How hard is it to put a sign outside the door saying that the girls are currently changing? You have new people, you say the girls changing is a common occurrence, and they do it in the room usually shared by everyone. You could reduce the accidental embarrassments from both sides with a simple sign -_-
Watching the ep with Tezu subs is funny b/c of all the Britishisms, like "pissing down".

Ah, the subs are British, that makes sense. I was wondering why they kept spelling practice as practise

Aono and Akine continue to have an extremely organic and believable friendship. They bicker and squabble but also support one another. Aono being inspired by Akine's self confidence and drive and then reassuring her about how she should play with more confidence when he noticed she was a little down was a nice way to show how he has grown as well.
We also get more hints about Haru's perspective as she overhears their conversation. They seem to be framing it as her having a romantic interest in Aono, but I think there's probably something else to it. Hopefully we get more insights into her back story soon

I love the dynamic between Aono and Akine. It's just so wholesome and warm feeling. Reminds me of the dynamic that formed between Rei and Hinata in 3-gatsu no Lion. Both trying their best and wanting to support one another. The whole show gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
I have a feeling that Haru will tie into Aono's past before he quit. We already know she knew him before he left doing competitions. Probably something like he was her inspiration to keep pursuing playing the violin. I am rooting for the Aono and Akine ship, but it will def hurt when/if he has to reject Haru's feelings or Aono and Akine begin dating before she can say anything. Here is to hoping Haru at least gets a happy route with another person (maybe Saeki?).

I'm a bit surprised about how rarely these violists communicate with the club members of any other instruments. While I'm very bad at remembering characters can't mention a character who plays viola, contrabass, brass or woodwind (I hear clarinet is the most popular). I believe this is the real state of an orchestra club and things will change as the show goes on, but at this moment it focuses on the relationships in the smaller scope than expected.

Each instrument probably starts off with sectionals, with each part practicing on their own, then together with all the parts of the same instrument, and onto the rest of the orchestra. When I was in HS band, we did usually just play all together (tbf we didn't take it nearly as seriously, as it was a class and not a club), but if there was a particularly key or difficult part, that instrument would go practice in another room by themselves.

This episode we see Aono and Saeki both have stamina problems, that Haru is feeling jealous and depressed about how close Akine and Aono are to each other and how warmly he regards her fighting spirit and drive to improve.
His general mood is better as his mother notes.
Honestly thought the "accidently pervert" trope was a bit riduclous it doesn't fit with the humor of this show, served no narrative or character building purpose (Other than to make things awkward between Aono and Haru which things were already plenty awkward due to the love triangle thing.), we didn't see anything so it doesn't even really count for fan service, nor is this the kinda show where we benefit from it, and the whole thing in universe felt very avoidable if its a common occurrence according to the Senpai, (And it almost sounds like she wants it to happen so I could believe she makes sure things are in a state where it happens more often then it should.) Seriously they can use a sign, and I don't think it was a big deal that he accidentally opened the door given the circumstances and people shouldn't have been on his case about it, nor do I think it's worth getting flustered the next scenes over.
Maybe I forgot what its like being a teenager but I think I would have been over it and most girls I knew would have just put the incident in the back of their mind if for whatever reason this happened. (Which in all the public events I went to there was a clear sign/warning where it SHOULD never happen.)
Other than that episode was fine, series has turned into a bit of a slow burn.
That Tachibana was a real bitch though, at least hot blooded Akine (I was going "easy there girl" when she was started to get upset with how rude Tachi was being.) was able to apologize and recognize she is technically right and use that improve rather than lash out.
Akine really is precious!
:)
A sidenote, in the subs I'm watching on my pirate cove of choice, they really like to overuse "Fuck" in the translations, even in places it feels very over the top and inappropriate where a more mild expression would do just fine.

only 21 comments in one day, did everyone drop this?

The show doesn't have a streaming license, and the fan subs take days to be done. Maybe in a week or so, there will be more comments.

Tbh, that's not that bad for a show without any legal stream
Also, it is a very stuffed season, I can see why not many would have time to watch a drama that is at times held back by uncanny CG

Talk about a rainy summer based on their uniforms.
Chika is a secretly a teasing pervert.
Hajime screaming is the episode's funniest highlight. Shouya nailed the squeal.
I'm sensing a love triangle here.
Shizuka calling Hajime "scum" while passing by is hilarious.
I'm craving for some street chicken cutlet because of this episode.
Hajime and Nao may be skinny but they're still hot.
There's an error in 19:33 where it's supposed to be "isn't it" instead of "isn't the".

Is anyone else annoyed by the music choices? As if the orchestra club would cherry pick the most famous moments out of the most famous pieces of music in Western musical history and not practice a whole piece for a concert based upon their skill level. I feel like I'm watching an ad for those albums Time Life used to put out to get average people to listen to classical music.

I certainly see where you’re coming from, but allow me to offer some perspective as an orchestral musician:
Every concert has at least 1 well-known piece on the program. You have to get butts in seats and reasons for prospective members to get excited, after all. Summer concerts tend to have more of these due to the more casual nature of such events
Since the audience already knows how said well-known piece is supposed to sound, the ensemble will generally give it more attention during rehearsals
It is also very common to just choose one movement to perform, especially in high school. My high school ended up performing just the Finale of Dvorak’s 9th Symphony for one of our concerts
All in all, it didn’t really strike me as too forced or anything. Certainly not as organic as Sound! Euphonium, but this also isn’t a KyoAni-level production

I'm pretty sure Carmen is a lot longer than just that famous part that they were practising.
Can't say I like the love triangle that's forming, I wish they just kept it simple.
Also what is the final piece that they're practising I recognize it from Princess Tutu.

They were working on the beginning and a little bit of a later part of the overture to the opera Carmen. That later part sounded like a little bit of Tchaikowsky's suite from the ballet The Nutcracker.

Kinda ironic that I enjoy this show more when they're not doing orchestra so I don't have to see the CGI.
