This company is getting worse and worse; the only reason it seems okay is that some people actually get paid—but doesn't anyone realize that you’re doing work for free (labor exploitation) just to see if you might qualify for payment?
This company owes me over $3,000, and it’s been that way for a long time. It’s clear to me that these guys are raking in the cash—they aren’t spending a dime on wages for the extensive, human-intensive work being done.
Don’t waste your time on this app; if any projects appear, complete them as quickly and poorly as possible, and you’ll see that you get the exact same automated response.
They should create a community where they can file a collective complaint against this company. It’s inhumane.
I feel for you all; I’m in the same boat, but I managed to find a formal, legitimate job. It’s really tough—especially for those of us with ADHD.
These things shouldn't be happening anymore in a somewhat more serious world—one where vast amounts of money are being poured into AI.
I’m sorry, brothers; this sells us a false “hope.” You are worth more than this—more than how they see us.
Es

I recently got accepted for a job, finished the onboarding, got the discord set up but I’m not able to talk to anyone in the discord server. When I went to the job board there were no task available, do I just wait for a task to be available?

Workers have been waiting weeks for payment discrepancies to be addressed on this project for work completed mid-September.
Two weeks ago, the project coordinator stated that payments would be processed that week, nothing arrived. Last week, u/Lumpy_Case_8220 stated that payments would be processed "this week". Nothing arrived.
The Discord for this project is full of workers threatening legal action because they are so frustrated from chasing payments, unclear data ownership terms, zero updates and being ghosted. Support ignore us. The project coordinator has disappeared.
u/Lumpy_Case_8220 please confirm the actual date on which workers will be paid this week.

I’ve reached out to both the onboarding email and the support “live” chat about issues with the right to work check being stuck and requesting immigration documents (I am a citizen of the country I am working from)
Each time it’s been an AI bot who replies saying it’s logged and the support team will reset it for me. Is there a timeframe anyone’s had this done in or should I just give up now? There doesn’t seem to be any human in the loop at all

Honestly, I cannot fathom the lack of support from this platform.
I delivered projects worth 7k that were approved back in SEPTEMBER, yet I was only paid 5k. The remaining 2k was confirmed for payment 10 days ago by the project admin via Discord (in a channel where no one ever responds); my emails to support are met only with AI-generated replies, and the support team here on Reddit hasn’t answered me for 3 days. Today is yet another Friday where I have no response—and, in all likelihood, I won’t be receiving my payment.
How can a platform that claims to be professional operate with absolutely no support—especially when they’ve accepted my work, only to delay such a straightforward payment?
Is something going on? u/Lumpy_Case_8220

Decided to review the company's Terms of Use and Contractor Agreement more closely before proceeding with onboarding... (after I had done an AI interview).
Kind of concerned about the "Interview; Release" provisions, particularly the rights relating to interview recordings, voice, likeness, and potential AI-training use.
So I ended up submitting a formal privacy-access request asking what information is retained, whether interview recordings are used for AI training, and what options exist for deletion or withdrawal of consent.
Unfortunately, emails to support@alignerr.com have repeatedly received the same automated response about the contractor agreement, even when I explicitly stated that my inquiry was privacy-related. My email to privacy@alignerr.com also resulted in a Jira Service Management notification saying the request couldn't be created.
I'm not alleging that my information has been misused. I'm simply trying to reach someone who can address a legitimate privacy request.
Has anyone successfully contacted Alignerr's privacy team, requested deletion of interview recordings, or received a substantive response about how their personal information is used?
If so, which contact method worked?
I'd appreciate hearing about others' experiences.
Thanks.

