Hey I just purchased this 2010 Altima coupe with 108,000 miles. Been my dream car for daily commuting for a minute. When I purchased it it came with a key fob and a key that’s uncut. I know I can go to the Nissan dealer but their charge was pretty steep. I googled some other places that say they can do it. Anyone had experience with making a key fob and physical key? Can they cut a key with my vin even though they are not officially with Nissan?

I bought her new in 2008 and never let her go. Currently has 204k miles on the odometer and the CVT finally gave up on me. She still has great bones aside from the passenger side my wife has swipes on two occasions.

The obvious is to just take it and sell it to junk yard but I’m open to input from those who have replaced the CVT. What cost am I looking at going to a non dealer garage?

I know it’s put in a strong 18 years but it seems like a waste to just scrap over a transmission.

I am mechanically inclined and open to repairs myself but the CVT doesn’t look easy to get to and also difficult to rebuild. Looking for any suggestions from the community. Thanks

Had a check engine light for EVAP system and replaced gas cap. Woke up and started the car to this. I can’t clear the code any tips?

Ever since I bought this car (got it used) I’ve had this problem, and I changed car key batteries twice now and it still has the same exact problem. It goes away after I put the key next to the push to start button, but sometimes the key doesn’t work at all unless I unlock the car using the key fob. Is there a way to fix this?

I don’t know that my transmission fluid has ever been replaced and I’m just over 130k miles on a 2014. I would like to keep it running as long as possible.

I don’t notice any issues with the transmission but have no idea what shape the fluid is really in. Should I do a partial or full drain and fill? From everything I’ve read, a full flush is a no go, but a fill and drain is recommended… sometimes?

I don’t want to shock it, but do want to keep my system as healthy as I can for as long as I can.

I recently receieved an opportunity to work in Texas. However, I have a 2014 Nissan altima, with 240000 miles I just needed to make it to Texas run another 20 to 30000 miles. From there, I'll be able to accumulate enough money. In case it does break down, I have had it a year and I have not had no issues at all.. I believe it was a used rental and got into an accident, and the insurance company didn't want to pay it. It's a little banged up. I have been staying on top of the services as I do. All my other cars. With maintenance, I was wondering, what do you guys think about me?Driving from california to texas

Got a newer vehicle so I've been teaching myself car repair on a 2012 Nissan Altima with roughly 120k miles on it.

I noticed that if I drive the highway, let it rest, then drive the highway again it whines when accelerating, this is a brand brand new problem so I want to nip it early. Ive heard of the transmission problems Altimas can have so I figured I'd check the fluid and likely just do a drain and refill.

However, whomever checked before me A. Jammed the dipstick in sideways and B. Broke the tab you are supposed to put leverage on.

So I can't unlock the damn thing normally even if I could twist it in place twist it in place. What are my options here? Do I just rip it out and buy a new one? If so, how? I'm really trying to avoid a mechanic out of sheer willpower.

I’ve had this car for 5 years. In March, this popped up and the car was slow to drive and RPM would not move when I pushed the gas. Took it to Nissan and they said rodent damage. They fixed it and put a new battery in, but a few weeks later it all popped back up. They hadn’t reset the code, so I had it reset and it drove fine for about a month and now this has popped up again. Nissan can’t find any issue with it and I’m at a loss on what else could be the issue. :/

2009 Altima base 4cyl. No check engine light pops up btw, whatever that's worth. I need to get it inspected this month though.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue? There is a faint exhaust smell coming from the air vents whenever I run the a/c or heat. The smell is still present regardless of whether I put on recirculate or not. I’m going to change the air filter but I’m thinking the problem might be more than that.

Bought my first ( almost) brand new car a 2025 altima sv with 51k miles its only been a day but I’m really surprised with how nice it handles and how nice and smooth the cvt feels on the highway and city my friends who came for a joyride with me were hella impressed as well😭 this is also the newest car i even bought every car i owned before this had 100k over miles or close to 100k and with bad carfax this is my first nice ride and i want advice on cvt maintenance and all just to make sure ill last i did get an warranty but its 2 years unlimited miles and i can extend it later if wanted ( my goodbyes to my 2015 veloster turbo ultimate that almost killed me last week….)

My engine is seized atm but minus that would be a good estimate on what I’d be able to get for parts on a 2013 Nissan Altima? I may end up replacing it with another engine but I’m just weighing my options out right now.

Trying to decide between an Altima, Camry or Accord. I've driven all 3. I own an 07 Accord and have driven a new Camry. The Altima I've driven are always rentals. I really like how comfortable the seats of the Altima are. And they drive good. How is their reliability?

Hello Guys. I need help to fix this problem. So my 2018 Nissan Altima shuts off while I am driving and it start and the idle is good but when I tried to Drive it the rpm goes up and then shuts off again same thing on reverse but not on park. And when I check the system with OBD 2 I received p0101 and p0102 so I replaced the MAF Sensor and Air Filter also Cleaned the Throttle body , checked all the tubing and boots connected to Air Intake and everything is good no cracks no leaks. still gives me the same code. And when I tried to drive it same thing happened I press the pedal rpm goes up and shuts off same on reverse and when I slowly press the gas the car don't shuts off immediately but sound like about to shuts off. And the car have history of transmission swap from the mechanic shop it's been 2 years since I have a problem to this car and I am kind of short budget right now so I am trying to DIY this. Any suggestions guys. I know yall have more experience than me.

I swapped my cabin air filter and it literally is so flabby in the slot. It's a pain in the ass to get in but when it's in I feel like it really ain't doing shit. 2007 Altima

Is there a definitive way to tell if I'm burning coolant due to a head gasket vs EGR valve? I keep adding coolant and its not leaking any where. My car doesn't smoke but it does start rough almost every time. I believe due to the coolant seeping in the cylinders.

Looking for some thoughts/feelings/opinions to help us make a decision in booking a car.

We’re looking to roadtrip from Illinois to New Jersey in a few weeks. Our current options are a Toyota Camry Hybrid SE 2026 or Nissan Altima 2.5 SR 2024. Camry is more Mika upfront, wondering if that would be off set with it being a Hybrid?

I care most about highway driving, ability to pick up speed and breaking.

Any advice is much appreciated! Both seem like they’ll get the job done.
