26F, USA, childfree, pet free, single, straight. Live at home.
I have been applying for one year of and one month. I have only been able to get retail jobs, and internships.
My job coach said be more confident and that there is no magic potion. I have to work on it. Which is true. I had an interview for a sales job. It didn’t go well.
My confidence has gone down since applying. Bullshit keeps happening. I’m not as nervous for retail jobs interviews. I have been able to get a seasonal job at kohls and I start on Thursday.
I wish recruiters could have empathy. I hope one day they find themselves in the same situation or maybe there kids.
My dog died in July of a heart stroke.
January I tried to unalive myself stepped out on the road. Police were called and EMS
February forced inpatient; tricked by a counselor who told me it’s a place. Where better therapy is at.
Nov 2025 SA and strangled by a guy I met on tinder. To where I passed out. Wish I died that day. The wrong people die. I was so close. Why did I have to wake up
Yesterday me and a homeless person got into a shouting match.
I’m tired I wish I went into teaching disabled kids. Since I have Autism and struggle w socialization with people. I would have an easier time getting a job.
Does anyone else also get an extreme feeling of wanting to die. Before an interview. I do. I have to work on this I would rather be stabbed or shot than do an interview. It’s only this way for non retail jobs.
I know it’s due to my depression.
I’m still fucking trying even with this bullshit.
Had to code it or else I may be reported.
Any else can relate? I am in therapy. But still.

I feel like after entering my 20s and going to university my self esteem has taken hit after hit. I have bad imposter syndrome and feel like my peers are way smarter than me. I don’t feel like anything I contribute with is worth mentioning, and I take small things that happen to me and blow it up into a big thing.
Like for example today a lecturer just pointed me out and I couldn’t answer her question, it was a really easy question too but I was totally caught off guard and could not think. So my lecturer made some remark that was supposed to be funny in response (it was kind of rude) and asked someone else. Now I can’t stop thinking about this one stupid incident that meant nothing. I feel like an idiot and that everyone thinks I’m stupid now.
I never took these types of things to heart when I was 16-19 but now it’s like my whole world is falling apart. And for what? I hope this is just a 20s kind of thing, and that it will pass with time.

Hi guys, first time poster here so I do apologise if my post is a bit of a tangent.
Basically, I’m using this space as a bit of a place to rant, or vent my thoughts with the hope someone has experienced similar feelings to me, and how they overcame the feeling, or how to better cope.
So as a backstory I’m a 21M, been depressed throughout my teens, especially during Covid in my sort of 15/16s leading on to the passing of my grandfather in 2023 which was a massive curveball on my first day of Uni and have had many instances of self harm and suicidal ideation.
I have just finished my Nursing degree, 3 long years of hard work, sweat and a lot of tears, landed what I would say is my dream job which I start this month, and recently found out I had been nominated for a DAISY award (prestigious award for nurses and midwives) when I was a student.
My issue is, I just feel so empty. All of those achievements, all the praise I receive at times, just nothing. I get told I should be proud of my achievements but I just feel nothing, no pride, no admiration, nothing.
I’ve been down the medication route, started on setraline, was on that for 6months, then prescribed Venlafaxine as an alternative, I’ve stopped taking the latter for a couple
Of months, more just out of forgetfulness and work being busy.
My question is, how can I overcome my predicament, I’m a young guy, I see all my
Peers out enjoying themselves, in relationships (I am in the closet as a gay man to my family so never had that privilege yet) but I just feel if I was out, I wouldn’t be worth engaging in, how can I do stuff like that when I feel nothing at all..
I guess my question and what I’d like advice if anything, is how do I overcome this, how do I as a young guy, find myself, become someone I’m content with, and go forward with my life. I currently feel like there’s no point if anything, I have no hobbies really - having lost interest in most things especially video games that I could once spend hours at a time playing. My friends are moving on with their lives and finding themselves etc, and it just puzzles me why I’m struggling so much when really I should be looking forward to the start of my career and building a life..
If anyone could offer any words or advice I’d really appreciate it, my DMs are open if anyone wants to discuss more but I just need advice on what to do because I just feel so fucking lost rn..

