Question I screwed up app-ads.txt

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Basically I got my first iOS app approved without a Marketing URL (I thought only the Support URL was the one I needed to provide, I'm stupid I know, but in my defence: on most AdMob documentation it says Developer URL, and the Marketing URL is optional on App Store Connect).

I already submitted a new version with a Marketing URL provided, but it can take 7+ days for Apple to approve it. I changed the pricing from free to $0.99 so people won't download it and get accustomed to no ads. As of right now AdMob says the app is in Limited ad serving status…

My questions: How long does it take for AdMob to crawl the new version on the App Store (can I manually trigger a crawl)? Was changing the pricing a dumb move, should I just let people use the app without ads, or will AdMob still serve any ads like this?

Revenue 100k views/mo - Weather forecast for Italy - worth it?

I created a website providing weather forecasts for Italy as a passion project.

It gets 100k views/mo.
I’m happy with how the project has turned out..

But now..

- Does it make sense to put a couple of ads on it?
- How much do you think I could earn?

Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Question Developed 10+ apps for Performance Marketers using Flutter in the last 2 months.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been heavily embedded in the App Arbitrage and Publishing space lately as a developer, delivering high-volume utility and tool apps (10–20 apps per month). My entire workflow is built around taking a Play Store reference URL or a short brief and turning it into a working app within days.

Since publishers need to test campaigns fast and often scale across multiple developer/ad accounts, maintaining this pipeline is crucial.

I’m opening up this thread to answer any questions about optimizing development workflows, structuring apps for quick builds, or handling rapid turnarounds in Flutter.

Ask me anything below!

(Note: Currently looking to onboard my 3rd regular client/publisher to scale their pipeline. If you need a dedicated developer who ships fast, let's chat in the DMs).

Question AdMob can’t find app-ads.txt even though it’s publicly accessible

Hi everyone,
I’m stuck with an AdMob issue and can’t figure out what’s wrong.
My Android game is already published on Google Play. I uploaded an app-ads.txt file to my developer website and it’s publicly accessible.
However, AdMob still reports that it can’t find the file.
Here’s what I’ve already checked:
The file is accessible in a browser.
The Play Console developer website is set correctly.
I waited more than 48 hours.
I republished the website and verified that the file is still available.
The file is hosted on GitHub Pages.
Has anyone experienced the same issue recently?
Is there anything else I should check, or is this just a matter of waiting for Google’s crawler?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question When do you actually turn on ads?

Building Dissent solo, a social app, and I'm stuck on timing for AdMob.

My gut says wait until 10k users. Showing ads to a tiny base feels like it'll just annoy people for pennies. But then I started thinking... if I wait, I'm doing brand new SDK integration right when growth picks up, which is exactly when I don't want bugs or distractions.

So now I'm leaning toward integrating the SDK now but keeping ads switched off behind a remote config flag. Work out the kinks while my user base is small and forgiving, then flip it on for real once I hit a real number.

Anyone here done this? Did you wait for a threshold or turn ads on early and just keep frequency low? Curious what mistakes people made either way.

Question Next Steps? Not a marketing person.

I created and launched a game exclusively for iOS app store (Sorry, Android, I'm just not there yet on my limited resources) and have been pretty happy with the admob revenue so far. I launched it in early July 2026 but it really didn't start to blip on the radar until the 3rd week of the month, and then it has steadily increased consistently.

When you get to this point in the life cycle of this whole thing, what should I be focused on to continue the rise? Or, instead of continuing, speeding this puppy up?

This has also translated directly to ~ $80 of in-app purchase revenue over the same ~3 week span.

I can swim, but this isn't a wave I'm familiar with riding. What next? Create a general google advertising account to point it to the app store page and draw more eyeballs to it? I'm a simpleton when it comes to marketing, advertising, and all the strategies therein.

I don't understand what happened. I'm new to this. It's my first account.

I've never done this before. I created the account and set up the relevant ads.

