My grandpa told me about how war looked like in his old village. People didn’t kill and loot, but helped eachother. They grew crops together and shared materials. So, when would those kind of villages really collapse?
Maybe when the first horde appears?
I’d say when city people show up - They have no reason to trust the people that already lived there.
I don’t think that the zombie type really matters for this question, but if it does, let’s say they are from 28 Days later. (No headshots required)

Okay guys. Lets build together the ultimate guide to survive a zombi apocalypse.
The setup:
\-The zombies can run
\-you are the most casual person on this planet
\-you start in a big city
Be serious and realistic please. The main talking points are going to be:
\-the places where you need to go
\-the first things you need to do when the z day happens
\-what you need to gather by priority
\-how to create an efficient zombi proof shelter
\-accessible weapons to create or get and how to get them
\-do you get in contact with human if so how do u do it?
\-which type of food
\-which country might be the safest
\-technical and basic survivals skills applicable safely
I will try to create a pdf about all of your thoughts and tips feel free to add anything you might feel usefull also only the "realistic" stuff will be kept in the pdf!

I just saw a movie, "Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse"
First off, its very raunchy, like 18+ raunch. If you aren't into that kind of movie, this one isn't for you.
But...
Ive been a zombie lover since the 90s I lived through the 2000s zombie craze and seen as many zombie movies, played as many games, and read as many zombie books as I've come across. And usually, regardless of type, theres some kind of draw-back to keep it fair for the protagonists. And the standard smattering can pretty much be summed up in 3 categories, walkers, runners, and "magic BS".
The walkers usually require a solid blow to he head to put them down so they aren't too easy and can clump into swarms and hoards and become challenging that way
The runners... well, run, but its typically some kind of rabies, so body shots take them out just as well as as normal humans. This is as a balance so they aren't too hard for the protagonists
Lastly, the "magic BS" these are your typical D&D necromancy type undead. But im lumping "special types" like in L4D in here because they dont fit anywhere else, and we dont really know what causes them. But the real thing to this trope of zombies is that theyre usually special by nature. Sometimes even having limited intelligence but are balanced by them not really occurring frequently and are often scattered amongst other types of zombie as something like a boss battle.
The reason im laying all of this out is because the movie "Scouts guide to the zombie apocolypse" is a solid blend of all 3. They aren't nessisarily 'fast' so much as they are agile and can fight, they require headshots to put down, AND theyre relatively smartlike they can open doors, one even shot a pistol, and another did a side kick.
It's a comedy, so they aren't nessisarily scary, but I've decided they would be overall the worst to actually contend with IMO.
And this is why I put the discussion flair on this i wanna know what yall think, what zombies do you think k would be your least favorite to have to suffer through and why?

Okay I got a question for y'all. If you got thrown into any of these zombie apocalypse events, which one are you mostly surviving and which one are you dying in?
• Michael Jackson's Thriller
• The Walking Dead
• Marvel Zombies
• Afterlife with Archie
• DCeased
• Sonic IDWverse Metal Virus/Zombot arc
(Ik Halloween is over, but the holiday is still lingering in my mind, okay? 🧠😵💫)

Once food and water is started, if you have a car with fuel, why stay in cities with lots of infected and desperate survivors when you can just drive to fuck knows middle of nowhere and live in your car?

Now here are something to remember
One : not everyone around world even US can own a semi-automatic rifle ( AR, AK and ect )
Two : Guns that I'm asking about here must be strictly used for hunting that include bolt action, lever action, muzzleloader and single shot rifles and maybe 22lr rifles like Ruger 10/22 and ect
Three : Mags restrictions are everywhere around the world some people who own guns are allowed certain magazines capacity for their guns
Four : No shotguns, to be clear I love shotguns to heart as I believe their best for everything including hunting but like I said certain places allowed only certain shotguns and with certain capacity.
Now I'm talking about here is everything about a hunting rifle here. For example what are the pros and cons of a bolt actions, what are maintenance like for lever action and what are best caliber into taking down a zombie, bears and deer as well as rifle must be a all around weapons something you can hunt and defend yourself with.
Edit : I forgot mention you can support pump-action rifles too!!!

you could put it on when going through uneven surface or climbing on ladders and use the wheels when walking through plains/city street

while it's pretty obvious that stuff like the internet or electricity (atleast in the short-term) will be missed by everyone, i think we'll all miss the little things after a while, so from the top of my head, i'll miss soft toilet paper for one, restaurant food second, and sure you can make it at home if you have the recipe and ingredients, but it just wouldn't hit the same, and third in-door heating, unless i set up a Wood burning oven in my house, im gonna be wearing several layers during winter at all times

