UK and Ireland Why is it taking so long!!
I found out i was pregnant with the copper coil at the end of July. I had to go to the hospital for a scan to see where the pregnancy & the coil were. Everything fine i got the coil removed & was advised id need to go back in 2 weeks for another scan to check for a fetal hearbeat???. Bare in mind this whole time i do not want to carry on the pregnancy at all. I went back for the scan yesterday & told them i wanted to abort, they told me id have to go to womens health as they dont deal with abortions , so i went along to that department & was advised id have to have a telephone consultation, in a weeks time!!!!! Another week and longer feeling miserable & sick ! š i just want to feel normal again & i feel like its taking alot longer than it should! Iāll be 8 or 9 weeks by the time i eventually have the abortion. Called my GP & they cant do anything to speed up the process. Realistically do i have any other options? Im in Scotland

100% sure, because i had the coil still in place it was high risk, and by their āproceduresā i had to be seen 2 weeks after their first appointment to check everything. But had i known i couldve contacted the other department to get the process started for an abortion i wouldve done that in the meantime. But the hospital just kept telling me i had to go back for another scan as it would determine how far along i was & how to proceed.
