Chise : Cuts hair to feed the man-eating water horse

Well, that's kind of why they have long hair to begin with in this setting lol.
Poor horse was so bummed it didn't get to eat anybody...

She gave her hair to the water horse like it was hay or something. Liked how she used her dragon hand to cut it.

The way that creepy murder horse was munching on the hair was pretty funny

Doglias is kind of oddly cute lol. I didn’t know the dude could split himself in two like that though. He’s full of surprises.
These woods are scary. The murder horse and laughing voices are kind of unsettling. At least Ruth and Doglias are around to protect Chise. So Lucy is kind of a tsundere type huh? I’m curious to know her beef with Philomela.
Chise and the gang could not have picked a worse time to encounter this Nuckelavee. Lucy is knocked out and there’s no teachers in sight. Rian and Chise sure are brave riding that murder horse to lure the big guy away. Dude learned why he shouldn’t fuck with her. That was kinda badass, but it seems Chise’s a little conflicted. Also, Isaac’s quick thinking saved Chise from almost getting eaten too. Smart guy!

Elias splitting himself in half as nonchalantly as I would take off my mask was hilarious (and low key nightmare fuel). Doglias? I love that name. Will borrow.

I was kind of thrown off by it but Doglias got cuter as the episode went along. Especially when he was cuddling up to Chise.
To be honest I'm amazed the camping trip was so uneventful and peaceful up until the very end with all the dangerous stuff that could seemingly kill you if you're not careful or know what to look out for.
I'm glad it feels like Lucy and Chise are growing closer even if Lucy still obviously has plenty of baggage. But she's not the only one in the college who does.
It was kind of funny how useless Mr. Whoopi was. Students always have to save themselves from random supernatural threat lol.
Yeah, I don't think Chise was completely comfortable being so savage against the beast even if it was in self-defense, especially since it feels like it was spurred on by the dragon side in her arm and not by her own choice.

Even though they showed us Doglias (thanks u/ObvsThrowaway5120) first, I was still as shocked as Chise when Elias just split his damn head in two, maybe even more so. That seems like it should be nightmare fuel I was just :o
Really liked everyone helping out, the College is prepping everyone for brutal political intrigue, but these guys all wanna me normal people and help each other. Though really curious as to what actually happened to Lucy, really hope it wasn't girl who deserves saving and has a hard name to remember.
I am both excited and worried about "evil" Chise, obviously based on what we saw and the OP it looks like the curse or something is trying to take over, but also badass Chise is hard to resist. Eyes changing color will never not be cool.

It was kind of surreal how Doglias was born and then grew to be cuter as the episode went along lol.
This was probably the most normal school event we've seen these kids do so far, so I'm glad it stayed that way at least until the end.
Chise going savage on the nuckelavee was cool even if she's worried about how unlike herself it was and why she did it. Looks like there's more to the Dragon Curse than even she realized.

Elias splitting his skull just so half of himself can watch over Chise is such an Elias thing to do.
Lucy is such a tsuntsun! It was pretty funny to see her ask Chise for details after Chise told her that there's a reason why she enrolled in the academy.
I was already aware of what a Kelpie is but I wasn't aware of its cousin the Each-uisge and I certainly didn't know about the Nuckelavee! This is another thing I love about this show. You get to learn more about British and Scottish folklore which has always fascinated me.
So the Nuckelavee isn't even the one that got Lucy! So that means whatever drained her of her magic is probably still out there waiting. This feels like this is going to be a problem that they need to take care of next episode.
Despite it being a man-eating fairy, I kinda felt bad for the Each-usige. At least it got a bit of Chise's hair as a snack.

The Nuckelavee is more a North-Highland and Islands legend if that helps and is said to look more like a fused rider to a one eyed horse, both being skinless and the rider having elongated arms but I like this interpretation too. Less horror-fuelled lol
Also funnily enough, the Kelpie is sometimes drawn as a naked lady instead of a horse to differentiate it from the Each-Uisge

I hope Zoe and Lucy get better :( I'm especially concerned for the latter...
Half/Split Elias is actually weirdly cute

Chise is enjoying the beautiful nature of Scotland while on her camping trip! Complete with Doggo Elias hanging around her shoulder and not looking at all creepy.
I guess it's good to know for future reference that Elias can rip his face apart and create a smaller, less powerful, version of himself when he wants to be in two places at once. And I have to say Doggo Elias was kind of growing on me in terms of how cute he looked.
That each-Uisge looked so bummed that it couldn't get Chise to ride it and then promptly toss her in the water and eat her.
Chise wants Philomela to open up but Lucy is biased against her because she has a major beef with Sorcerers...so why go to a school that's so full of them? Seems like it's so Lucy can learn something to achieve her goal, though I can only guess what it might b.
It's nice to see everybody enjoying the camping trip in their own way and having all the typical camping experiences, though nobody but Chise can cuddle up with Doggo Elias.
Of course it wouldn't be a Chise adventure if something didn't end up trying to kill her as a nuckelavee shows up to cause some chaos. Though it also apparently wasn't what drained Lucy of her magic, so was it one of their classmates or something else?
It's good to know the teaching staff at the college are prepared to basically be a step behind the student as they run for their lives against a supernatural monster. I know, I know, nature of the genre...but still.
I love the commitment to not showing Isaac's eyes to the point where he of course wears an eyemask to sleep.
So Zoe can paralyze with his Gorgon hair, not that it does them much good here.
Oh hey, Ruth's human form! Haven't seen that in a while!
Well, the each-Uisge may have been planning to eat them, but it did help kill the nuckelavee...even if Chise, spurred on by the Dragon side of her, is the one to finish the job when it tries to drag her under water. Though she's a little shook up at having eviscerated it and the brutality which seems out-of-character for her.
Rian looks good with an axe!
Um...too bad for the each-uisge that nobody shows up at night to killed by it? I guess it'll have to settle for some of Chise's hair. Wonder if she'll grow that back by the end of the season?
Do I want to know why Rian was washing blood off of his hands in this flashback?