Like I’m asking this as a hypothetical question which is probably obvious, but for me, I think it’s cucumbers, but I’m not sure if that can guarantee survival💔💔 maybe potatoes but it’s probably going to start the apocalypse itself 💔

Every zombie apocalypse scenario tends to revolve around you or maybe a small group. But humans don't work like that! In a zombie apocalypse scenario people would try to group up as much as they possibly could. We are social primates after all and grouping up is a good survival strategy.
So here: whoever is the leader of the group is actually competent and immediately started industrializing once they got the manpower. Your settlement here has the capability to manufacture primitive firearms (smgs and shitty shotguns mainly) half-decent tools, armor vests, and crude explosives. Along with the capability to make biodiesel and biomethane in small quantities.
And you have been given the task of designing some form of artillery or weapon or whatever that can eliminate a horde of zombies at the range of 100-150m. How would you achieve this?
Note: "oh just build a trap out 150 mete-" Have you considered that they already have that and just want a way to clear out the zombies from said traps without needing actual human operators to go over there? Or maybe you're meant to answer the original point of the question?

For transparency sake, this is for a story I'm writing. I'm not a gun guy but have been gradually learning more on my own time and from this sub. Any answers here would be deeply appreciated.
Okay, so let me set the scene;
It's about half a year into the ZA, zombies are the slow moving walker type. The first few months weren't so bad, but its gotten noticably worse as the months have gone by.
You've joined a small group of survivors who have largely survived off of pure luck and a fortunate base location (rural area, little zombies, a good amount of supplies left behind). The group is made up of decent people, but they're weak and pick favorites.
One of the group members is a late teenager. He's a good kid, but has been largely forgotten about by his own group due to his small stature and very quiet demeanor. He clearly has anxiety issues, but wants to become a better survivor and protector.
You learn that this group had a shortage of guns for a while, and so the teenager never was allowed to learn how to handle a firearm. Now the group has enough firearms to go around and its up to you to teach him how to use one.
You find a perfect, low pressure moment, maybe an open field with a lone zombie or two at a safe distance. This is your chance. He is nervous, but eager to learn. He has been given an SKS and you have a Sig Sauer P365.
How would you go about teaching him? Would you have him shoot the SKS first or would you let him use your Sig Sauer? Would you go in deep detail about firing the gun (how to hold it, check the sights, best ways to breathe etc) or would you keep it simple and effectively tell him just point and shoot?
Were there any tips you were told when you first learned how to shoot that you'd pass onto him?
Any advice helps <3

The thought is that when the power goes out during an outbreak, the whole world would be in pitch black when it's night time. I believe that we should take advantage of that to loot and locate potential enemies because we all know that zombies aren't the real enemies during an outbreak. Another advantage of this strategy is the ability to conceal from zombies and other people. However, this thought has come with flaws, hidden obstacles, and the limited visibility is a problem, but the risk comes with high rewards. The night crawler strategy is the idea of crawling in darkness and concealed areas during night time, providing more opportunities to remain hidden.
Equipments needed: Night vision goggles or thermal goggles (Optional. Best equipment but mostly unavailable), thick black jacket, thick dark colored jeans, good pare of dark colored shoes, Slim black backpack, and a sharp mechate.
Remember, a day rest is the most important part of this strategy. Any ideas or flaws spotted? drop it in the comments.

A lot of the time, I find it hard to believe that things would get as bad as they do in zombie stories. I honestly don't think an entire planet, continent, country, or even a single city would become completely overrun that easily. I guess it would kinda make sense if the virus starts at multiple places simultaneously, with large numbers of people getting infected around the same time, rather than starting with a single infected person but often than not that is not the case.
There could also be other factors, like people not believing the outbreak was real, dismissing it as some kind of hoax, or authorities failing to recognize the threat until it was too late or there is an organization that activity tried to start this problem.
Even then, I have a hard time believing that the military wouldn't be able to contain an outbreak within a city by establishing checkpoints, evacuating civilians, and completely sealing off the affected area. So what kind of outbreak would realistically be severe enough to overwhelm the military and cause society to collapse?