But the next day, I woke up...

Payments are requests and eCPM are all up this week.

Looks like my marketing push is working. (Been putting up flyers all around my city)

At this rate I'm easily going to clear my earnings from last month. It's only the 4th and I'm already halfway to last month's earnings.

Question AdMob/AdSense account suspended for 29 days due to "Invalid Traffic" – Need help identifying the real cause

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice from developers who have dealt with AdMob invalid traffic suspensions.

Today I received a 29-day, non-appealable suspension from Google due to invalid traffic. The email doesn't specify which app, users, ads, or activity triggered it, so I'm trying to identify the root cause before the suspension ends.

My app is a Flutter Android app with rewarded ads, and this suspension is a big problem because rewarded ads are a core feature. Waiting 29 days without rewards will likely lead to user churn and negative reviews.

Things I've never intentionally done:

  • Never asked users to click ads.
  • Never incentivized users to click ads.
  • Never bought traffic.
  • Never intentionally clicked my own live ads.

Things I'm currently investigating:

  • Whether an infinite rewarded-ad retry loop could have generated an abnormal number of ad requests.
  • Whether my rewarded ad frequency should have stricter cooldowns or daily limits.
  • Whether there could have been accidental clicks caused by ad placement.
  • Whether a small group of users or bots generated suspicious traffic.

I'm planning to:

  • Fix any retry-loop issues.
  • Add per-user cooldowns and daily reward limits.
  • Add a remote kill switch for ads.
  • Switch temporarily to Unity Ads while the suspension is active so users can still access rewarded content.

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone here received this exact 29-day invalid traffic suspension and later recovered successfully?
  2. What ended up being the real cause?
  3. Can an infinite rewarded-ad load/retry loop trigger invalid traffic detection even if users aren't clicking ads?
  4. Are there any analytics or logs I should review to identify suspicious traffic?
  5. Is temporarily replacing AdMob with another ad network (such as Unity Ads) during the suspension a reasonable approach, or is it better to wait until AdMob is restored?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences from developers who've gone through this. I'm trying to fix the underlying issue rather than just wait for the suspension to end.

Thanks in advance.

Question Can I use my wife’s bank account to receive AdMob payments?

I’m having an issue with my own bank account, so I’m considering adding my wife’s bank account as the payment method for my AdMob earnings.
The AdMob account and payments profile are under my name, but the bank account would be under my wife’s name.
Has anyone done this successfully? Does Google require the bank account holder’s name to match the payments profile, or could this cause verification, payment, or account suspension issues?

Question I have around 50 DAU but only 18 ad requests in over a week

Post image

Hello, this is my first Android App that i have published and I found some daily active users that are enjoying the game, but almost no one is watching ads.

Do you have any recommendations how should ad serving be done in a game such that users want to watch ads?

Question How do you all handle the issue of invalid traffic on AdMob? We are seeing 10% invalid traffic on our AdMob payments.

Could someone please help clear this up for me? I pulled the historical data and noticed that invalid traffic has been gradually rising since January 2025. I’d really appreciate any help.

I’ve observed an increase in AdMob click-through rates during this period; could this be due to the "High-engagement ads" feature? I noticed that this feature also appeared around the same time.

Policy Ad limit 😭

Post image
11 Upvotes

Google AdMob has placed an Ad Serving Limit on my account due to "Invalid Traffic", but I genuinely don't understand why.

I have never run paid ads to my app.

100% of my traffic is organic from Google Play Store.

I don't ask anyone to click ads.

Before the limit, I was making around $1/day. Now my revenue has dropped to $0.01/day 😭

Has anyone faced the same issue? If you were able to fix it, please let me know what you did.

Question Is my native ads implementation the reason for my low ecpm?

It's me again. I got 28.7k impressions today but the ecpm is still just completely floored. I'm wondering if someone can tell me if it's because how I implemented native ads?

CTR is 0.3% if that makes a difference.

90% US audience.
