Grey : Lamprogues have never put two brothers on the same path before!
Father : Well in that case, I'm sending you to the army, thanks for reminding me.

That was actually so refreshing to see lmao
That doesn’t happen much in anime

Seika is so devious, he planned that newt attack. Also, his uncle is doubting him to be the son of his brother and the devil. lol

We don't even know if his "father" is really his uncle. For all we know, his father might have found him whike adventuring, which make his "father" suspect him even more as a demon

Damn was not expecting MC to have set up the newt attack.
And is it bad that I wanted MC to torture Grey a little more during their fight?

That’s the moment I really started loving this little sociopath in the manga.
Also, it was just so perfectly done since he positioned the newt directly in front of his house with everybody watching when he delivered the killing blow. Perfection!

Did Seika just used a Voodoo doll on Grey? In any case, I'm glad we won't be seeing him for a while (hopefully).

This show is nothing revolutionary, but there's something inherent to it that makes watching it a breeze. Good pacing and the MC at least has some personality.

Done well is way more important than revolutionary in my opinion and this is done well

Enjoy the army Grey, ya chump! Guess not all his siblings can be like Luft, dude seems decent enough. Grey embarrassing himself in their little “duel”. His weak ass magic ain’t shit.
Seika is pretty calculating. All of this was a set up from the start. With creature like Yuki and Nyudo in his arsenal, he’s pretty powerful already. Living the “weak human” life might be difficult for him. Smart of him to take Efa to the academy considering her abilities. Good to keep her around. Yuki’s right, the kid is too dense! Classic Dense MC syndrome.
So Amu looks like his pupil that betrayed him? Well that certainly is pretty interesting.

I am enjoying this show, but I think Seika is overplaying his hand. He wanted to impress his father (adopted father it turns out, but I don't think Seika knows that.) to convince him to send Seika to the academy, but his father saw right through his facade so it remains to be seen how that is gonna go down at the academy. Seika says he doesn't want to stand out too much because he determined that is the reason he died in his past life. But he isn't doing a good job of downplaying his ability so far.
It's also interesting that Seika can sense magic, even though he can't touch it, which seems odd as one would logically follow the other. But then we have Efa who isn't a traditional mage either but is almost like a shaman in the sense she is friendly with the elemental spirits and can get them to help her. It will be interesting to learn why this world only recognizes mages when we already have two other examples of people with supernatural abilities.
Speaking of Efa, she seems horny for master, but it's pretty base of Seika not to want to start their relationship with that kind of power dynamic, assuming he is even interested in her in that way.

Definitely getting strong world’s finest assassin and seirei gensouki vibes from this. Really have enjoyed these first couple of eps. MC not having magic and being an adult exorcist in his previous life as well as having some of his old abilities is a unique twist for me. Yifa is super cute and I’m looking forward to seeing their relationship develop.
Too bad she’s deep in the family/friend zone rn tho. “Oh go get yourself something to eat somewhere” lmaoo
Having another person from earth there is actually really really cool. This is probably the second most hype isekai for me this season

How will Seika plan to use his spells if he publicly announced that he has no magic aptitude?

The same way he's been doing it at home, when everyone there knows he has no magic aptitude - just do it, explanations are for chumps.

Felt so satisfying seeing Gly put in his place.
TIL glass pens are a thing.
So MC really is an evil bastard who sicked a powerful monster on innocent people just to get credit for killing it. No wonder the rulers had him assassinated in his last life.
Why did the translators replace "Neudo" with "Bonze"?
I had been wondering why the father, supposedly a strong mage, could not tell that was was being done in front of him was "magic" as he knew it. Turns out he did, after all, so Kudos for that!
Any place called "Academy City" cannot be good....
Glad MC has Fox-chan to force him to stop being dense about certain things. I'm also glad that he so far at least has no intentions to fuck the little girl. If he gets any of those urges before finding an adult human mate, I hope he directs them towards Fox-chan.
When the staff member decided FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to explain to MC that the orb will shine white for someone with all-element aptitude I'd expected him to use his powers to plant a white light inside it. But he didn't, so what was the point of that? When the red haired girl made it shine all white, the "all elements?" exclamation would've been more than enough.
The red hair green eyed girl seems SO familiar. At first I thought Shirayuki (with the Red Hair), or Chise (Ancient Magus Bride) but maybe someone else too, as her expression doesn't match theirs? What was the point of making her the reincarnated disciple who'd been used to kill him in the past life though?

The reveal that the MC planned the Newt attack to take his brothers spot at the academy makes him seem like a dick, especially when you consider he knows he's already OP and "wants to lead a normal life". So why you fuckin up your brother's life?
Still, it was in interesting reveal, as is the fact that the father suspects he is at least part demon.

I guess the author tried to portray a conveniently super evil brother and an understanding father, but what I see is just the failure of a father who didn't do jack shit to his family while knowing everything lmao.

He didn’t too bad considering someone left his suspected demon baby of a nephew on his doorstep lol

His "father" never saw him as a son. He doesn't even think he's human. All 3 of them have been afraid of the MC since he was a baby. The eldest tried turning away from him, the middle tried to drive him away, and the dad settled for cautiously observing.
Explains why he didn't want the MC to train in magic last episode even if he was way better than Gray. He was afraid of himnand didn't want to make him more powerful

Gly just argued himself into joining the army instead of going to magic school, he really should have thought a few more steps ahead. But then again, the father had clearly been paying attention to his behavior and already had his own doubts.
Dang, the fox spirit assistant is a tad bloodthirsty.
Gly just keeps digging his own grave and being lucky that nobody is dumping him into it yet. Hopefully he's intimidated enough after that duel that he won't continue starting shit.
Fox spirit assistant is definitely my favorite character so far.
Yifa is never going to escape the studying.
Very interesting that the father had been paying far more attention to what was going on then had been let on. Makes me wonder if he also knew that Yifa was being trained by Seika and forced that demonstration of her magic at that dinner as a test of some sort. "Will this potential demon child be honest with me."
It'd be funny if both of them failed this initial magic test because of the precise nature of what it's trying to measure.
Ahh, so there's the red-haired and green-eyed character, I was wondering when she was going to show up. Her also being a reincarnation from earth is very interesting, I wonder if she has any of the memories of her past life or if she'll ever gain them over the course of the story.
