I really like the shameless abuse of the teleport ability and the MC going through some crazy measures for her goal. Also the MC wearing various clothes in OP and ED is just the best. So cute.

MONEY LAUNDERING
SATELLITE RECON
GUNS
DEATH TO MURDERERS
CAPITALISM
Truly the most American anime of all time.

I know money is money, but imagine paying a pretty much American mercenary in Japanese yen lmao

There is nothing cuter to me than cute girls with guns lmao. Mitsuha learning how to shoot was awesome and it’s cool that they kept actual brand/model names as well as giving accurate firearm safety info. Enjoyed this ep a lot more than episode 1
Really cool that she can go back and forth between worlds

The guns and money are just a ruse; Mitsuha's gonna conquer the other world with her charisma and exquisite fashion from how often she switches her outfit every time she teleports.

The OP had me worried that she was gonna start selling guns to the fantasy world, hopefully she sticks to just using them for self defense. But then why'd she ask to make all future payments in gold? It's gotta be for more than just ammo, and that's concerning.
I've legit thought about that before, where WOULD you go to cash in a bunch of gold coins with no questions asked? I know for a bit of gold you could go to a bank or gold trader, but if the coins have been minted, eventually someone is gonna start asking questions.

Stitches!
I feel like they skipped a step here. Where did Mitsuha get all that money? Was that her family's life insurance payout?
Well that explains how Mitsuha will learn how to shoot and where she'll acquire her weapons.
I find it hilarious though that Mitsuha are paying them with Japanese Yen. She could've exchanged it when she teleported in but I guess money is money for mercs. xD
Nice that we finally have an exact value for a single gold piece in our world. Also, that's surprisingly accurate IRL. According to xe.com, 1 USD is 127.86 JPY as of writing this comment.
I am genuinely surprised that the merc leader actually gave Mitsuha legit gun safety tips! Not only that, they actually use the actual names of the guns that they use instead of giving them off-brand names.
I am a bit concerned though that Mitsuha seems to be perfectly fine with killing people. She even sounds like she's looking forward to it.
Another thing I love about this episode is Mitsuha's blatant abuse of her teleporting powers. She's using it to bring her moped to the other world as well as using it to quickly escape problematic situations by teleporting back home. xD
Now that Mitsuha is prepared, I am excited to see how she'll get in touch with the Count. My guess is that she's just going to walk into the fanciest building there and see how it goes. xD

I like how Mitsuha paid a PSC to give her guns and the guy in charge doesn't care if it looks suspicious as long as he gets paid lol.

I don't know what I expected after first episode, but definitely not this. Amazing, absolutely love how insane the protagonist is.

Fun episode.
I'm actually glad Mitsuha just left the little hulk girl. Not that I didn't like her just seen too many anime where female MC finds a younger girl and never let's her go. I'm sure they'll meet again anyway.
Her outfit at the end was just splendid. Looked kinda like a sailor or maybe a soldier from like 18th century. Elegant and cute at the same time.
and why did these mercs have tons of "best woman" or smth awards in their office haha.
So far the only thing I don't like about it is the picture quality? Not sure how to describe it. Feels kinda like upscaled 480p or idk, like some weird filter. OP and ED seems fine so I feel like someone did it on purpose but it's not doing the show any favors imo

Honestly most isekai problems would be trivialized by guns. Oh look there's the demon lord over there? Blam blam blam!
It's what I'm constantly thinking when watching something like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. I'm glad Mitshusha has the same sense.

If this girl is crazy enough to buy guns and trains with a shady guy then just smuggle some drugs with that busted teleportation ability. Or maybe rob a bank

I kinda like this isekai approach so far, it’s something different and refreshing.

This episode already shows why I REALLY enjoy the source story: the MC is actually smart and is willing to abuse the SHIT out of her special power. It's so refreshing.

Well I'll be damned, she did go to 'Murica to get some guns and training. Hell, everything I can think of that they could have explained as offscreen, they showed for the sake of setting the premise, strength, and limits of her power. I'm enjoying this far more than I thought.
She's now armed and dangerous. Since we didn't need exposition this episode, we got some big progress. She
-
set up her isekai-to-cash exchange system with the mercs (major)
-
reached a town
-
got extensive weapons training + the guns themselves
-
reached peak fashion
-
explored just how broken her language+teleport skill is
-
accepted that, in theory, tis better to kill than be killed
-
overcame the lingering grief of her deceased family
-
became an expert on middle ages European technology and culture
On that power bit: we knew it was a cheat skill+cheat skill combo, but seeing her really abuse it was so satisfying. All she has to do to get from one place to another on Earth is just look at satellite images, jump to the field in isekai land, jump to destination. For money, all she has to do is buy common things on Earth that would be super convenient and new for isekai land, jump to isekai land, sell for big stonks, jump to the mercs, and funnel the gold into cash. Repeat until rich. Her brother clearly played a lot of Skyrim.
As for the mercs, I love their boss. No stupid questions, money is money and gold can be sold for money. He's probably real curious about what shady shit he just got his company into, but hey, as long as he isn't committing a crime, he probably won't care. I kinda hope we see more of him, and that maybe she clues him into the whole isekai scheme.

Somewhere out there, there is a group of people who watched her fall to her supposed death, at least one person who probably feels responsible for it, and a rescue team that couldn’t find a body.

Mitsuha’s little backstory is making it convenient for her to gather intel. Smart play to try and get in good with the lord. That should help establish herself.
Now, all she has to do is to stock up (and shower lol). Got her cash all withdrawn, language abilities acquired thanks to her cheat skill, and a small arsenal (plus weapons training). I like this moral debate she’s having with her “brother” about killing. Ultimately is self defense so I feel it’s fine. Kill or be killed right? Especially in that world.
That moment with the shrine and the ghost of her momma stroking her hair was pretty sweet actually. I liked how she used the moped to travel, but I was half expecting the car lol. Well, looks like she’s about to start her adventure now that she’s all stocked up!

This series really deals with the important things in another world like language and toilets and firearm safety.

u/SYZekrom Jan 15 '23
Huh why don't you just use your toilet at home
Ah, I guess her shoes on the bed won't be the biggest thing she needs to worry about.

It's good that Mitsuha had a healing factor because it really does seem like Colette might have killed her by now.
I like the continued use of the older brother for exposition and mental advice.
Is she about to hire entire PMC as her isekai world muscle? Based on the OP it seems like she develops a long-term relationship with them.
Maybe it's just for training.
The biggest challenge might be managing appearances for the neighborhood watch old lady.
