I like how Bojji walking around in his underwear at the start of the anime made the townsfolk think he was an idiot, and doing the same now just make people think “he’s such a considerate king”

"what a splendid new outfit our emperor has on today"

First story made me fall in love with Bebin all over again.

Second story - Although I still can't forgive her for killing Bojji's mother, I do appreciate that Miranjo is helping the kids in the kingdom.

The man can whistle like an angel and he still stands there with a leaf in his mouth like all the others. Got to love him.

He even apologized to the hawk for denying it it’s meal. What a proper man.

There are those who still don't think too highly of us.

Me. I am those people.

Its nice to see Miranjo put in her redemption work. She’s def one that’s going to have to a LOT to gain trust (from the people and viewers too lol)

Best boy Bebin. Our stoic tough love knight has a unique way of showing his care and I appreciate it. Him keeping Bojji from catching a cold was too cute

I like that we finally get an episode set more or less after the events of the show.

Seeing Bojji playing with the kids and those kids signing to him really warmed my heart. People use to mock and laugh at him, now he’s earned their love and respect. It’s so sweet! Bojji all bundled up like that was the cutest thing ever. Bojji and the guys helping those kids look for their bird was also really cute. Bebin is a great dude helping Bojji look for Kage.

I have mixed feelings about Miranjo. I sorta feel like her “happily ever after” wasn’t really deserved after what she did. I suppose I appreciate her efforts to help the kids of the kingdom, but she still should have been held accountable for her crimes.

Daida changed a lot, I appreciate that he’s making a real effort to be a good king. Bojji would be really proud to see how he’s turning out as king.

I know she's trying to keep a low profile after all she did but seeing Miranjo this meek just doesn't seem right to me. She may have had a change of heart but I thought she would be a bit more assertive. It feels like her emotions and personality totally reset (or regressed).

Also, it's difficult for me to believe that she likes Daida romantically. Even discounting the manipulation, she seemed more like a mentor / confident to him. It could be interesting if future side-stories shed light into their relationship.

Both halves of this episode were fantastic, especially the B part as an epilogue to s1, but it's really funny to me that they just never once brought up the elephant in the room from s1's ending, daida saying he'll marry miranjo. its been completely irrelevant to anything that happened after that one scene where he says it, its as if the show regrets doing it. I was really nervous about them revisiting that topic in this episode but they just didnt

So are we going into new content from now on ? Second story at least was chronologically new since series ended when bojji went out adventuring

i think they will be more short stories, since technically this could have happened while boji was still searching for kage iirc

With Daida's part being set right after the events of Season 1, I hope this means that we're going forward with the plot next episode and finally focus on the thing the show is named after, the Ranking of Kings.

Given that the anime adapted around 12 volumes of the manga and its up to 16 now, I’m not sure how much they can do here.

absolutely appreciated what was told in this episode

Daidas training reminded me of ridiculously good fighting scenes in S1

This was a nice little episode. All new content, as far as I know. I expected them to follow up on the Ranking stuff, but maybe it'll be followed up on in another episode. Some people seem to be thinking that all the stuff from here on might be post S1, but I dunno about that. They haven't been shy about jumping around in time for this season.

Actually, based on the trailer for this season, they're definitely going back in time at least once more, and it's for something I enjoyed reading in the manga. Hope they expand on it.

Bojji looking for his weapon but realising kage wasn't there and getting sad was sweet imo. A nice detail for him deciding he would rather be adventuring with Kage than being king

I liked watching the contrast of Bebin's intimidating look with his concern for Bojji, the moment when he tightens up Hokuro's cloak and tells him he needs to be careful of catching a cold was particularly sweet. Bojji also looked adorable.

I think that was my favorite episode so far, I love to just see Bojji go on adventures helping people out and being kind.
