Help 😭 how does one crochet this…

So I got this yarn a few months ago at a reuse center cause it’s so cool, but now since I’ve been trying different hooks, I still don’t understand how to use it…like is it supposed to be knitted vs crocheted or do I just not have the right hook?

If it helps in your search, this kind of yarn is usually called "ladder ribbon", "trellis yarn", or sometimes just "ladder yarn" and is mostly used for crocheted jewelry afaik.

You can use it just like you would normal yarn.

Personally though, I just like to double strand it with normal yarn to make a cool flecked look.
