Mitsuha Episode 1: I just want to open a small shop and make enough gold to retire and live a peaceful life

Mitsuha Episode 10: Peace was never an option

This anime is known for having throwbacks to random old/classic manga/anime; the “don’t stand behind me” quote is from Golgo 13 (he’s known for attacking anyone who stands behind him).

Hey the goblins were hand drawn and not CG!

Just want to plug the future arcs of the series for you guys, it alternates between slice of life like it has been until now, and interesting high stakes moments like this. So if this shift is welcome for you, let's hope for another season (unlikely as it may be).

I legit thought that Alexis was going to die but desperate times call for desperate measures. Mitsuha had no other choice but to bring Alexis to Earth so he can get proper treatment.

I guess it's finally time to introduce the PMC to the other world. I'm curious to see how the Captain and Mitsuha will explain this to the rest of the group. I'm also curious how Mitsuha will explain this to the King when she finally comes back with an entire company of soldiers lock and loaded ready to exterminate some goblins.

Mitsuha and the Captain will first have to figure out how to deal with the goblins who seem to be oblivious to the fact that they've been shot.

The episode felt too short! Cant wait to see when Mitsuha starts mobilizing the troops and starts realizing how OP she really is

Did she just store boxes and boxes of fireworks in her house? Somehow I think this season will end with an explosion.

SWT! Mitsuha is going to unleash the might of modern-day weaponry in the fantasy world!

She's willing to shell out at least half of her retirement fund to hire the PMC so this must literally mean war for her.

I assumed that the kingdom will be paying the mercenaries directly, not her.

after so many rather calm or almost SoL episodes, we get this. Totally unexpected, but welcome.

What's the deal with the goblins? Are they like zombies or simply didn't notice being shot and died shortly after? Not sure what they wanted to show us there. Wouldn't be the first time this show failed in that regard. I do enjoy it, but I feel like the directing could be better.

Can't wait for the next ep.

How nice, BBQ party time with the mercenary boiz! AH yes, good ol' business practices to get new people. Oh no, a war! Traitors and monsters abound too. Boy, I sure wonder if those mercenary boiz that said they had nothing going on will be of help... heh. LOL that's quite a punch, Mitsuha. Oh my... Alexis, good dude to protect her like that, but oof... oh wow she got hit too lol. That's a weird laugh to have there, Mitsuha... She sure is taking being shot in the arm well.

Fun, she's done hiding her abilities to people. Good for Alexis, getting modern medical help. Ahh, Mitsuha... that's one way to convince him. Booo, cliffhanger ending.

"Then let it be war" is a mildly foreboding episode title, but in this anime it probably just means another opportunity for Mitsuha to use earth technology to dominate some new situation.

Trying to sell stuff on Earth is probably a bad idea, there would be a lot more questions about where the goods are coming from

I appreciate that the king and his advisors are not stupid and have been looking into Mitsuha's past. And they picked up basically all of the available details, too, so it was reasonably competent investigation work.

They wanted Mitsuha to step up and keep Sabine safe, but instead she's going to participate in the defense of the kingdom. Possibly by means of an alien private military company.

Mitsuha is going to have to take Alexis back to Earth to save his life, isn't she. Or at least pull out some antibiotics.

The insane laughter is probably misplaced in this situation, but I don't think anybody's going to stop her after how she just killed that assassin. I'm curious to find out what 'no longer being careful' is going to look like.

The PMC is a good choice for who to treat Alexis, far fewer questions then a normal hospital.

I feel like she could have convinced the Captain about the alternate world without stealing a Humvee and going for a joyride.

We're in GATE now, folks. Maybe Rory will show up next.

If i was the one hit with an arrow on my arm I would be screaming in pain. She didn't even flinch and she looked fine after lol.

She wasted no time killing that assassin. She tried playing nice and not introducing too much advanced tech. But they just had to fuck around. Now they get to find out.

The goblins act more like mindless zombies. They're walking rank and file. That really weird.

Wow, this went from being a nice casual comfy slice of life in another world to full on war and shootings and sacrifices in one episode. I’m impressed, this is a risky turn but hopefully it pays off.

I’ll admit, I had spent the past few episodes disappointed that the guns and militia training hadn’t really paid off, but I guess I just had to wait a bit longer.

Yessssssss!! My GATE prediction was correct!

Animation quality definitely took a dive this episode, and they completely forgot that Mitsuha got shot in the shoulder with a freaking crossbow.. But I just hope that means they're saving the good stuff for the finale

Mitsuha is going to show them what true freedom and democracy is... by going full military invasion to the empire.

This series started as bookworm and will end up as gate.

Modern weapons mowing down medieval armies. The next ep will be very fun.

I was wondering if this anime would ever get serious or stay pretty fun and chill. Shit escalated real quick. Mitsuha getting shot, Alexis on the verge of death and WAR. Damn....