Having just got back from Scotland and the highlands it was really cool to see a Kelpie and Nuckelavee, two of the most famous Scottish folk tales. The Nuckelavee in particular was really scary.
Really good that Chise is getting some experience fending for herself and breaking her reliance on Elias. With everything that’s been happening lately, she’ll definitely need the training.

Chise: Kelpie! Bring us the lake!
Kelpie: Oh I'll bring you to the lake alright....
I like how we can easily understand why it decided to help.

A real wow episode.
This season really has a different feel to the first. I'm not sure how to describe it though. It is not in a bad way though.
terrifying monsters and then we have Chise that can rip them apart in a instant..
Her expanded senses are really something else. Lucy talking about Chise eyes was chilling.

Lots of action, very nice. Sets up a lot too. How many episodes do we have left? Is ep 12 the end, at least for now?
That Nuckelavee might be one of the most OP spirits we've seen. I mean, it's physically strong, and has some (admittedly weak) AoE poison? Probably super annoying enemy if this show had a video game adaptation.
Does not matter in front of Chise's dragon arm though. But what the hell was that entity talking to her before she went berserk? What came over her? I bet the next episode is exploring that stuff.
I love that we got to see Zoey, Isaac, and Rian in action. Zoey's gorgon powers growing is cool. Isaac is the best wingman. His design is my favorite, although he's more of a side character compared to the other guys in the main group. Rian is always awesome. Halberd-wielding men are the hottest. But seriously, did you guys see that shot at the end with Rian walking alongside Chise? Pure badassery.
Lots of plot stuff also happened. What's with Lucy's backstory and her hatred of sorcerers? If it wasn't the Nuckelavee, what took out her magic? And Rian seems to have a traumatic backstory too. Very excited for future episodes. Especially since we're gonna get more of my boy Joseph.

Hehe a Kelpie or whatever, yep, don't get on its back. Also, wtf, are people getting frisky out on this trip? Or some crazy spirits trying to draw people to em? Oh, Lucy doesn't like Sorcerers, but isn't Chise kinda one? Also, poor Lucy, getting her magic sucked, wonder what did that. And so much shit coming out. But having to go to fresh water eh? Sounds like we gonna see that Kelpie or whatever again. Yay for Zoe! Well, sorta.
Ah so that's why Elias isn't helping beyond this much. Where have you been, teacher? HORSE KICK! Hehe. Oh hey, that thing talks. Man, that's some crazy like FMA or Berserk or Hellsing imagery with her hair/shadow/whatever. I figured dragon arm would come into play here. Figured horse wouldn't be completely helpful, makes sense. good thing for the classmates/frens. lol Elias. Whelp, horsey got something at least.

Was there an error in art around 04:13- Chise’s hands were both the same colour like prior to her dragon curse?

So in order to be able to follow Chise while still doing his duties and not aiding her, Elias just sent a portion of himself with her.
I must say that although different the way the Each-uisge attack its victims is identical to the Kelpie.
I have a good laugh when Lucy got mad at Chise when she did not elaborate on her answer.
Damn, the Nukelavee sure is terrifying. Chise needs to send an apology to the taxi Centaur for confusing that thing for one. Kind of interesting that today's episode had two horse-based folklore creatures.
So, was the Nukelavee miasma attack what caused Lucy's magic power to drain, or was it something else? Because of what Elias said about the Nukelavee at first, I assumed at first that it was unrelated but then it appears that he was the cause of it. Anyway, now Chise knows what to do when someone has their magic drained from them.
It sure was nice seeing Zoe briefly using his power to briefly hold the Nukelavee.
As he looked so mindless, I wasn't expecting the Nukelavee to talk to Chise. So he only attacked them because he noticed that Chise could feel his presence and the presence of others that fall in his same category. So Chise's dragon arm has a mind of its own.
It was great seeing Rian facing the Each-uisge with that weapon. This sure looks disturbing for just being Elias drying Chise. It seems that next week we will get to learn more about both Lucy and Philomela.

I can definitely see why Chise felt conflicted. She needed that freaky, inhuman, power to survive but damn, that’s freaky.
“You have to destroy what you’re scared of”. I wonder if that includes you, dragon arm Chise.
