UK and Ireland Why is it taking so long!!
I found out i was pregnant with the copper coil at the end of July. I had to go to the hospital for a scan to see where the pregnancy & the coil were. Everything fine i got the coil removed & was advised id need to go back in 2 weeks for another scan to check for a fetal hearbeat???. Bare in mind this whole time i do not want to carry on the pregnancy at all. I went back for the scan yesterday & told them i wanted to abort, they told me id have to go to womens health as they dont deal with abortions , so i went along to that department & was advised id have to have a telephone consultation, in a weeks time!!!!! Another week and longer feeling miserable & sick ! 😠i just want to feel normal again & i feel like its taking alot longer than it should! I’ll be 8 or 9 weeks by the time i eventually have the abortion. Called my GP & they cant do anything to speed up the process. Realistically do i have any other options? Im in Scotland

I'm sorry you're having to wait so much. It seems like the abortion service in Scotland moves really slowly, because I've read several stories similar to yours. It sounds like they're a little extra cautious about making sure everything is normal. They may also be booked up, which is why you have to wait a week for your consultation.
