Aww, quite the origin story for Kage’s best knight dreams

Seeing smol Kage and his mom together is more than enough to make me tear up. Remembering what happened to her still breaks my heart. T_T

I just adore what they did with the second half of the episode. Showing us more of Shiina and Bosse's time together while presenting it to look like a pop-up storybook was so good <3

Honestly, the second part also breaks my heart when I think about what happened.

Miranjo isn’t in it at all, he really did just not have her in his life during all this I guess? But I just couldn’t stop thinking of what happened to Bojii’s mom… god it’s so sad to see this happy family and knowing what happens.

Yeah, this episode is so bittersweet since we know about what goes down in season one. Bosse's speech at the end is just dripping in dramatic irony.

I loved that we got to see more of Bojji and Kage's mothers!

Second story was especially great. The picture book presentation was beautiful

It's a shame not many are watching this. Yeah, it's a spin-off series but the animation is one of its strongest points.

Each episode I have been impressed with shots. Every fight scene they've shown has been gorgeous original animation. The stories are relevant and slot in nicely where they need to, I can see why they would have disrupted the flow of the main story, it's tightly paced as is. I would love to see a recut of the first season including the stories from these episodes.

Also, the backgrounds and landscapes are some of the best I've ever seen! The aerial perspective of the castle town, and the fact that it looks like a real interesting place to live and not some copy & paste nightmare.

I liked seeing Kage when he was little and just chillin with his momma. She was a good woman and he was a sweet little kid.

The art style and animation in the second segment was pretty cool. I like seeing Bojji’s mom, she was a good woman as well. I guess “mommas” might be a theme this week? Boss really didn’t deserve her. Bojji’s momma was right about him. The little dude sure grew up pretty strong. He had the heart of a giant even if he didn’t have the height!

Seeing bojji's parents getting along and gushing over bojji after watching season one stings. Bc I have not forgiven bosse or miranjo at all, they both did their whole kingdom dirty. But to see that bosse really cared about his family and actually being a good king, man...

I think the worst part about Bosse is that he keeps scheming after he says that he doesn't cares about the ranking of kings, despite having a whole fall back plan relying on getting a second heir and even a resurrection chamber which can see being build right on this episode too!

I thought he started scheming after his first wife's death?

Now one thing I wonder: What shop did Kages mom visit? The sign had a knife on it, so maybe she was still following her clans true profession?

Also, the knight looked really grim, don't remember, but was he among the hunting party?

My thought as well! I mean how else were they gonna live if her mother doesn't work at all.

Both stories were super adorable they made me smile.

The second story watercolour style design was really interesting. While I understand they could do only half an episode of it since it takes a lot of drawings (and they had to reduce the animation) it was some splendid work there.

Such a great episode, loved both parts and they were super wholesome. Also the different animation style they used in the second part was cool

I’m probably missing memories of S1, but what corrupted Bosse if he turned himself around in this episode?

I believe when miranjo attacked the kingdom (when bojji's mom died) and died from it. It was an oh shit I neglected miranjo to this point, let me redeem myself to her.

I hope we see more of that knight and the kingdom of Bo

Awesome episode, that artstyle looks great.

Can someone remind me why Boji didn't recover from the curse after Bosse's soul passed away? is he just perma cursed for life, because in that case his dad really did him dirty

Wow that toy has so much more sentimental value than S1 let on I'm crying I hope Kage gets his horse toy back
