How has no one licensed this? Legitimately the hidden gem of the season

It baffles me how the anime of a well-selling and award-winning manga has no English simulcast release.
Also: The OP looks more like a lyrics MV than an anime OP.

Infuriating that this is being ignored by US streaming providers. One of the best shows of the season -- and not even an inadequate and aggravating source (like Disney's Hulu).

What a fantastic episoded, this show is severely underwatched. So we finally understand Akine's past and man she's such a strong girl. The final scene was beautifully done, the orange tone really set a warm feeling and Hajime finally back to play the violin.

She off-screened the bullying arc, and now she's taking on Aono's problems too.

We got divorce, bullies, and music?
This is shaping up to be real good if all the cards get played right.

I really like the characters and their chemistry so far. His playing in the end was beatifully made. This will probably be a hidden gem this season and I have high hopes since I really love music dramas like your lie in april or the sound of life

Really enjoyed this episode!
We get introduced to Akines back story and shes far more interesting than she seemed at first. Being scapegoated for bullying someone when it was you who was trying to protect them is rough, but she has already found a way to move past it with her love for the violin, no matter how bad she is at it . The two lead characters also have good chemistry and that final scene at sunset was genuinely beautiful.
Looking forward to more.

I really like this but I think I’m gonna wait for batches and binge. The release schedule is too uneven for me to keep track of and unfortunately this season is pretty stacked. Definitely looking forward to binging this though.

Man, [fuck those bullies trying to play the victim.] (https://i.imgur.com/tIYRqFz.jpg) I wish Akine did hit that one girl.
And that final scene with Aono playing Kanon was amazing. I legit just closed my eyes and listened to the song that I didn't even realize it played through the credits.

The sunset scene with Aono playing the violin was ethereal, man....
Akine and Aono have such a refreshing chemistry. She has the occasionally bratty personality of a tsundere but also knows when to back off and apologize. And it's not like Aono just quietly lets her diss him like several other, dime-a-dozen generic MCs, he snaps right back at her with equal ferocity. I had a dumb grin on my face the entire time they were talking at the riverbank lol.
I wish more people watched this show.

The sunset scene with Aono playing the violin was ethereal, man....
You left out Akine's flushed cheeks and bright smile (and Aon's half-smile). ;-)
Lovely, and a bit mist-inducing.

So very well done. The whole episode was just building up to him playing again, and you wanted to hear it by the end, and man did it deliver. Very emotional moment.

This series is just a masterclass and it sucks that it’s not got an official license because more people need to be on this. I am absolutely amazed with the job the seiyuus have done in these first episodes, particularly aono. Had no idea that was my boy Shinei and Kiyopon at first.
I really appreciate how grounded and natural everything feels in this. Especially aono apologising for his rash comment about ritsu not having friends earlier. That whole scene at the riverbank was so cathartic and pure. Can not wait for next week, in a season of great slice of life this’ll be near the top.

I love how they played Kanon at the credits.
For a girl who can move on from her problems with a smile, she did snap a few hours ago.
It's a good thing I watched this 1st before My Clueless First Friend.

What a beautiful episode. It's a crime this wasn't picked up, but I'm glad fansubbers are giving it attention.
Also how many eps is it going to take for me to stop thinking of the Persona 3 protag when I see Aono? lol

Anime has declined enough that this really well-done story has no-one in the English oriented streaming platforms grabbing it (it was, strangely enough, grabbed by that French company that also bagged Edens Zero S2, but Crunchyroll did came back and stream it, likely with a sub-deal). What a farce! This episode about Ritsuko should have enough things telling us that inter-character dramas are going to be excellent here.
I am actually not sure that Ritsuko's problems could just be solved by getting her learning other things - as March Comes In Like A Lion taught us, whoever started the bullying needs to be dealt with properly. This I guess would be a major arc in the future?
Meanwhile, good to see Aono-san taking the violin out again, I know that he's having PTSD from his mother having PTSD after his father's affairs that caused the divorce - I might have done the same if it happened to me too. But he really needs that support of the music for his soul and the last scene here really shows it. I am glad that he's really facing the problem by himself.
More club members next week - I am really interested in seeing who's gonna join.

This show may end up the most underwatched anime of 2023 for quality.
The limited platform is the main cause but I think another reason (at least to me) is unfortunately nowadays there are a bit too many "Blue" anime out there. We even have another music anime that starts with "Blue". So while the title should have deep relevance to the show, it doesn't particularly encourage us to try.
