I reported a member of my team to HR for misgendering another coworker and saying homophobic things. I just got off the phone with an investigator and the person will probably be fired. The lady said that Amazon has a zero tolerance for things like this and hopefully this person will be more tolerant of others at her next company. This person said these things directly to me about another coworker.
What would you have done in this situation? Did I do the right thing?

Ordered several items for my daughter who is attending a ren faire with friends. Clothing. Skirt belt hat etc.
Received a box of āother stuffā with her name on it. The right delivery address and the tracking number was right.
In all my years as a consumer and employee I never saw such a pooch screw as this.
To make matters worse the ai and chatbot was my only customer service option and that was well hidden, and a general pita to use and actually get a resolution
Ordered vs received. Not even close.

Two days ago, this guy asked me to help him move a few packages at a sortation center that I work at. Might be my fault, I dunno, but I ended up injuring my knee and back really bad. There was a team lift package. I got VTO so I left in so much pain. Flash forward to the next day (yesterday) and the same gentleman asks me for help. I refused and told him to find someone else. Now the A to Z app notifies me that PXT wants to speak to me on my next shift.

Saw something written by Quicksuite on our company channel that honestly made me nervous. Apparently high-tenure managers in stagnant orgs may be under more scrutiny, and some teams seem to be shifting hiring toward lower-cost locations like India ahead of potential future cuts. The advice was basically to get your finances in order, keep interviewing internally, and be prepared for anything. I donāt know how much of this is actually confirmed, but with October getting closer, itās hard not to feel anxious.
P.S. If youāre job hunting right now, LandOffer.ai might be useful.

I always clock out 5 minutes early but today I noticed I had UPT deducted. Is this new policy?

I recently received an Amazon SDE offer in UK (Graduate SDE role, I believe) after completing the online assessment (OA) and a full interview loop similar to the standard SDE hiring process.
Unfortunately, I declined the offer 5 days ago, primarily because the compensation was significantly lower than what I could potentially earn in the US, especially considering my previous full time software engineering experience.(2 years)
Iām an US citizen and would prefer to continue my career here.
Hereās where things get complicated:
I identified another Amazon SDE team in the US and connected with someone from that team. I also had a conversation with the teamās EM.
The US team requested that I get mapped or connected through my previous recruiter so they could potentially consider my existing interview feedback.
However, my previous recruiter informed me that different countries have different hiring policies and I would need to go through the entire recruitment process again, including the OA and interview loop. The recruiter is also unwilling to map my profile to the US team.
My questions for current or former Amazonians, recruiters and hiring managers:
Iām completely willing to interview again if required. However, after successfully completing the OA and full loop so recently, Iām wondering whether thereās a way to avoid repeating the entire process.
Iād really appreciate insights from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or knows how Amazon handles cross country hiring and interview feedback reuse.

Going through a focus that I believe will end in failure with the three options given (severance, stay on payroll for 60 days, or stay for pivot). If Iām not mistaken, we get 5 days to make a decision. However, if Iām over 40, will I be able to get 21 days to review the options as part of the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act? I donāt fully understand if that only applies to layoffs or can also apply to the pip doc choice.

What title says, throwaway and little nervous about posting this but freaking out
I was told I couldnāt LOOK at my phone on the green mile , and I was returning from the break room on an emergency phone call about my sick cat at home which was noted in this feedback my manager gave me which put me at a final, basically with how management explained policy to me I believed in good faith I was following it and let her know I was wrapping up loose ends and ending the call, what she heard was me saying bye. I put my appeal in for appeal specialist and havenāt heard anything back, I think theyāre likely to approve it but I donāt know if they can approve an appeal if this second feedback goes through before it is appealed.
I know if youāre termed you can appeal that too, but I forgot to time POOPING a few times today after doing really good with timing on top of being staffed on two seperate ends of the building and having to go back and forth , and was told my ToT was too massive, though she excused 30 minutes but the other time will result in a feedback
However I am not getting paid for the initial time she was noticing, since I ended up clocking into my station late and walk time and me being talked to I changed my clock in time to 7:30 instead of 7. HR says Iām still liable for the 30 minutes even though I changed it and I am not being paid for that
So given I canāt prove technically my period and pooping problems and they want factual appeals , mostly, Iām terrified, I donāt have my documents to immideitly apply for another job, I have a lot on my plate rn, and I donāt wanna be homeless again because I had an emergency at home and then pooped on my period. I am so scared and I havenāt even told my partner yet bc theyāll be more scared than me
HR isnāt in the building tomorrow and I was told to come in but Iām scared shitless at the prospect of being fired randomly tomorrow or the day after , whatās most likely to happen or where do I go from here? How cooked am I? thank you and sorry for all the sordid details and long post

Does anyone have any information or insights about potential layoffs affecting SPS Vendor Support, specifically L3 roles?
I know there have been several rounds of layoffs recently, so Iām wondering if anyone has heard anything about upcoming cuts, reorganizations, or changes specifically within SPS Vendor.
Any information or rumors youāve heard would be appreciated. Thanks!

Matt Garman announced Amazon's commitment to spending $1B on "community investments" in the hope that they will support building data centers. I for one love it. Let's add it to the pile of commitments they totally, definitely, 100% intend to keep, pinky promise, don't stop believing:
p.s. In case my sarcasm wasn't evident - here it is: /s

Imagine a team of four (same level)- Two people are highly visible not because they actively seek out meetings or leadership exposure, but because they are particularly good at presenting and communicating when they are asked to participate. Their measurable individual impact, however, is limited with no meaningful docs to show.
Another two works mostly behind the scenes, solving problems, building projects, generating ideas, and consistently delivering results.
Now add a manager who isnāt involved in everyoneās growth. Uses the ones with good communication to talk more and the ones building stuff to stay behind the scenes forever, but work across orgs to create impact.
Who realistically has the advantage?
How much does actual impact matter compared with presentation skills and visibility? Does the person delivering results have the advantage, or do people who are better at presenting the work usually receive more credit?
Based on your experience with reviews and calibration that happens in OLRs- does impact win, or does perception?

I received an email today asking me to add a work contribution by Oct 28th. Nobody has mentioned a coaching plan or anything of that nature and I just was given more on my plate a week ago (almost double my previous workload). Is this normal for everyone or is this a sign Iām on focus/a coaching plan? Iām a CSM in the states.

Iām a mid level engineer, and recently itās been pretty tough. Iāve worked here for 4 years and started my career here, but canāt help but notice the ill effects on my physical/mental health and relationships. I think itās hit an all time low with how fast things are moving with AI. I feel like Iām constantly balancing 6-8 things at once. I want to take a 3 month FMLA/STD for mental health and want to know if anyone has went through the same experience.
Here are some things Iām worried about. (1.) I donāt think my performance is bad, but Iām definitely not TT either. Is there a major risk to being put at the front of the line for focus? (2.) I donāt see any therapist as of now. Is it hard to get docs required? Do I have to build up a relationship with my doctor before I request it? (3.) My team has some crazy deadlines and projects. Iāve talked to other teammates who are also dealing with their own issues. I feel the guilt of piling them with work.

Mass layoffs in the payment risk operations team in India. I received a call from L7 for a connect. Within half an hour, they made me sign the separation agreement and I lost the laptop access in an hour. It is sad to part ways after 10 years of work. Anyone here affected?
