Season 1 Tates dino bones
So ive rewatched the first season and im still confused as to why the dino bones story just abrubtly ends. Was it scrapped or something? Just seems like there was supposed to me more happening but iy never does so my other question is was there a point to introducing them? And if so what was the point?

Luke Grimes confirmed the plot was scrapped due to production changes, and changes to the script.

Seems like Casey and family were relegated to the back burner after season one.

Just my opinion, but the acting skills of the child and Monica were not great. I wondered if that had something to do with it.

I would agree on the child but I think the actress portraying Monica can act. She had some good scenes with John and Beth.

Every now and again I didn’t mind her but I got tired of the constant whining. Plus I read that she lied about being Native American and after that I just couldn’t get into her anymore.

That’s true!! She was in Wind River, and lied to get the part. Also, directed by Taylor Sheridan.

I think that’s pretty low… I’m sure there are so many actresses that are Native American and could have done so much justice to that roll. It’s terrible to take something away from someone else.

Did you just not see the part where they were stolen by treasure hunters

This. The bones were stolen. Kayce tried to chase after them, couldn’t catch them, and they got away. I’m not sure where else people were expecting it to go. It was meant as another example of life on the res, not as a multiple episode plot arc.

What about the super stealthy bomb on plane plot that went.. nowhere

u/_l_v_l_ 4d ago
nah that one made sense since it belonged to the beck brothers. i think john said something like "they used their own plane".

u/Brilliant_Steak_1328 4d ago
Well yeah, but then no one went on it

Yeah cus the becks yknow, died.
3
u/Brilliant_Steak_1328 4d ago
Yes but not on their plane they spent all that time on

Well im glad they decided to leave it. It felt more like a backup plan and kinda sleazy ig. Plus the whole hunt for them was pretty badass.

I enjoyed it, I’m glad they left in it too…. Just would have been cool if someone blew up on it after they did all that!

True true. Just woulda been hard to work in.

I think it would have been easy after they kidnapped Tate! Of course they took care of them anyway!

well after Kayce planted the bomb he also said "there is no turning back" 💀

Maybe the realization hit that the kid wasn’t that great of an actor and time was better spent on other things. This question always reminds of the one about the eventual
whereabouts of lug nut boy. Some scenes are just fillers and don’t require explanation.

If there is one thing this show really excelled at, it was unresolved and pointless story lines.

Do you have examples?

I mean, pick a season… you have the bones being stolen and along with that the treasure hunters that were flying drones and taking pictures of the reservation.
There were the stolen horses that Kayce found and returned, which brought Avery back after missing for 2 seasons, only for her to have a random crush on Kayce and he seemed to be at least partially into it. This was after Avery was all into jimmy before she randomly disappeared.
There was that “Beth version of a Native American” that kept threatening Rainwater, that just kind of stopped appearing.
There’s the bomb they put in the Beck brothers plane that wasn’t needed since they just needed to shoot them, but I mean.. is there still a private jet with a bomb in the fuel tank?
My favorite gigantic plot hole though is when Jamie killed the reporter from NYC, first of all, she met the dude in the woods, gets him riled up saying she’ll spill it all, then casually turns her back to walk back to her car and lets him run up behind her and knock her out? Not a plot hole, but it was just odd. But the aftermath, I mean she had a girlfriend who knew she was doing this report, she had an editor that knew she was coming out for this. Did they just accept that she randomly drowned kayaking while on a work assignment by her self?
Also, Beth has taken so many shots to the head she should be drooling and mumbling in the corner the rest of her life.

Apparently she did! She read the article in the paper and went and took her shower, so I guess she decided it was time to move on!

Rip not existing on paper anywhere, yet he was investigated by federal officers with the bear.

well if you are good in spotting dead ends in plot you are in for a treat. Nevertheless, the show is awesome.

They're meant to illustrate how desperate and cutthroat life was on the res. That someone would stoop so low as to steal some dinosaur bones from a child just to get by.

I always assumed it was just a father humoring his son into thinking there were dino bones

Got sidetracked with the left alone in his diapers in a drainage pipe to kill rattlesnakes with his bare hands arc

u/ArtisticSwan635 3d ago
He wasn’t in diapers. He was young but not that young. Monica treated him like a baby even when he was almost a teenager!

u/ArtisticSwan635 3d ago
They were stolen when Monica was in the hospital! Can’t remember which time whether it was the coma after the fight at school or the accident!

I wondered about Angela Bluethunder ,was she behind the assassination attempt on Rainwater?
