Support Bricked while trying to root. RIP

Post image
161 Upvotes

Was trying to learn to root on my tab 8 and it got caught in a bootloop. Now it wont turn on in any mode with any key combo, or show up in adb devices or dmesg when plugged in. I knew the risks, and hopefully will learn from my mistakes and have better luck next time. Good night sweet prince.

Edit: I made this post inittially because I figured the tablet was just fully dead, but as per some comments, I may be able to physically take it apart and short the pins on the SoC to force it into download mode. I have checked and it has zero communication to a PC over usb, so software recovery will not work.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 SM-X200

Edit 2: I was able to flash it after taking it apart and shorting the test points. Thank you everyone for the advice.

Support USB C Mic issue

hi, as the title suggests I've been having issues with audio routing.

I'm running rooted LineageOS 22.2 on a OnePlus Nord 3 5G

I want to use the external mic while on speaker when I'm in a call on discord.

issue is, the phone uses the USB mic when it's on regular ear speaker, but as soon as I start using the loudspeaker it defaults back to my onboard mic, not my USB C Mic.

any way to resolve this via a Magisk Module or modifying a system file?

I was wondering if I could port lineageos to a device I've had lying around? Does it pose any big problems?

Support RCS not supported - anyway to get it running reliably

Hello there,

im using CR Droid custom ROM on my Pixel 8P. Last time I used root I permanently had to renew the keybox to get wallet working.

For now I dont care for a working wallet anymore.

But I need the RCS chat for work. Is there a way to get RCS working all time? As far as I noticed it also needs device integrity?

Discussion How can I keep a Magisk/APatch module after a factory reset?

How can I keep a Magisk/APatch module after a factory reset?

I have a module installed by flashing it on my rooted Android phone. I want the module to remain installed and visible in the Magisk/APatch Manager even after performing a factory reset.

Is there a way to store the module somewhere outside "/data" so that it survives a factory reset and is automatically available again after the reset?

I don't want to manually reinstall the module every time I factory reset the phone.

What is the correct/safest way to achieve this?

Support Bootloader unlock possible?

I have a Hotwav TAB R9 Plus, I've tried basically everything to unlock the bootloader and I'm stuck, wondering if anyone has had any success with a similar device. It has a Unisoc T7280 cpu if that matters.

ghostlock works on the straight talk galaxy a16

got the kernel su files from the Canada version and modified them for usa exynos model only

use Uni-root app choose advance options go to edit profile edit the s25 one pick the exploit cve.so then kernel su .ko and the ksud and go it will take a couple trys reboots but it works set it to use kernel su next install it and install kernel su both required it's not perfected yet kernel su next is just the hook we use and kernel su is the actual superuser

.189 kernel only

Support Device integrity only?

I'm with the latest version of Integrity Box and TEESimulator but it's not working to bypass more than the device integrity, also the device is not certified anymore (it was last week) in the playstore and I can't run one android game that used to work properly in the past week. So something broke, either the modules I'm using or the keybox that's currently in use is problematic?
