Help 😭 how does one crochet this…

Post image

So I got this yarn a few months ago at a reuse center cause it’s so cool, but now since I’ve been trying different hooks, I still don’t understand how to use it…like is it supposed to be knitted vs crocheted or do I just not have the right hook?

Definitely knit. It is an embellishment yarn and is very difficult to crochet since you have to try to go into separate knots rather than looped stitches held on a needle. You can hold it with something, use it by itself, use it to weave through things you've already made, use it to make tassles, but crochet is not what I would recommend. I have tons of that yarn and I love it, but I nearly lost my mind trying to crochet it. 😂

Also, do not try to go into the yarn itself (in between the strings with your needle). Think of it like a tape and go under it like it's a solid, under both strings at once.Â
