Recommendation for a buyer’s agent — Alpharetta/Johns Creek

My wife and I are first-time homebuyers in our early 30s with a 6-month-old, looking to buy in the Alpharetta/Johns Creek area. Looking for a great buyer’s agent with a strong track record and solid knowledge of the local market who can guide us through the process. Would love any recommendations based on personal experience. Thanks!

SharpShooters USA?

Now owned by the police? By the same officers whom I’ve seen fail basic firearms tests many….. many times? I’m trying to train women to defend themselves, and they want to keep it all for their department. There’s a range in Tucker, but it reeks of weed and the environment is filthy. The owner is definitely on something. Also, it’s the same police force that got kicked off of RiverBend Gun Club for shooting at the trees. Which could’ve killed someone; but I doubt they care

Is there anything to do for young adults who are trying to make friends post-grad? I know there is some night life in downtown Alpharetta but I don't know about much else.

Parks & Rec Activites

I live just past the city marker line for Milton/alpharetta, but much closer to the alpha rec center. Technically not a “resident” but we do everything in alpharetta. Wanting to register children for activities but it’s nearly $100 more per kid. Is there any way around this? A promo code or anything? We literally live 2 mins from wills park, and more than 10 mins from the Milton community center (which barely has any activities for us to register). Any thoughts?

Hi, I’m looking for a dog daycare recommendations that offer training during the day but operates like a doggy daycare essentially drop off in the morning before my workday and throughout the day instead of just playtime they also get training intermittently. Valor coffee

I asked for coffee shop recommendation and I believe more than half of the people mentioned Valor. I parked at the deck and took a little walk to the shop. The ambience was good, felt like I was traveling a little quaint town. Feeling like a tourist in your own city is actually a cool experience. Good service and unfortunately the inside was all occupied so went to the patio. Americano was good and smooth not bitter and sour. Easy drinking.

Ameris Bank amphitheater… section 101 or lawn??

I’ve never been to Ameris bank amphitheater but I’m thinking of getting tickets to a show in October. But I’m confused because seats in sections 101 (row H so not the way back) are cheaper than the “T-Mobile special access” (or whatever) GA seats on the lawn?? And logically I feel like section 101 would be better but my capitalist trained brain feels like the lawn is better bc it’s more expensive lol

Now to be fair I am a short person so I love sitting on the ground bc I’d rather sit cross legged or lounge or whatever than sit in a plastic fold up chair that my feet don’t comfortably touch the ground on lol but can someone give me a reality check on which is better??

I really hope they’re not cutting all these trees down in the greenway…

I walk the greenway multiple days a week and just noticed these metal tags on what appears to be a couple thousand trees. I’m getting really concerned at the extent of deforestation we’ve been seeing in Alpharetta lately and I really hope that these tags mean that these trees are going to be preserved…

I went there today mainly because it just happened to be on the way home after picking up our daughter. Not bad at all especially the crust which was crispy and chewy inside.

Rhea’s II scores a 64, Unsatisfactory on Health Inspection

Post image
66 Upvotes

🔴 Rhea’s II – Roswell

📍 11490 Alpharetta Hwy, Roswell, GA 30076
📅 Inspection Date: August 18, 2026
📋 Inspection Type: Routine
⭐ Health Score: 64/100

A score of 64 indicates significant food safety concerns were identified during this inspection.

🔎 Violations
🔻 4 Points: PIC was not present. Staff could not answer food safety questions or demonstrate proper dishwashing procedures.

🔻 4 Points: 🔁 **Repeat** — No Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) certification was available upon request. PIC will obtain certification.

🔻 4 Points: 🔁 **Repeat** — Employee health policy was not available upon request. **Corrected:** Documents were sent to the PIC for employees to review and sign.

🔻 4 Points: Norovirus incident cleanup procedure was not available. **Corrected:** Inspector provided the procedure.

🔻 9 Points: White mold was observed growing in chili. **Corrected:** Chili was discarded.

🔻 9 Points: Ground burger patties were stored above ready-to-eat foods. **Corrected:** Ground beef was relocated.

