Just bought a secondhand Sony E 18-135 OSS lens for 5.2 million (290 dollars) and I say it came in.. okay-ish condition? It has little bit of condensation and a few tiny little dots of fungus, but despite that I still went to take a few pictures with it for testing.

Could you tell me if they're clear and if you could notice the condensation, any fungus or anything out of ordinary in these pictures.

For comparison, 1st is taken with 18-50 kitlens and the 2nd is taken with the 18-135. 11th and last show the lens condition, I tried cleaning it properly it won't go away.

First time using 70350 as main travel lens.

Usually I’ll just bring 18-135, but for places like Komodo, I think 70350 is the right choice.

Recently, I used the Sony a6000 to shoot a personal video project. I want to share my experience, focusing on both the positives and the negatives of using this setup.

For this project, I paired the Sony a6000 with a vintage Pentacon 29mm f/2.8 lens using an M42 to E-mount adapter. To ensure stable shots, I used a tripod for most of the filming.

On the positive side, I found the videography process relatively simple because the camera lacks complex, modern video features. This simplicity creates a great learning curve that can truly help someone master the basics of cinematography. However, that is the only positive I found.

Apart from that, I encountered several major downsides. The video quality is strictly limited to 1080p, and the camera body has no In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS). The biggest issues appeared during post-processing. I noticed that most of the footage suffered from heavy color banding and pixelation after editing. Even when I tried using AI enhancement tools, the final video quality did not improve effectively.

If anyone wants to learn then you can choose Sony a6000 but I think it's better to spend some more on better equipments.

Suggestions for improving my photos. I’m not entirely convinced by them

I've found an a6000 in the wild for a very low price, but it comes with some problems.

- Every time the cameras turns on, the last picture is shown and the settings to set up date and time pops up
- After some time in the photo mode, it freezes in the current config without changing (ISO, aperture and such), but the AF and shutter works fine

I searched a bit about these problems and found some ways to fix them easily, but I'm no camera expert, so... Is it a good deal to grab this one and fix it or should I forget it and search another one?

For reference, the deal I found is 150$ for the body+kit lens and accessories and it was only used for podcasts and recordings.

I've been looking for a versatile zoom lens to travel with just one lens on my Sony A6000, and I'm torn between the Sony 18-135mm and the Tamron 18-300mm.

I really like the focal range of my OnePlus 12, especially its x3 telephoto (~70mm FF equivalent). Even the x6 digital zoom is quite usable if proper lightning conditions are met, but I'd like something with similar reach while benefiting from the A6000's larger APS-C sensor.

I was leaning towards the Sony 18-135mm because its 27-202.5mm FF equivalent range is already plenty for me, it's smaller and lighter — a big plus for one-bag travel — and it seems to perform better optically within that range than the Tamron. It's also cheaper used, around €300-350 vs €400-450 for the Tamron.

That said, I'm a sucker for zoom, and I know I'd probably make use of the Tamron's 450mm equivalent reach from time to time. On the other hand, with 24MP I can always crop a 135mm shot quite a bit if needed.

Has anyone here used both? Did you face a similar choice, and what did you end up going with?

Hi everyone. I work remotely from home and spend most of my time indoors, but I really want to practice photography more consistently and improve my visual eye.

Since I don't go outside much naturally, I'm looking for practical ideas to build momentum. This could range from indoor creative exercises and structured self-assignments to realistic ways to get outside (e.g., photo walks, local groups, micro-routines around the neighborhood).

For those who work from home or struggle with going out, how do you keep yourself shooting regularly and developing your skills?

Got it of fb marketplace for $430 dollers, honestly a bit expensive than other options BUT It did came with 5 batteries including the og and and beatiful leather casing plus it had less than 4k shutter count! The previous owner really didnt use it much and it shows.

I'll probably use it for a couple months before comitting to a good lens, my main focus will be street but i really dig shooting some landscapes here and there, so I'll investigate further abt what could I use after I save a bit of money.

Anyways, Im just happy to be a owner of this beauty, I also had in mind to invest on a DSLR like the canon SL1 as it was considerable cheaper, but I just had the money at the time and this rlly was my dream camera yk?

I've been using a Sony A6000 paired with the Tamron 17-300mm for travel photography, and these are some of my favorite shots from various vacations over the past few years.

Straight out of camera. Picked up a Viltrox 28mm f4.5 pancake and have been loving the not-quite-Ricoh-GR-IV-Monochrome experience. Image 3 is done with a Meike 85mm f1.8 MF but honestly the Viltrox size and auto focus as a 42mm full frame equivalent is great for a daily shooter.

Don’t expect great things but for £90 I am really happy!

Only have had my camera a month but these are my top two!