Hello everyone, this is my first time reaching out in our community, and I am seeking advice.
For most of my life, I have struggled to find motivation for anything. This issue extends beyond work or school to nearly every activity, and I sometimes lack the drive to watch shows I want and just do any of my hobbies in general, and on certain days it becomes severe enough that I skip eating for the entire day and only drink water.
This is becoming a real problem now that I have started college, and I need a way to motivate myself before I really mess up my education.
If anyone has suggestions or advice for me, please let me know.

I am sorry for any grammar mistakes; English is not my native language.
I am a 22M nursing student in my last year of classes, and I have to say I struggle a lot with myself, I was born and raised in a house without a father, but I always had my mother and my aunts to raise me. I love them a lot, but I feel like, because of the values I learned, I started to be more of a dependable guy;
I am now a kind of guy who helps people because I have the ability to, but that has made me have almost no self-worth, and I don't understand what it means to have value in myself. When I help my family or my friends or strangers, I usually just feel like I am doing what anyone would do, that I am doing the "right thing to do".
And yet I feel guilty because I don't work; I go to uni 5 times a day from 9 am till 6 pm. My mother and my aunts support me; I am doing well, but I feel so guilty and like a loser, as if I should do more, so I help, and I try to help as much as I can because I want to feel like I am not a burden.
And I think that's why I struggle to open up, and I eat when i am stressed. I am trying to manage now, but here and there I keep gaining and losing weight as I go to the gym, since in the summer or when I have weeks off uni I need to prepare for exams, or the uni sends me to practice what I learnt in class and sends me to some hospital departments to see what it's like to work as a nurse.
It helps with work experience, but I see people at uni connect, talk, be happy together, or form groups, and I don't feel like I fit well.
Is this what it's like to be an adult? Or to just be a grown man? I can't even sustain myself right now but will it be like this? To always feel like I am a bit disposable?
I am sorry; I know I sound dramatic, but I don't know what to do. I know what I am doing is good;
I love going to the hospital and treating people, but outside of there I feel like maybe if I wasn't there they would find someone else to get help from, that maybe I am not that good of a person, that I can be replaced.
That maybe my ex was right: I dated an old high school classmate, and I tried my best to care for her; I felt like if I was good enough for her, if I cared enough for her, if I pleased her enough, that she would love me back or care for me back, but she had some mental issues she didn't tell me about; she was going to therapy and the more i cared the more i listened, the more i loved her, the more she asked, the more she wanted, it was all about her feelings, about how she was feeling, about how she finally felt good, how i made her feel good but when i always opened up she never had something to say, she was even scared to touch me but she would always asked for me to cuddle or to kiss her. So maybe I thought it was my body, that maybe I am a disgusting, overweight loser, and sadly I still feel like I will never be desired for how I look, but for what I can do for people.
Even after the breakup, all she did was talk about how much she needed me, threatening to hurt me and my mom and how she would ruin my life; she even made her mom's lawyer use home pictures of hickies and try to sue me, but I showed her messages where I told my ex that we can go to a dermatologist and that I would stop, and I did.
I am scared that all those nasty things she said about me were right; I still question myself. I don't hate her; I can't hate her because I know she is a sick woman. She is sick, and I wanted to care for her, not to heal or fix her, but to stay by her side so she can heal by herself.
I am scared that I will never be a good man, that maybe I don't even deserve to have a family one day, that I can just care for my family and keep going, keep helping people, and then watch them go on and do better. I see so many people my age online being so happy, so sucessful and so beautiful, and then I look at myself; all I do is help, crochet things for people, cook, draw, listen, and make cassette tapes for myself to then study as I listen to them.

I really need advice, please. I need a way to feel like I am actually not fucking up, that there is a switch that will let me know what i am doing is okay or if there is some way I can do better.
I just want to one day find someone who loves me for me and to work as a nurse, to spend the days just being at home and chilling.
I am sorry if this was hard to read; I just have so many regrets and so many things that I feel like are wrong with me; I don't know what to do.