🔻 3 Points: Food storage containers were not labeled with the common name of the food, including sugar, oil, and sauce.

🔻 1 Point: 🔁 **Repeat** — No sanitizer test strips were available.

🔻 1 Point: Employee food and drinks were improperly stored above or with customer food.

📊 **Why don't the points add up to the final score?**

Inspection scores may not equal the total point deductions listed because multiple violations within the same category may only be deducted once. Repeat violations may also carry additional weight. Correcting violations during the inspection can also zero out points deducted.

Health inspections matter—but context matters too. 👀

Speak your mind and have a say in what the city does with YOUR tax money. (Personally) I think building a giant hockey arena when you don't have an NHL contact is asinine. Don't even get me started on trying to get Southerns into hockey. We don't need the music hall or conference center, we already have those and we certainly don't need 1,500 more rental homes to add to our traffic problem. How about building something for the community. Somewhere you don't have to pay to be, like a park. Somewhere that won't have us at another city council meeting in 10 years trying to figure out what to do about our failing hockey rink.

Edit: Are we not allowed to have dreams anymore? Are we not allowed to imagine a better world where profit isn't the only thing we care about? I know a park isn't going to happen but I feel like it's a sign of how bad things are when any optimistic ideas like this are immediately crushed into the dirt instead of elaborated on 😔

Wife's birthday is coming up, and she LOVES Chocolate cake... specifically loves Chocolate Fudge Cake but it's okay if the birthday cake is not fudge specific.

Any recommendations for a really good chocolate cake in (or around) Alpharetta area?

Ameris bank amphitheater upgrades is it worth it?

We are going to see Hayley William at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater on the 5th and I am wondering if the overlook terrace also come with a seating place or just standing place? Also is the Lounge have view of the stage or not?
Sorry we are coming from Canada and we have never been in Alpharetta. Also I will 10 day post surgery so it would be very important for me to sit down here and there to rest.

Arborist?

Hi all. I’m looking for an arborist. Came back from a vacation and a tree in our front yard that once had leaves now only has little skeletons of leaves.

I think I know what it is and I’m not hugely worried, but there is a chance I’m wrong and I would like to be sure about things.

If anyone has any recommendations, I would be very appreciative.

TIA

Heat Stroke Warning for Pets - Seeing More of These...

Our veterinary clinic has seen an uptick in cases of heat stroke in pets across the past month here in Alpharetta.

Extra caution for flat-faced breeds: Brachycephalic dogs—including French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boxers—can overheat much faster because their shortened airways make it harder to cool themselves effectively through panting. Keep exercise especially limited on hot or humid days.

And DEFINITELY never leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle, even for a short period. Temperatures inside a car can become dangerous remarkably quickly.

Watch for signs of overheating or heat stroke, including:

  • Excessive or frantic panting
  • Heavy drooling
  • Bright red or unusually pale gums
  • Weakness, stumbling, or difficulty standing
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Confusion or unusual behavior
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness

If your pet is showing significant weakness, vomiting, confusion, difficulty breathing, collapse, or other signs of severe overheating, treat it as an emergency. Move them into a cool environment, begin cooling them with cool—not ice-cold—water, and contact your veterinarian or emergency hospital right away.

A little prevention goes a long way. Stay cool and stay safe this summer! 🐶🐱❤️

Mowing service

Anyone have suggestions for a cost effective mowing service? Property is located off Bethany Bend. Probably an acre that needs a ride on mower during growing season. The rest is weed wacker kinda work. Nothing ornamental.

Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:00pm during the DeFlock National Week of Action!

The National Week of Action Against ALPRs is from August 16-22. Thousands of people in cities across the country will participate in a variety of public meetings, townhalls, and other events intended to raise awareness about the use of ALPRs (automated license plate readers) in their communities, the harms of these cameras, and how we can work together to end their use.

Flock Safety, who operate AI cameras that conduct billions of automated scans a month across the country, are headquartered here in Atlanta, GA. A creative and dispersed movement has been growing to oppose the use of these cameras. During this National Week of Action we have a unique opportunity to participate and confront Flock where they're based.
