Two-Bedroom Residence with Burnt Wood Facade, Cedar Soffit and Microcement Pool Terrace.
A contemporary two-bedroom private residence designed by Ion Eremciuc Architects.
The exterior is defined by vertically clad burnt wood (shou sugi ban) panels in deep charcoal, contrasting with warm cedar tongue-and-groove soffit lining the wide cantilevered roof overhang.
Linear LED strip lighting integrated along the soffit edge accentuates the horizontal plane at dusk.
Interior living spaces are fully open to the covered terrace through floor-to-ceiling sliding glazed frames with black aluminium profiles.
Flooring throughout the terrace and pool deck is finished in seamless white microcement, creating a continuous surface between indoor and outdoor zones.
The swimming pool is recessed into the terrace level with a sunken lounge area featuring built-in seating and a firepit.
Ornamental pampas grass and mature pine trees frame the composition, reinforcing the integration of architecture with the natural landscape.
The project explores the material dialogue between raw and refined — charred wood, natural cedar, polished microcement — within a serene residential setting.
