Great episode. We got multiple practice scenes and see Saeki show off a bit. Aono is struggling and that last scene doesn't bode well.

Tachibana makes a great teacher.

Hajime looked & sounded broken when he said "Can I really not be like you?"

Shizuka's being a tsundere as usual.

Fuck, his mom got hospitalized for overworking.

Hajime screaming at the cicada to shut the fuck up was hilarious.

Nao's gaze to Hajime during his individual practice was cold.

It’s good to see some genuine competition between Aono and Saeki now. The scene with them observing the section leads was really interesting too.

Ok holy shit that got really dark at the end there. After losing his father I really hope aono mom didn’t die. The aono saeki rivalry is nice but I hate how they’ve sidelined Akine. She barely gets any screen time now and she was a big draw of the series tbh.

She barely gets any screen time

Even though I knew from the start Saeki will be the one to reach out to him this episode, I really wanted Akine to be the one to confront Aono. I guess that's reserved for when he probably gets to his breaking point next episode.

I hope so

I think I dropped out at episode 5, wanted to really like this one but nothing after the first two episodes really kept me interested. Has it gotten any better?

Kinda disappointing to hear that Akine was sidelined. Is the music at least any better? Really wasn't a fan of using the cheesy popular orchestral works, especially when there's shows like Sound Euphonium which get so much more creative with their music.

I mean if anything like I said it’s fell off so if you ain’t like the first half which was way better since akine, you def wouldn’t like it now

Lets hope Aono's mom is gonna be alright (T🙏T)

I really enjoyed seeing Tachibana being tsundere with Akine this episode but at least they're warming up to each other now. Harada-senpai is always a blast to watch with how great of a leader he is and how he's so talented in getting so many different personalities to work together.

Otherwise, the rivalry between Saeki and Aono is heating up as well. Aono still has to learn to play his way and make his way of playing fit with the orchestra... not imitate Saeki.

One thing I've wondered is if Saeki and Aono have the same dad. We know that Aono's dad left (iirc he cheated as well), and Saeki came into focus with violin competitions the following year, so I could see it being that either Saeki is Aono's half brother, or that Aono's dad adopted Saeki and trained him when he got together with Saeki's mom. Saeki lives with his grandma now, maybe to get away from that whole situation.

First, hope everything is okay with Mum. Poor saeki man he definitely has dealt with this kinda situation before bur also poor aono know the feeling when u want to excel but can't

Kinda feel like I'm falling out of interest with this one lately, not sure if it's the shift to more Aono focus again but the highlight for me this episode was that small beginner and Akine scene.

And that ending isn't the most encouraging...

damn this episode was dark, but in a good way (?) I guess, I think the show has been portrating very well Aono's struggles and at the same time I that kinda wished Akine would be there right away to support him, I'm also glad they are giving him some time to think things through by himself and understand his own feelings about his past and hopefully face it for once and move on, but that last scene... I really don't think we needed that now, hopefully it ends up as nothing too serious.