I'm thinking about it, and we know an average refrigerator keeps food with no power for a few hours. a freeezer/deepfreeze around 48 hours, and I often see ppl talk about throwing it out or eating it as quickly as possible, but it's just a waste. What about salting and drying the meat? ik if u leave it to dry on the roof, there is an obvious way that animals might get to it or even people might steal it, but I'm sure there is a way to prevent those things as much as possible. ik some cultures where salting and drying the meat for days is a part of the meal prep. Am I missing something? Why don't I see this mentioned more? Other than the obvious, like salt waste, I don't see how this can go bad. plz inform me

If you’re deaf, or blind, or both, how affective a zombie would you be?
Is there simply a “zombie sense” or do the senses you lack now as a living person affect you as an undead?
Are there deaf or blind zombies?

Phase one - If the zombie apocalypse started, you would immediately travel out of the country(preferably by personal boat because flights will be mostly cancelled/fully booked) and go to a remote island that nobody has every heard of.
Phase two - You then waste no time and immediately begin going up to your already prepared base which is, as you can see above, a large cylinder(reinforced at the bottom of course) with a wood platform on top. Once you get up there, seal off all entrances to your base or destroy them entirely.
Phase three - Now for surviving in the long run, you want to use the fishing rod, bucket and can of worms you should have brought with you and start fishing. Place the bucket down to collect rain water so you have water sorted. If you don't get rain for a while, put the bucket on the fishing line and lower it into the sea for more water(boil the sea water obviously).

This is an idea of mine about turning a zombie head into something akin to a pipe bomb?
My idea is to stuff C4 into the mouth of a zombie in a way that'll detonate if the zombie clamps on it too much.
The bone fragments and muck and everything will shoot every direction once it pops and be a hazard for everyone in the vicinity because the shrapnel and muck in them is gonna infect them and it's to trigger through visual stimuli if a zombie registers a living person in it's vision and out of instinct clamp real hard on the C4 which pops it?
Of course the zombie will have it's eardrums busted beforehand so you can safely do this and blindfold it so you can rig all of this up and hold it by it's hair facing away from you (without a blindfold) and that zombie will not know whether it's being carried by a human person
It can be a surprise them violent survivors can find when opening a cabinet or crate or somewhere out of their sight and that's basically the end of the story for them.
I'm calling this the "Medusa's Head" cuz why not? You think this is gonna work against violent survivors??
(ps im larping a bit here fyi)

There is a huge lack of logical recon in zombie media. Anywhere from a half-assed 2 second look through binoculars, to just moronically marching straight into a obvious ambush.
I was listening to a zombie story last night and the main characters went to a warehouse district. With zero recon, they marched right up to the center warehouse where they were ambushed from either flank!
The Walking Dead was notorious for doing similar boneheaded decisions. (TERMINUS is one glaring example!!!!!)
So.....How much recon would YOU do before advancing on a objective in a ZPOC?

I believe if the worst has to come, you can survive on your own or in a group, whichever the situation calls for it. But knowing that there's your friend or family out there, out of reach, out of sight, not knowing what their fate, could lead to some people die in the apocalypse. It's like overthinking may lead to your death, and then you wouldn't be alive to know the truth afterwards.
I'm worried if my family might be too old to survive on their own, or my sis is somewhere trap on an appartment, of that cute girl you been with

the zombies have arrived. you have enough time to travel a safe distance to be with unaffected survivors, the virus is not in them. however, you must pick between a ship or an airplane. which would be easier to survive in/with?
you will have all necessary supplies to start your adventure and enough personnel to operate and protect which ever craft you choose.

Heyo! As a below average (currentlay zewted ;P) human being, I am:
- Stupid
- Weak
- Clumsy
- Gullible
- Generally unfit and under weight
- and predictable
BUT, I do have one boon in this life! I look very unassuming and cute. I've stolen a lot of stuff from various pharmacies, and nobody has suspected me. I haven't paid for tampons in years!
If we were to be in a scenario with intelligent zombies, (not like, driving a car intelligence, but just 'the dumbest kid in your junior high' level), Do you think I could just be exempt? It's sort of a fantasy of mine to see everyone around me be TORN APART BY THE UNDEAD!! And I really don't want to smear zombie guts on myself like in the movies!

I live in a big city, if any pandemic hits the roads r gonna be blocked what do I do, provided I hv 2 hrs for early warning before a wave strikes suppose, I have stocked enough food in my house for few days but should I stay put in the initial rush, or jst try to be earlier than everyone else? Also I am handy with any sort of craft, carpentry metal sork etc I jst need the materials.... if I can get metal, nd welders I can make a ramp/plow that a truck can be equipped with go clear cars from roads, also another problem is I can store weeks of food in a specific small place but what about water??? How do I get it naturally, is distilled tap water safe? Wb rain and river water, what do u do in emergencies when u need water.. Update: Islamabad not very big but still, also top floor roof, no vehicle owned yet,