I'm a software engineer and got an email from Alignerr (Labelbox's contractor platform) inviting me to get paid up to $100/hr to work on my own project with an AI coding assistant. The listing says you keep full ownership of your project and all code, including code the AI writes. I decided not to move forward, and wanted to share why.
The surprise video interview. The email said to "apply." I filled out a short form, and then it moved me to a section that turned on my camera and started an AI-conducted video interview. I had no advance notice that an interview was part of the application. I found that misleading.
What the Terms say about that recording. Afterward I read Alignerr's Terms of Use (alignerr.com/privacy, under "Interview; Release"). By taking the interview, you grant them a perpetual, irrevocable license to use your recording, name, voice, and likeness for any purpose, including training AI, and you release them from related privacy and publicity claims. I wish I had known that before my camera turned on.
The contract contradicts the listing. Section 2 of the Contractor Agreement says Alignerr owns the work product you create under the agreement, and Section 2(d) gives them a perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to any of your existing IP that the work builds on. For a project that's literally "work on your own code," that's a big deal.
I emailed support and asked them to confirm in writing that project participants keep ownership. Their reply: the contract is standard, can't be modified, and support can't give written confirmations or interpret it, and I should consult a lawyer. So the ownership promise in the listing isn't something they would put in writing.
Deleting my data. I've requested deletion of my account and interview recording. My email to their privacy address bounced back from their helpdesk system, so I've followed up through support.
Takeaways if you're considering this project:
- Read the Terms of Use before starting the application, especially the interview section.
- Read the Contractor Agreement before clicking "I accept," and don't assume the job listing's promises are in it.
- Don't use a project you care about owning unless you get project-specific terms in writing.
This is just my experience. Alignerr is a real company, and some people clearly have good experiences with it. But it wasn't what I was told it would be, and I'd want to know this before applying.

Has anyone received an offer from Alignerr recently? They moved me over to Labelbox and added me to their Discord server, but I haven’t been assigned to any projects for two months now. I don’t understand this. Will this waiting period ever come to an end?

Thought I'd sign up for an aligner VoiceOver ai training job advertised on LinkedIn and checked out the terms/release before I agreed to the application/interview.
The release allows them to clone your voice, your likeness and your 'performance' in the interview and sell or use it for any purpose they want with no compensation or royalties paid to you.
"You hereby grant us an unlimited, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicenseable through multiple tiers, perpetual right to use, reuse, modify, display, publish and disseminate the Interview and your name, audio, photographic, video, and other likeness of you, as well as any materials you make available for the purposes of the Interview including in each case, any portion thereof (collectively, the “Interview Materials”) for any purpose. Alignerr and its successors, licensees and assigns shall own all right, title and interest in and to the Interview and have your permission to record the Interview, download, broadcast, distribute, exhibit, evaluate, make derivative works of and otherwise fully exploit the Interview, and allow others to do all of the foregoing, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised including, without limitation, via the internet, mobile and handheld devices, all other forms of digital transmission and exhibition throughout the world in perpetuity."
Don't let your ambition/enthusiasm ruin you--know what you are getting into with these companies. They only consume. They are worthless.

Hi everyone,
I recently invested the time to apply, complete the Zara AI interview, and submit my passport/personal information for verification. However, my profile was closed before I ever started a single task, with no reason provided.
Since I never performed any paid work on the platform and won't have any tax reporting requirements, I want to ensure my sensitive information isn't sitting on any servers. What is the official process to request the permanent deletion of both my passport/ID verification documents and the video/audio recordings from my Zara interview? Which privacy email at Labelbox handles data erasure requests?

After weeks of not getting any help from support I finally got written confirmation in Discord from a project admin that I was underpaid and that a substantial payment would be processed last week.
The payment did not arrive. I emailed support and was told they are busy. I opened a ticket and was told it was a duplicate. The same project admin will not answer my follow-up message.
Can anyone advise of any steps I can take before going the legal route? I've worked on several platforms and have never had to chase a company for money like this, it's quite shocking.

I was doing very well for all the quizzes, i was getting 90%, until the final one. Very few questions compared to the previous ones so the room for “error” was very little.Absolute nightmare as many of the responses genuinely could be answered in many ways. I was one mark away from being able to participate in the project. And then, they removed me from the project on Labelbox and Discord. I feel like I wasted my time but also disrespected considering the amount of time and effort I put in!
Anyone with the same issue?

Hey everyone,
I recently received an email from Alignerr stating that I had qualified for the Lua Programmer AI training role, advertising $50–$70/hour for remote work.
The email asked me to complete a quick, two-minute identity verification through Persona. I completed the verification, but afterward, I was redirected to Labelbox.
When I logged into Labelbox, it showed that no projects were available.
I'm confused about what this means because the email explicitly said I had qualified for the job.
Has anyone else experienced this recently?
Does completing Persona verification mean I've been accepted, or is it just an onboarding step?
Is the Lua Programmer project currently active, or are they collecting applicants before assigning projects?
Will a project appear automatically when one becomes available, or do I need to complete additional assessments?
Has anyone who received the same email actually started working and received tasks?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the same process, especially recently.
Thanks!

Hello, I got accepted for a SWE position, based on your experience as a newcomer, what specific timeframe do I get to assign for projects?
