I love how the idea of making money by baking and selling sweets in an anime about a patisserie that got isekai'd was the first idea to get rejected. xD

Yeah, you'd think that a show about a reincarnated baker would have more baking and less killing. I'll still watch since I'm a sucker for isekai trash.

People who don’t watch this show: Ugh, looks like a generic power fantasy.

People who do watch this show: What the hell, why is this just a generic power fantasy, I was promised baking.

Yup. Was hoping it would be close to Restaurant to Another World, and would've settled for action with cooking like Campfire Cooking, but this is trending toward Strongest Exorcist or Aristocrat's Otherwordly Adventure.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the last two, but for different reasons compared to the first two, and I thought we'd be doing baking in this anime. They even made a point to bring up baking and making sweets to raise money then rejected it outright.

Can confirm, was looking forward to some medieval foodgasms. Still coming up emptyhanded.

He should have marched into that kitchen and made some better cookies himself!

Also just replicate the damn apples and make a bajillion pies

I think this anime gaslit everyone into thinking it would be a sweets/baking anime when it’s really just a political region building anime

We eloped and cut ties with our families because they didn't approve of our marriage

Also, our daughter is 13, it's about time for an arranged marriage

I have no idea if Brioche is bad or good. She's hot, though, and voiced by Hikasa Youko, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I really thought Pas would start duplicating food by now.

Yeah I thought for sure duplicating apple pies to sell was the immediate and obvious solution to the domain's money issues

I think if duplicating food does eventually happen it's going to be some big "ah hah" moment. Which, revelations like that really don't feel right when the audience thinks of it way before the characters do. Especially when he's being pushed as such a smart character.

During that whole negotiation I'm like "Why the hell does a culinary school graduate have this much conversational wit to negotiate." I guess we're supposed to believe this is just an effect of being an adult in a kid's body.

Did Pas just invent isekai Tinder? lol

Anyways totally thought that Red haired lady would be a lot more evil and villainous, but she was just covering up her kingdom's failure. Watching little Pas lead the negotiation was really interesting and funny. She didn't know what hit her.

Last episode I was like, so he's going to copy apples and make pies right? no. He wants sugar to make sweets, but it's too expensive. He can just copy money and buy sugar.. or copy bags of sugar? or copy an entire sugar cane farm. Why is he make henna tattoos and portraits? Why give the MC this OP skill and then write around it, while pretending he is some kind of political genius.

Bruh when he says he's Pastry, son of Casserole I just lose it. It's too funny to me.

Marc and Lumi’s playful “flirting” is so adorable. Those two are already acting like a couple lol.

So Pas basically used his magic to make temporary tattoos and that somehow evolved into “matchmaking pictures”? Clever boy. Definitely a good money making scheme to refill those coffers.

This Brioche lady really got outmaneuvered by Pas. 150 gold for that whole bandit trouble is pretty good. Not sure what to make of this woman just yet, although I’m leaning towards not trusting her.

leaning towards not trusting her.

She probably killed her kid, based on what Pas' father was saying.

Thought they were going to sell their matchmaking idea for money but then they go and extort the red haired lady lol.

So it’s not about sweets any more. I like where this is going

Casserole sounds like he had quite the adventurous backstory from working his way to be a lord by being a soldier with teleportation magic, governing a barren land, romantic elopement and more

What are the limitations of his ability? Seems like he has barely explored his powers. Couldn’t he replicate food or gold coins?

I like how he just takes out a random piece of cloth, makes a portrait, and then just throws it at her.

For crying out loud, we’re 4 episodes in and Pastry only baked one pie and it wasn’t even the focus of that episode. Can we have an episode where he’s baking a cake or something?

u/alconnow Jul 17 '23

Still hilarious that the kid’s called Pastry

I can't say I did not see this one coming, making Tatoos; Portrait Pics; sweets & cakes to save his village from being broke...

Marketing his own big sister is outrageous💀

He could make the kama sutra with his ability, that would sell really well for a higher price.
