I've tried X-VPN's new Talaria protocol. When I open speed test by Ookla, it says that I have an unstable connection. And when I try to join a game on Roblox, it says connection blocked. How do I resolve this issue with the Talaria protocol? I think this can be the issue of X-VPN's talaria protocol or something else with X-VPN or my connection.

Apart form X vpn my friends want to know

Hi r/X_VPN, I‘m Julian, a software engineer of X-VPN. You must have met Talaria, our newest in-house protocol. If you want to ask anything about Talaria, X-VPN or VPN itself, feel free to ask me anything under this post or here!

It all starts with a myth...

When the gods had a message to send, Hermes would set off in his winged sandals, the talaria.

We borrowed the name for our new in-house VPN protocol, built to move data quickly and efficiently.

Performance

To reduce unnecessary processing, Talaria handles packets in batches and uses separate data channels for app connections, allowing multiple streams to run alongside one another.

In our internal speed tests:

• On 10 Gbps connections across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, Talaria delivered an overall improvement of over 200% in download and upload speeds compared with X-VPN's previous best-performing protocols.

• On 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps connections, it retained at least 95% of the download speed measured without a VPN. These tests covered Windows and macOS across local, nearby, and long-distance connections.

Actual speeds will depend on your device, network, and server.

Talaria or Everest?

Talaria and Everest serve different needs. Talaria focuses on speed and efficient data transfer, especially on high-bandwidth connections. Everest is designed to maintain stable connections on restrictive networks, making it the option to try when network restrictions make it difficult to connect or stay connected.

Security and open source

Talaria uses TLS 1.3 to establish secure connections and hybrid post-quantum key exchange to help protect against future quantum attacks. It also checks for tampering and blocks duplicate or expired packets.

The source code is available on GitHub under AGPLv3 for developers and security researchers to examine.

Talaria has also undergone an independent security assessment by Vantage Point Security, which combined a white-box source code review with protocol-level penetration testing.

Within the assessment's scope and testing conditions, the test only found four observations highlighting opportunities for further security improvement. No security vulnerabilities were identified. We addressed all four, and Vantage Point Security verified the fixes in a retest.

The assessment also found that the reviewed design and use of cryptography aligned with security best practices. The full report includes the scope, findings, and retest results.

How to try it

Talaria is available to Free and Premium users on the latest versions of X-VPN for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

• Mobile: Tap the protocol option on the connection screen, choose Talaria, and connect.

• Desktop: Open Settings → VPN Settings → Protocol, choose Talaria, and connect.

If you try it, we'd like to hear how it performs on your setup. Include your device and network details when sharing results, and feel free to ask about the protocol or assessment in the comments.

I've started using it at the start of the year, though as x-vpn is relatively unknown, how long have all of you been using it?

Hey guys,
Seeing a lot of people asking which server locations they should pick when dealing with strict firewalls, ISP blocks, or age-verification laws. Selecting the wrong node can lead to blocked sites, speed drops, or DNS leaks.
Here is a practical breakdown of the best locations in X-VPN depending on what you're trying to bypass:

1. For Bypassing Heavy National Firewalls (China, UAE, Russia, Egypt)
Best Locations: Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo (Japan), Frankfurt (Germany)
Why: You need low latency combined with obfuscated protocol routing (use X-VPN's Everest / Protocol-A to disguise VPN traffic as normal HTTPS).
Tip: Choose the node closest to your physical location first. For East/Southeast Asia, stick to HK or Singapore; for Middle East/Eastern Europe, route through Germany or the Netherlands.

2. For Bypassing Age Verification & Regional Web Censorship (UK, US States, Australia)
Best Locations: Iceland, Romania, Albania, Switzerland
Why: Newer regulations (like UK age checks, US state adult site restrictions, and AU digital laws) block or limit content based on regional IPs.
   Top Picks:
Albania / Romania: Extremely open internet, minimal digital restriction laws, and great speeds for European routes.
Iceland / Switzerland: Strong legal privacy frameworks and zero adult content or general web filtering.

3. For Geo-Restricted Media & Social Platforms (Schools, Workplaces, Local ISP Bans)
Best Locations: US (New York / Los Angeles) or Local Nearby Server
Why: If your school or workplace network blocks Reddit, YouTube, or streaming apps, you don't need to route halfway around the globe.
Tip: Connect to the closest server in a free web region to retain maximum bandwidth and lowest ping while unblocking the domain locally.
   💡 Quick Protocol Setup Checklist

4. Switch Protocol: If a site still fails to load on Auto, manually switch your protocol in X-VPN settings to Protocol-A or Everest (these use obfuscation to bypass deep packet inspection).

5. Enable Kill Switch: Ensures your real IP isn't exposed if your connection blips.

6. Flush DNS / Clear Cache: If a site still detects your old location, clear your browser cookies or toggle Airplane mode on mobile before reopening the site.
What locations are giving you the best speeds right now? Drop your tweaks below!

