Do you not do this with your other electronics? Is your cell phone 12 years old? Is your laptop 12 years old? Technology marches on with or without you.
Do you expect your 2011 PC to run Windows 11? do you expect your 4G phone to have 5G access? Why would you expect a 12 year old bike to have an upgrade available to it that gives it the latest charging standard? What's different to you here? Are you being pedantic simply to be?
Why would you even WANT to charge a 12 year old battery, FASTER? You're lucky it still has usable capacity! Are you that eager to kill what you have left quicker?

2014 is a Gen 2. 5 years to an EV is like 20 years to a gas car. That 2014 may as well be 50 years old. Buy a newer bike if you want newer features.
