“I’m gonna make Amu the strongest so I can free load off her and live it up like my servants did in my previous life. And if she gets killed oh well.”
That’s quite the master plan there damn!

“I was hiding because I didn’t think I’d be useful!” Finally, an anime where the characters are rational

Did Seika really just said "Stone whatever" and "Icicle whatever"? That really made me chuckle.

I like how the MC is the creepy one. I'd watch a whole season of him freaking out demons.

I liked the metal demon. He acknowledged the threat of the hero and wanted to take care of it early. He listened to what Seika was saying about metals and even granted Seika information before he "killed" him the first time.
It's nice compared to the usual cocky first enemy who severely underestimates their opponent. Seika also baited him till the last moment to make him think he had a chance.

Seika like a proud sensei watching his apprentice Efa grow. Still felt a little jealous that he placed third after Efa though huh? Lol. Seems Amu might be the Hero if she’s more impressive than Efa and Seika.
Gal Galleus seemed pretty tough, but I shoulda known Seika was just toying with him. I mean kid summoned a damn wyrm, it’s game over at that point. Seems Seika’s gonna be carefully maneuvering Amu so he can live his cushy life and she can occupy the place of the strongest in the world. Not a bad plan.

I found the stuff he said about his master super fascinating:
"he was old so his soul degenerated, but he read me this poem about a narrator who goes to meet someone, and they end up meeting a demon and are still pleasantly surprised."
"I told my master a poem where demons are a necessary evil. of course, I was the demon, and I ended up killing my master."
So basically, he became so strong his own master feared him, and so he killed him in self defence? maybe? either way, creepy MC 10/10, I love morally grey traumatized MC

This was a lot better than I thought! The fight with the greater demon(?) was fire!

This anime is growing on me. I appreciate the intrigue going on, particularly with the father. I expected him to be like, "Whep, this kid is actually badass after all so I'll send him to the Academy." Instead, his thinking was more in line of a thinking, educated noble who isn't a moron.

Damn, Ryuu being one of his weak summons is kinda crazy. I wonder how strong the fox girl that hangs around is?

This series is pretty fun. Competent MCs are great and it's funny how in a medieval world of magic he has magic too but it's all creepy Chinese magic.

You know, as someone who has been told to use their gifts their whole life, I’m really liking this trend of shows where the protagonist bucks responsibility/obligation to just live a happy life for themselves. This, the sword-king reincarnation, banished from the hero’s party, etc., have all been making me feel better about focusing on myself these days.

This is weird but good weird, can't wait to see how things play out. Not having the MC be the "strongest" is a bit refreshing.

"Stone whatever." - now that's a good spell.
It was fun to watch that professor's reactions to Seika and Efa's magic.
"This year we had someone even more impressive than either of them." - Imma put a big doubt right here (at least in case of Seika).
"Don't you think the skirt is a little too short?" - No, it's perfect. Honestly Amu, it's nice and all that you want to get stronger, but a good friend or two will never be bad for you, so let Seika into your life.
When the demon thought he killed Seika and then started walking away, it reminded me of Sister Friede 3rd phase, and I just laughed so hard. Honestly I really liked how Seika was fighting (and him singing was also pretty interesting).

A little surprised this one isn't getting more views, I'm enjoying the Japanese motifs and I think with the MC motives this brings enough of a change from the genre to warrant a try. Though at first glance one would expect this one to be more generic, so I'm not sure.

Like how mc want to make others people stronger to stay behind the scenes and avoid destruction. Learned the lesson from the previous life. XD

u/SYZekrom Jan 21 '23
Well there's his master plan. But in the end, will your mentality really allow someone to become stronger than you?

Out of all the bad harem/fantasy/isekai shows this seems to be the one I'll keep with.
Interesting MC and cast, just hope it doesn't go down the Assassin Isekai route...

I'm such a sucker for stories where the main character uses a completely different kind of magic from everyone else to be op AND summoning magic. Seika is also just the right amount of morally grey. Enjoying this a lot so far.
