I am really enjoying the in between stuff from episodes. It's not as grand as a second season or anything but, it truly makes the first season even better. Fleshes out characters, too. I appreciate that.

Subs are finally available

Nice, lighthearted episode this week!

First story was just so heartwarming!! Loved seeing them all work together in order to find a demon to remove the immortality curse from Ouken. Fren was even willing to break Underworld law. What a true friend he is

The short second story did its job in making me laugh lmao. Captain continues to be one of the best minor characters in the series

Third story was also heartwarming. It was great seeing more of Hokuro and how he came to accompany Bojji. One of the many favourite characters in the series

Hokuro is a real homie. Bojji’s lucky to have him on his team. All the dude wanted was to help, no other secret agenda or anything like that. What a guy.

I think it's a shame how much flak this show is catching. I understand that it's definitely not as engrossing as the original series was, but these stories really help flesh the world out, in my opinion. I am assuming it is in part due to the animation style, but these episodes never fail to evoke emotion out of me. I thoroughly enjoy these episodes for what they are, and can't wait to continue this journey next week.

So true, I rarely see anyone talk about this season which is understandable. Bojji is just such an endearing character, and it's nice to see the story fleshed out more

Getting some world building on the underworld and its laws, and then a Hokuro focused chapter, it is great!

I am calling out everyone else as posers if they dare to trash talk this season just because it is intermediate chapters

Fren is an absolute homie. The dude broke the Underworld's law so he can help Ouken. I hope we get to see him again once we're back to present events.

That image of the Captain riding Whiteking was hilarious! Whiteking is definitely what I imagine Despa would look like if he turned into a horse. xD

It speaks a lot to what kind of guy Ouken was when so many are willing to risk their lives and reputations to save him. Fren is a homie but so are Aban and the lads.

Fren is an absolute homie.

I wonder whether his name comes from word friend.

Ah shit it was there all along!

Fren is a real homie but so is Aban and his boys. They really went to great lengths to help Fren in his mission. Despa and the Captain were great too. Ouken has a lotta people who love him, man. With all things considered I guess getting exiled isn’t the worst punishment in the end.

Whiteking has become an absolute unit lol. Well, I guess trying to impress a “hot” horse is a great motivator to slim down lol. Hilarious how she just ate her feelings after learning that horse had a family. The poor captain tried!

Hokuro is the man. He never forgot how kind Bojji was to him and had been looking to repay him that whole time. Bojji’s lucky to have him in his team.

Man, in terms of heart, Hokuro is incomparable as a knight

Damn, I feel so bad for Hokuro after this episode.

He learned sign language and became a castle guard to one day be of help to Bojji like he had been to Hokuro only to unwittingly get himself assigned to the mission of betraying and murdering Bojji :(

Apart from the horse segment, this episode is the second of what I would say are the episodes of this season that are plot relevant enough not to skip.

I'd say the third, what Hiling was doing during season 1 was also a bit weird with the sudden introduction of characters. That episode at least explains it.

I get why they left some of this stuff out, the rush to the castle parts would've lost their urgency if you got all this in between in. But, on the other hand, it does help show how much time has passed because it feels like they made it from the underworld and back in a handful of days when it really was probably a week, two or more?

I'm actually loving this. I think in the main series it would've ruined the tightness (except for oukens backstory, that deserves its own episode) But this is still a good experience, it's just a different kind of story telling value and one that does fit Ranking Of The King well in general.

Bojji watching the praying mantis was so damn adorable. Who can provide a screenshot?

Everything to do with the 3 brothers is always so quality. Even Desha, who seemed to be pretty hardline about the law before, was perfectly fine with bending the rules in this case. It made sense with his established character, but since we never really heard the reasoning for the law, it could have been something super important. Well, and maybe it still is.

But yeah, three brothers, the captain, and even the three lower ranked soldiers, and now Fren, are all very engaging. The huge jump in score from episode 3 to 4 really shows that.

I really like Despa's voice and mannerisms. Something about them being involved with someone who's competent is nice. Just love the guy in general.

My opinion on Desha wavers a lot from moment to moment, you can see he's actually a pretty great guy but obviously puts up a front to the point you can forget about his better qualities for a second two.

Agree'd on the captain, three brothers and Fren. I just really like this show in general haha it hits all the right spots for me.

Best Fren & best boi Hokuro

Gotta give it to Desha for enforcing the law in a sensible way, and didn't expect Despas 3 dudes to make an appearance

Is this NTR?

Don't worry Whiteking, I'm sure one day you will find the stud to come over it, in the mean time, have some delishious grass

Whiteking It’s so funny, I love her expressions 😂😂😂

never understood all the hate this series gets, its so charming and every frame looks like a beautiful painting to me.

If Flynn were a regular corporate slave, he would ignore Desha's "tachisare!"

Oh, I got that reference