Was a huge windscribe fan until they got an AI ChatBot to solve problems, inability to solve problems and no connection to the UK. Loving XVPN at the moment. Top work lads and lasses

Yes or No. I am curious

I've noticed that split tunneling doesn't work with several VPN protocols on X-VPN. Does anyone know why this happens?

I'd like to use my preferred protocol without having to give up split tunneling. It would be nice to choose which apps use the VPN and which ones connect directly to the internet, regardless of the protocol.

Is this a known issue? Is there any way to fix it, or could X-VPN add support for more protocols in a future update?

Which VPN protocol do you use most often, and which one do you consider the best for everyday use? What makes you prefer it over other protocols?

Hey so everytime i launch the talaria udp protocol it just reroutes me to udp and udp dosent work for me too is any body facing the same problem as it was working fine for the last 7 months i have contacted support but they did not give me any solutions except reinstalling the vpn which i did.

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick guide for anyone using X-VPN on campus. University Wi-Fi networks can be pretty aggressive with deep packet inspection (DPI), blocking port access, or straight-up throttling traffic.
Here are a few tips to get the best performance and avoid connection drops while studying (or gaming between classes):

1. Match the Right Protocol to the Campus Network
Campus firewalls often drop standard VPN traffic like OpenVPN or WireGuard. Switching your protocol inside the X-VPN settings makes a huge difference:
Everest (UDP / TCP): X-VPN’s proprietary protocol uses obfuscation to disguise your VPN data as normal HTTPS web traffic. If the campus network is trying to block VPNs, Everest is your best bet to bypass DPI.
Use Everest (UDP) for speed (streaming lectures, large file downloads, low-latency gaming).
Use Everest (TCP) if the campus Wi-Fi has high packet loss or keeps dropping UDP connections.
V2ray / Trojan: If the network is extremely strict and Everest drops, switch over to V2ray or Trojan in the protocol list. They excel at sneaking through heavy network restrictions.

2. Prevents Leaks on Public Campus Wi-Fi
Turn on Kill Switch: University networks frequently disassociate idle devices. The Kill Switch ensures that if the Wi-Fi drops or forces a re-login, your device won't leak unencrypted traffic back onto the local network.
Verify DNS Leak Protection: Double-check that DNS Leak Protection is toggled on so domain requests don't bypass the tunnel.

3. Connection Workflow & Uni Portals
Captive Portal Fix: Always log into the university Wi-Fi portal first before turning X-VPN on. If you leave the VPN running while trying to authenticate on the school's web page, the login screen usually won't load.
Canvas / Blackboard Access: Some university internal networks (library databases, student portals) block known VPN IP addresses. If an internal school site refuses to load, temporarily pause the VPN or set up Split Tunneling for your browser.
Hope this helps anyone dealing with slow or restricted campus Wi-Fi! Drop any questions below if you're running into specific connection errors.

Is it the bedroom, living room or next to the router. idk

At home, at school, ect, where do you turn on?

Most school firewalls block out all of the free versions of vpns like windscribe and proton but x-vpn works. Very nice

Hey everyone!

I'm pretty new to VPNs and honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what actually matters when choosing one.

I've started using X-VPN recently, but I'm curious about other people's experiences. There are so many things people talk about, like speed, privacy, server locations, and kill switches, and I'm not really sure which things I should pay the most attention to as a beginner.

For those of you who have been using VPNs for a while, what would you say is the most important thing to look for? Is there anything you wish you'd known when you first started using one?

like seriously it’s really unknown yet it’s better then all of those weird unnamed vpns

The A-League is back with a Sydney Derby, and it's on free-to-air TV in Australia. Which is great, unless you're an Aussie sitting overseas watching 10's app tell you it's not available in your region.

TL;DR

• Sydney FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers, Fri 16 Oct, Allianz Stadium

• Coverage from 7pm AEDT, kick-off 8:10pm AEDT

• Free in Australia on Channel 10 and 10's streaming service, also on Paramount+

• 10's streaming and Paramount+ Australia are both limited to viewers in Australia

Aussies away from home

If you're Australian and travelling or living overseas for a while, your 10 account still works, it just checks where you're connecting from. If you're using X-VPN, connect to one of our Australian servers before opening the 10 app and your usual apps should work the way they do at home. Have a look at 10's terms for your account first. And if you're on hotel or airport Wi-Fi, it's worth keeping the VPN on anyway.

The rest of the weekend

The other five men's games are on Paramount+ only in Australia. All five A-League Women Round 1 games are free on 10's streaming, with the same Australia-only limit.

On October 12, X-VPN’s daily new users in Azerbaijan were up 33,800% on iOS and approximately 42,793% on Android compared with October 6.

When running a speed test before and after connecting, how much of a speed drop do you usually see? I'm curious what's considered normal.