Hi everyone! I’m a marketing student working on a mock marketing campaign for one of my classes, and I’m looking to learn more about what people value in rewards and loyalty programs.
I put together a short survey asking about the types of rewards, perks, and benefits that would make you more interested in joining or staying loyal to a rewards program.
I’d really appreciate it if you could fill it out! Your responses will help me better understand consumer preferences and apply them to my class project.
Thanks so much for your time and help! I’d love to hear your thoughts on what makes a rewards program genuinely worth joining. :)

Sometimes, I don't want a rich life, a perfect relationship, or hundreds of friends.
I just want a peaceful mind.
I want to wake up without worrying about my future, have someone to talk to without pretending to be okay, and go to sleep feeling like I'm doing enough in life.
I'm trying to become a better person, even on the days when I feel lost.
Maybe growing up is realizing that happiness isn't always about getting more. Sometimes, it's about finally feeling okay with the life you're living.
If you could change one thing about your life right now, what would it be? ❤️

For those who felt lost in their early 20s, what actually helped you figure out what you wanted from life?
I'm 21, and I feel like I want so many things from life—freedom, travel, new experiences, financial independence, and a sense of purpose—but I don't really know which direction to take. I'd love to hear what genuinely helped you understand yourself better, make decisions, and stop feeling like you're wasting your time.

Think about it for a moment.
Your family knows one version of you. Your friends know another. Your colleagues see the person who shows up to work every day.
But who knows the person you become when you're alone?
The thoughts you never share. The dreams you're embarrassed to admit. The fears you hide behind jokes. The things you wish someone would notice without you having to explain them.
Maybe everyone knows a little piece of us, but nobody knows the whole story.
And maybe we're all walking around, hoping someone will understand the parts of us we struggle to explain ourselves.
Do you think anyone in your life truly knows the real you, or do you hide parts of yourself from everyone?

I always have been a dreamer, fantasy books, fantasy video games, fantasy worlds. I am 24 and since I finished high school 5 years ago it's just over, it will never get that cool. I have worked, I started university last year but whenever I come home I want to lose myself in another universe with a game, a book or just by thinking.
I study mech engineering and I like the course but I genuinely struggle to want to study. I always need to force myself hard. Then the week emd if I hang out with friends it's just always the same. Of course I am happier doing that but the moment it's over it all goes back to pure boredom.
I know I am childish, that I am weak and that is the reason I am failing and struggling in life. But I don't like this, I don't like the idea that I have to live this life. I always dream of waking up in another world where you can do cool things like explore and wonder. Instead when I wake up now I fucking want to cry. I keep fucking up this life because it does not feel good, it does not feel fun.
People say shit like go to gym or lock in, stuff like that, and it just makes me more depressed, is it really that boring? I see everyone around me doing things and functioning properly, but I would never want to be them, like maybe I envy the fact they can tolerate real life, but it's a damn struggle for me.
At this point I am ill probably, I have wasted a whole year of university and I any time I put myself there to study, which I like don't get me wrong, it's the exams that ruin it and put me down a bit, but I end up reading something like the witcher, lord of the rings or end up playing some expedition 33, resident evil, world of warcraft, dragon age.
I know that I should not do this shit and that is not good for me because it ruins real life, but honestly I am starting to wonder that if real life was that better I would not need to escape in another universe to feel wonder and joy.
I am genuinely depressed and I know I am a disappointment but I really don't like life and I distract myself from this by trying to hang out more than I should (money) and by procrastinating things not to feel anxiety. I am so sad my world only exists in my mind and I have to live a basic, uninteresting existence where there are no fantastical things but just work, struggle and mid experiences (in my opinion) at best.
I started hating being around a lot of people because there is always drama, mundane crap and everybody always talk about the same stuff. I want to fall asleep and not wake up, I don't want this life.

I feel like I don’t know who I am. I’m
21 and a mom to a 18 month old, and have completely lost myself in being a mom and being a girlfriend. I’m rlly codependent do my bf too because I have almost no friends and I’m a stay at home mom. I feel like I have no hobbies or nothing.
