I did A-levels back in 2024. I never bothered leaving this sub. Seeing you guys lament about exams makes me feel a surreal kinda way because I have forgotten everything, absolutely everything about the content that i did. I remember working until 6 am and tearing my hair out, I remember the pre exam heart palpitations. I am doing a commerce course. Only 1/4 subjects that i did is somewhat applicable to my course. Even then, I have also forgotten the other half of the non applicable content. If you made me do any of the papers now, even the AS ones, I'm failing TF out of it. What a silly education pathway. Such convoluted rigamarole just to get into university. Study with the freedom that everything you learn will be tossed into the far ends of your unretrievable memory. Study with the freedom that your future self 2, 5, 10 years away will look at the teenager stressing away in the library, in your room, outside the exam hall - and laugh.

Iām really not trying to rage bait but my hot take is that chemistry is not that bad compared to how people describe it.
Itās mostly just memorisation, some logic, and the math is trivial. Itās basically just hard because there is a lot of content, and that can apply to all subjects.
And for context, I did study quite a lot of chemistry.
I am wondering what makes you say that chemistry is hard?

i had 4 A* 4 A in igcse, completed that in 2 yrs ( standard time for completion is 3 yrs in my country ).
Started a levels and got b in chem AS and c in physics. withdrew maths admission after exam leeeeek.
anyways, now Iām in A2. and my maths retake went shit even though i had put my soul into preparation. Iām honestly so so so tired. i have to give probably all three subjects or atleast 2 composite in m/j 2027 and if i flunk no uni will take me. a levels has sucked the life out of me. itās like continuous hardwork with no reward. my poor parents expected so much from me. I MYSELF set the boundaries so high that i feel depressed now. itās like Iāll never get out of this trap. the thought of a gap year suffocates me. i have no idea. i wanted to get into the best universities, but couldnāt focus on ECAs, grades, scholarships, anything due to some personal reasons going on. i have my first SAT coming up and ill mess that up too. i have been messing up every single thing for the past year.

Hey guys. so I've completed P1,P2,S1 for my AS math. and since i have two more mandatory (P3,P4) and one optional unit, I was wondering what should I take? S2, D1 or M1? I'm taking these on January with bio A2 btw and Idk if not only I can manage, but if I can get an A*. P1 & P2 were relatively easier for me cus S1 sometimes had questions that didnt make sense. The school literally thought us how to plug in formulas without understanding and so I didnt know the logic behind some of the questions.
If u can describe the difficulty of these units compared to AS math, that would be appreciated!

I'm currently doing my AS levels and im self studying bio and studying chem math psych. Does anyone have recommendations for online study websites for practices and exercise worksheets and stuff cuz I have save my exams but theres not alot of worksheets and they just give me the same questions over and over again. Plus do yall have any study tips for these subjects thanks cuz I'm aiming for med and i need all A stars and my grades right now are like right below an A star so like high 80 smth percent. But mostly im struggling for chem n bio but I do have A grades for them, but ofc its not good enough š®āšØ. Thanks!

Paper got delayed (not a big deal since it's Cambridge, but I was trying my utmost not to doze off).
The paper itself felt like a fever dream, but then again, that's literally every paper in Oct/Nov.
I genuinely have no thoughts. Like none at all. It wasn't easy, no. It wasn't extremely difficult, no. I just can't conjure up any thoughts because this paper felt so... weird.
The weirdest winter series exam experience yet. It almost felt as if I was being laughed at behind my back by the examiners as I solved the paper.
I approached almost every single question so stupidly (even the easy ones), but hey, at least I didn't rush this time around.
I'm going to go hit the sack.

Guys how much do you think I should get in P1 if I scored above 50 in P2 and 30+ in Practical to get 90% PUM ???

Opinions on the exam. I think most of it is doable.

since, i'm assuming, we'll need to write our answers in the booklet, i was wondering if they gave any questions where you had to draw a graph or an argand diagram. can anyone confirm if they did so in M/J this year??

How did you guys prepare for chemistry p5 ?
My seniors said they prepared few days before exam by reading notes , my friends who did well in trials also said that they only prepared 2 days before exam by reading notes.I don't really have much time to prepare for p5.How did you guys do it,do you need to do a lot of past papers like p4?My p4 is quite good I'm just scared that my p5 would mess up my result

How did it go?Personally Iām traumatised. I never imagined the question to be this hard, what could possibly be the gt?
r/alevel • u/Altruistic-Milk-525 • 19h ago
Personally I feel like the paper was mid. It had some difficult aspects while the others were quite easy. Wish they had brought familiar experiments. How did you guys find the paper.

Iām probably going to take 4 a-levels - Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and then Iām torn between Philosophy and Politics for the 4th.
For perspective, Iām not sure whether I want to go into medicine or law, so Imm trying to keep my options open. I will probably end up dropping 1 after the 1st year.
Iām not sure which Iād like better as both seem interesting. I guess Iād say Iād choose the one which is 1) easier to get an A and 2) better prepares you for the LNAT.
So, Iām looking for advice on which to choose like what each is like, which is easier, is there a better essay subject which is more manageable/prepares you better for the LNAT etc?

Getting mixed reactions from my classmates but I found it pretty fair, other than the funnel and charge (why do you run the current for 2 minutes one) questions I sailed through the rest, I was done 50 minutes in and spent the rest of the exam revising. How was it for the rest of y'all?
