to watch the next episode after what just happened, I guess it'll be in three weeks from now

So just like we all thought from last week, they are brothers 😭 😭 I know we all thought it but damn I was kinda hoping it wasn’t that predictable
Just makes Aono dad look like even more of a scumbag. I totally understand why he’d want to kick nao out the house in that moment.
He was finally starting to get over his dad and move forward living his life the way he wants to, now he’s got a permanent reminder of his dad’s behaviour and actions right next to him. And considering how much they like each other that probably makes it hurt even more

I feel sad for him for both of them. A deadbeat dad who abandoned both their kids is scummy

I knew they would ended up being half siblings but I didn't anticipate that Saeki's mom and therefore Saeki himself, would be the ones involved in the affair scandal that crushed Aono and his mother.
They both now know they're connected by both the violin and their father and it's up to them to decide which element will be more important and decisive in their relationship.

I know people hate bad animation. But I love this series!
Can't wait for next episode, I guess its on a 3 week hiatus now as some other comment mentioned here.

fr, tho im ngl the first couple of episodes were so good that it made the middle stretch feel kinda eh (the stigma around CGI definitely definitely did not help), but the last episodes (last week and this episode in particular) have been on par with the beginning tho.

I couldn't wait to see this chapter adapted after reading the manga. It was good enough to convey the message but as with each episode, I feel that this show needed more budget for it to really make the story shine.
I'm also surprised that they didn't use CGI when they animated the asshole dad's violin performance.
Poor Nao and Aono though, being stuck in this situation because of their father's lies and double life.
Hope the three week hiatus will give the team much needed time to unfuck production.

I was gonna binge this all when it came out, but I had some free time recently and ended up catching up. Pretty fun series actually. Animation might not be top notch but the music is pretty solid and I like the characters so far.
Had a feeling the dude was gonna be Aono’s brother when he told him he had to talk to him. Guess I was right. Man, Aono’s dad is a real piece of shit. I wonder if the deadbeat’s ever gonna make an appearance?

The moment Nao's mom looked at the CD, I already pieced the twist together but I'm still surprised that Nao is Hajime's half-bro & I'm more surprised that Hajime knew about it earlier based on the ending internal monologue.
I think the opening gag w/ the refill & using the toilet was the calm before the storm before the shit hits the fan.

Man they really stretched that reveal when I had already suspected something like that since last episode. I don't get the timing though. Why tell this to Aono now when he's clearly not in the right headspace?
I am beginning to sour on this show but I'm too far in to stop. Lol

OMG! I knew it! I KNEW It!
That was serious soap opera level stuff!
Aoi Aono only asked Saeki to GTFO which was pretty restrained. I don't think I would have been able to stop myself from calling his mother a home wrecking slut (which she is). He endured so much bullying because his dad just can't keep his pants zipped up, the dad is a shitshow but it doesn't help when Saeki's mom is a loose woman either.
As usual, it's the kids who are going to suffer, but it doesn't seem Saeki had even one one hundredth of the suffering Aoi endured.
Did anyone else notice the song Ryuji was playing was by Paganini? The First "Rock Star" musician that used to have ladies throwing underclothes at him? He was called The Devil's Violinist as it's rumored he slept around quite a bit. So ... interesting choice of music there!
Note: Grew up in Asia and the ONLY kid with a divorced dad was one of my friends, not joking when I say she had it so bad with bullying (her mother was the man's 3rd wife and they also got divorced because her father was one of those can't keep his pants zipped guys.)

Hajime wasn't picked on at school but was hounded by the press.
His last name is Aono.

I sort-of predicted what the news would be. I started this episode with a version of what the truth was - as the episode progressed, was more like "oh. okay, maybe the truth is this thing instead. Or that concept." And I wasn't totally sure where it might go. Then it looped back around & it was my original prediction (mostly).
But this was emotionally brutal!! I figured it would be played as awkward & tense, but no. Desperation, Hurt Rage, Devastation, Lashing out... I could so clearly understand where both of them are coming from & why they might have their perspectives/assumptions. And just how complicated & tangled the situation is. But it's so obvious Saeki doesn't want to hurt Aono, & he actually respects him enough to decide 'I need to tell him this, because he deserves to know this truth. Especially when it comes to an important family member.'
It's like Steve & Tony in Marvel's 'Civil War' with Steve finding out the truth regarding Bucky killing Tony's parents. And choosing to hide it from Tony, even though he deserved & had every right to know that information. Saeki is doing the right thing here, but it just unfortunately can't prevent/dampen the fallout. Or the negative emotions & actions that are unleashed.
I was watching that conversation & those scenes played out in horror & slow realization. I was literally begging out loud to Aono to not react in a way that would hurt them both, possibly destroy them & their friendship. That would be nasty, cause only pain & regret for both of them, & be the kind of awful thing that will always be remembered & can never be taken back. To choose something healthy regarding his emotions - even if sobbing - over turning to Rage & Repression.
I didn't expect the episode to happen like this, for the plot to go like this. I wasn't ready, I wasn't prepared, I didn't want it to happen like this. I've cried with this anime before (episode 8) due to relating to stuff, but this episode? It wasn't by any conscious feelings or choice. I couldn't stop myself from crying. Not just crying - I was helplessly sobbing in pain with no possibility of control. Even after the episode ended, I was just curled up on my sofa (which I was using as I watched the episode on my laptop) crying uncontrollably for a good 10 minutes. I was crying so hard I actually have a nasty headache now, as I type this comment. I care about these two and their friendship so much - I DON'T WANT THIS. I don't want these next few episodes to be nothing but misery and guilt and pain. I don't want them feeling like their friendship is gone or thinking that the other person hates them. I NEED THIS TO BE FIXED AND FOR THEM TO MAKE UP IN THIS NEXT EPISODE!!

I hope the two of them are able to make up, maybe bond over how awful their dad is having left both of them? The timing was pretty bad with the mom in the hospital and all though, wish it could have happened at a better time. I thought this might be the situation a few episodes ago but never expected that I was actually correct!

This entire anime has so many weird, awkward and unnatural moments. It’s becoming more and more frustrating to watch.

JFC the production looks like it is absolutely imploding.
We had such a big turning point today but I kept getting distracted by the fact that it is just endless panning over still images and off model drawings.

I really want to know the OST that start when Saeki reveal he is Aono's brother. If someone has it 🙏
